Well, I've never tried using an iPad, but I know that in terms of using a super basic program like iMovie, it's way better on desktop than it is on a mobile device. I think that experimentation is the most important. I have to make a lot of versions of my edit, because I want to use a lot of overlays for transitions, or even text.
