Most of the ones that are killed are adults killed for food. If these “Poachers” as you call them, were so evil then they’d kill the little ones too. They don’t. At least they sell them, since they’re too small to eat which they do mainly because these people are dirt poor. I call bullshit on this poaching thing. Everyone that hunts them are not poachers, they don’t exist. But you know what is real? Troops of adult chimpanzees killing children in Uganda like crazy. I say if these animals can feed people and the little ones make em a few extra bucks as well then so be it. Stop pushing your out dated white colonialistic attitudes off onto these people.

It's so appalling what happens to these babies after losing their mothers to filthy human beings that kill them and take their babies to either keep or sell as a pet or worse. Just look into the eyes of a baby chimp, orangutan, or any other animal and try really hard to find a justifiable reason to hurt them. They're just innocent like little children. I can’t stop crying. My soul and heart are in pieces. To see what human kind has done to these animals. I remember a gorilla maybe KOKO or Michael explaining by signing that he remembered his mother being killed for bush meat. He signed they smashed her with his hands. I will never forget that. This baby remembers what happened to his mom and family. The pain and agony for so many animals and people are horrifying. I have no other words for it. I pray for all of them nightly. I see these videos and they stay with me forever. I always remember them. I hope this little angel has a beautiful life. His beautiful eyes, face and his big belly made my heart melt. When the soldier started approaching him and he lifted his little arms in the air it broke my heart. That was his way of saying please pick me up and hold me. I wish primates were native to the area I live in so I could volunteer to help orphaned primates like this little guy.
All he needed was the warmth and comfort of being shown love and the safety of being held, and giving him those basic things that most all living humans and primates alike desperately want, especially as an infant...and that simple act gave him the will to want to live. When he got sick I bet you he probably felt so alone that he didn't have the will to live or anything to live for...but the simple act of holding him and showing him affection and comfort and that he is loved and protected and safe gave him something to live for...those kind people who are taking care of him and looking out for him. And even though he is going to have to be released back into the wild with other chimps, I bet you it will still be difficult for all parties and a bit heartbreaking...but I hope if they try to go see him after a few years after releasing him, he will remember them and recognize them and come say hi...like I've seen in other videos of humans reuniting with animals they had nursed back to health or took care of from birth up to the first few years, so there was a special bond between them...it's something else to see, definitely tears on the old heartstrings to see how happy the animals are to see their human companions who took care of them and showed them the love they needed and deserved when they were lost little babies without their mothers

@cindywitter9741 I agreed Cindy. These apes are endangered and Jane Goodall has been studied chimpanzees in Eastern Africa’s Tanzania at Gombe stream national park to the mahale mountains for 64 years in 1960 during her stay there.

When the soldier started approaching him and he lifted his little arms in the air it broke my heart. That was his way of saying please pick me up and hold me. I wish primates were native to the area I live in so I could volunteer to help orphaned primates like this little guy.
So innocent, their world changes for ever, when their mum's are shot.

All he needed was the warmth and comfort of being shown love and the safety of being held, and giving him those basic things that most all living humans and primates alike desperately want, especially as an infant...and that simple act gave him the will to want to live. When he got sick I bet you he probably felt so alone that he didn't have the will to live or anything to live for...but the simple act of holding him and showing him affection and comfort and that he is loved and protected and safe gave him something to live for...those kind people who are taking care of him and looking out for him. And even though he is going to have to be released back into the wild with other chimps, I bet you it will still be difficult for all parties and a bit heartbreaking...but I hope if they try to go see him after a few years after releasing him, he will remember them and recognize them and come say hi...like I've seen in other videos of humans reuniting with animals they had nursed back to health or took care of from birth up to the first few years, so there was a special bond between them...it's something else to see, definitely tears on the old heartstrings to see how happy the animals are to see their human companions who took care of them and showed them the love they needed and deserved when they were lost little babies without their mothers
