    To those who find themselves stuck inside control whenever they get there, I have one suggestion for you: put yourself there every time you roll. Learn to survive there, and learn to escape no matter who has you. Eventually, you’ll get so good at escaping side control, that you will let people pass your guard and get the position just so that you can use it to set up attacks. Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know or what’s hard for you. Embrace it.

    My first and second times sparring I got dominated by simple pressure in side control by guys a bit heavier. After watching this video, and ignoring the under hook, applying pressure to their neck with my forearm, it helped me so much in sparring. I love jiu jitsu !!!

    I love it and I've been taught that for years since 1990s and I think honestly my friend here is just super awesome how my only thing is after all the time that I've done that getting back into the guard why did not just kick out the legs? when I went in kick that one leg over the arm arm locks, I have so many things! why don't we accomplish the locks instead of actually going to the guard? on the time because if you go for the lock and they back out on you, you still got away anyways and yeah you're not in the guard....but I'm not inside control either I love you guys thank you

    How does putting the hand close to the neck stop the attack compared to putting the hand on the shoulder?

    It works so fucking good with people 190-230 but I rolled with guy that was close to 260 and there was no way I could buck up and conserve energy

    that s good basics, but the top guy should give up this side mount if the bottom guy has that kond of frame... and go to side control. sorry but i.think a too guy holding to this weak.top position is not very good

      This could definitely work on a sumo sized person. Yes, you'd have to work harder but and their pin in side control would be much more heavier. But the idea that Renzo said about creating a frame is what's going to save you. Frames can't be broken by weight or pressure dropping straight down on it, they would have to take the frame down sideways and sweep it from its foundation completely. So as long as they create solid frames it creates the slightest gap between you and them. It makes even more sense that Renzo said that you have to create distance by scooting your OWN butt away from them. If you tried to make space by pushing the 400+ guy away with your arms that would not work.

      Yes I didn’t believe in 400 pound people either until I move to the US. I’ve trained with at least eight 400 pound people in the past 10 years. So they do exist

    • @mjolnir9855
      @mjolnir9855 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they do, I used to be one of them. And this escape DOES work against me. Although I like the Ghost escape a little better, this does definitely work against bigger guys, no problem. People still get caught in the false notion that more weight means inability to move. Not true. It simple means that the bigger guys MOVES SLOWER. Learn to be in un-comfortable positions, and learn how to breathe correctly. It won't matter if they guy is 400lbs or more. I'm being as honest as I can with you. People who say it can't be done, have never learned or trained to do it properly. It can be done, I have extensive background in people doing it to me when I was a lot bigger. And I'm still a big guy. 375lbs down from 420.
