Naughty EDSA Driver

  • This started with a simple request to the driver of a private vehicle... please leave the bus lane.
The driver allegedly reacted to that request by rolling down his window and calling the enforcers D***heads
You can monitor updates and comments on / 2696570083907236
After that, the driver was pulled to the side of the road and asked for his drivers license. I assume the intention was to issue a ticket for the original alleged violation (yellow lane) and perhaps for arrogance.
Because the driver refused to surrender his license and the MMDA don't have Police powers, they immediately sought support from the PNP (HPG).
The driver claimed he was going to the hospital to see his mother in law. It's unclear if it was an emergency because he consumed a lot of time arguing on the road.
The driver was showing the contact name and number for a VIP and saying he was getting ready to call them. This might be perceived as an attempt to intimidate the enforcers.
Later the driver said "I'm gonna fu***ng tare your fu***ng head off..."
After that, the driver alluded to the enforcers wanting money from him.
Eventually he surrendered his license and was ticketed. At this point I don't know if there will be further action like a request to revoke drivers license

I been here for 8 years in this beautiful country. I'm from chicago, IL. born and raised american. When I've got pulled over by both mmda and an enforcer. I've never talked to them like that. I've said yes po, ty po, no po. I always show much respect. I've never got a ticket for the amount of respect I got for filipinos in this country. I got pulled over for violating the law but i didnt know the law either. I would ask the enforcer or mmda please explain what i did wrong so i would do it again because I didnt know. they explain everything as long as you show respect.

the law enforcer would call for backup when they pulled you over. "ambulance now nose bleed me". sorry, my imagination just ran wild. but anyway, i wish everyone respected them the way you do. thanks for this videos, i now understand how difficult their jobs is. i have more respect to them now than anyother government agency. just standing in the heat of the sun while chasing kanotes deserves much respect. i love traffic enforcers.

yeah bong nebrija kinda went over board here, saying things like if that is what you've been doing on your country etc, anyway the violator is a huge piece of crap, I feel bad for those people who actually had to breath the same air that he is breathing in the same room or house. Violating a law and not complying with the law inforcer is alraedy a bad thing, Threatening a law inforcer is another thing, if this jerk said the exact words on a american police officer "I'm gonna break tare your f%%% head" there is a high chance that he will receive a room temprature challenge.

I don’t understand why he was not arrested. And why was his face concealed?
    1. He violated a traffic law
    2. he refused to hand in his driver’s licence,
    3. he threatens an officer of the law,
    4. he spoke like he owns the world, talked down to an officer
    5. ignored enforcer’s instructions
    6. Bribed the officer
    7. He even named dropped who ever he said he knew
    8. And when he finally gave his licence he refused to sign the ticket
And you let him go??????? Really???????🤬
If that happened here in Canada, that guy would have been in handcuffs the minute he spoke back and threatens the officer and in minutes he would have been surrounded by back up cops.
Only in the Philippines where you can easily “get away with murder” so to speak. Sad but true! We gotta toughen up sirs!

    • @themurderhornet180
      @themurderhornet180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree with most of what you said, but people have rights. It’s not the job of an enforcer to act as an authoritarian. They are public servants. Their job is to enforce the law, which they did. Not make up laws such as “being arrogant to an enforcer”. What the driver did was wrong and he acted irrational. But the enforcer should have at least tried to remain calm and de-escalate the situation. Two massive egos clashing will only end badly.
Foreigners are treated differently when driving in the Philippines. I’ve personally been pulled over more than 40 times in the area I live by traffic enforcers trying to get money from me in the first couple years here for “swerving”. I stay calm though and just request for the ticket. They’ll offer a convoy to my destination, but I politely decline. They then give me a “warning” and send me on my way. I can see how people can develop a negative feeling toward them. But it is getting better.

Michael Stevens Hmmm. So you don’t believe there’s a law that would prohibit a violator from cursing an officer off? I thought about your statement and you do seem to want to present yourself as non-bias, but you still come off as a dick, Sir!
Here’s my understanding of international traffic laws: If you violate the traffic rules and get stopped by authorities, you provide your license and that’s that. At no point should you call an enforcer a dickhead and/or threaten him/her with harm, regardless if you were just using an expression you’re used to. A threat is a threat. If you don’t know the repercussions of your words, that’s on you. Ignorance of the law excuses no one. Your argument would have held water if this asshole in the car didn’t do any of the above. I’m not even putting into account the other things that he did, which was to call his sugar daddy from the military. That’s a straight slap in the face! You come to a country, you respect the people there. Otherwise, get the fuck out! I’m an American by the way.

The MMDA do not have Police powers. They cannot force someone out of their vehicle. That's why they immediately sought backup from the PNP.
Rich or poor, tricycle or SUV, I always blur the driver if they were issued a ticket. You can see this in all of my videos.
The man claims to be a Citizen of the Philippines.
This kind of abuse isn't rare. It's just that many enforcers would let it slide.
If the earlier portions of this encounter weren't caught on camera, the driver could have posted his own video which started much later and the story would look very different. That's another reason why many enforcers let things go, because they usually come out looking like the bad guy.
You might be stressed, you might be having a bad day. But guess what, it's no picnic standing on EDSA, under the hot sun, breathing in fumes all day.
If you have an emergency, just tell the enforcer. 99% of the time they will let you go or they'll even assist you.
