+dafni simone My sentiments EXACTLY! Probably the best produced hardcore dvd I've run across (I haven't seen everything though). I'm 53 going on 54 and I STILL get pumped listening to this!
Just saw a comment by: Erich Dilbeck? Young man..., you obviously don't know your history. Take it from a person who was present with this band in the early days.... THEY ARE DEFINITELY THE REAL DEAL! You may not appreciate Rogers' singing yet it helped to shape so many bands' interpretations of "hard music". I am not a fan of Rogers' singing style in the "pure sense", yet I know where he comes from and that is doing his part to forge the foundation of New York Hardcore music - which I will ALWAYS have respect for. My last memory of Roger is with him and Vinnie in a hotel room after a GOLDENVOICE gig (Gary Tovar era), partying and hanging out with a young puppy who was rather exuberant (it was a pit bull). I asked them, "what is up with your dog?" They just laughed! Great guys. I don't care what you think or say..., AGNOSTIC FRONT are great people..., judging from my experience.
CBGB never should have been closed down!!!!!!!! it was a landmark for great bands and music!!!!! and AF is at the forefront of the hardcore movement!!!!!!!

Hardcore Punk was before Thrash Metal. Early Thrash bands took many from Hardcore, from american and british HC.Of course in the mid of '80 Hardcore Punx took influences from Metal and Thrash Metal and they created Crossover Thrash-one of first was Agnostic Front "Cause Of Alarm" (first MetalCore), Grunge, Crust Punk, GrindCore, in 90's New School, Screamo, MathCore. In 90's Metalheads again turn in to Hardcore: Groove Metal, Alternative Metal, Nu Metal.Hc and T. M. are close but HC was earlier
Loving it! Not taking away from drummer, because HE"S great, but, instead of hearing the bass of the drums while he's playing I can hear tapping, like the sticks themselves, instead of more drum. Maybe it's the audio or just me? Does anyone notice it?
it makes me sad that i see really great videos such as this one of a really good hardcore band and everyone is fighting over where this genre of music came from. the only reason a band is "hardcore" is because the message is talking about kids like all of us that aren't normal, kids that aren't accepted. the entire message is to watch out for each other and coming together, not disagree with every comment made by each other, when we do that we forget who the enemy is....negativity!
Actually thrash metal is metal put together with hardcore punk but it's surely not more hardcore than hardcore... And sure there are lots of hardcore bands from the 70s: Have you ever heard of Black Flag (1976), Bad Brains (1977), 7 Seconds (1979), Circle Jerks (1979), Dead Kennedys (1978), D.O.A. (1978) and so on?
@Erich Dilbeck... Roger has always sung in that style. Respectfully, I'd suggest that you step back and learn your history. If you don't like Roger's voice, you don't like AF.
im sorry i love AF -- but if roger ever learned to hold the mic to his mouth woulda been alot better on video--- but dont get me wrong-- always a blast to see live--- TONS OF FUCKING ENERGY-- just dosent transmit well to video
Thrash Metal is a mix of Classic Metal, Hardcore and Punk Rock. So if it wasn't for Punk Rock and Hardcore, there'd have been no Thrash Metal. Hardcore bands being influenced by thrash metal bands is only logical. But that's not something narrow-minded people can understand. Or appreciate
@H Scott, in 80's I was mostly into Hardcore and punk, also Jazz Fusion, and Rap and R&B. I was never into metal except when I was a little kid I liked Kiss. Hardcore and punk for the revolutionary message, and same for rap. Jazz fusion just for the skill and listenability.
Seems odd at first, but the Bad Brains started as a jazz fusion band, lol. I really like Weather Report, Eric Johnson, Shawn Lane, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, of course Return to Forever, also Frank Zappa, although he is hard to categorize. I pretty much like anything independent, as mainstream music is just not interesting to me. I love Jaco Pastorius by himself, too. My favorite band is Reagan Youth, I also like The Cro Mags, Youth of Today, M.D.C., Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, Crass, GBH, and Bad Religion.
That's bullshit. Hardcore is older than thrash metal. In fact thrash metal was influenced by hardcore punk (if you don't believe me ask wikipedia or whatever else).
Nothing else to say....the best dvd i own in my life! I´m 52 now......and listening to Agnostic since 84......Cheers from Brazil!

they NEED to reopen CBGBS
it did decend from punk, but reason why he probably brought up thrash was because Agnostic Front included thrash elements in their music
Agnostic Rules
setlist? anyone?
whats the song at the start ? and also the name of the song that rotates with it at 1:54
! N.Y.H.C !
opening for beiber
fast cuts is the wrong way to bring the energy to the people
sounds like skate rock to me. fine with me.
Actually thrash metal is metal put together with hardcore punk but it's surely not more hardcore than hardcore...

What year was this show taped?
@Erich Dilbeck... Roger has always sung in that style. Respectfully, I'd suggest that you step back and learn your history. If you don't like Roger's voice, you don't like AF.
The Eliminator
Im surprised fletcher didnt slap murph in the mouth for patting him on the back like he is part of it.

am I the only Person who thinks Roger could be the brother of Wendy O. Williams ?? the style of singing is uhm.. similar ;)
when was this shot
This shit is the real deal. All they need to do is throw Justin Beiber out in the crowd where he'll be torn to shreds. NY HARD CORE for LIFE!
2006
im sorry i love AF -- but if roger ever learned to hold the mic to his mouth woulda been alot better on video--- but dont get me wrong-- always a blast to see live--- TONS OF FUCKING ENERGY-- just dosent transmit well to video
Hardcore came from punk, which came before thrash...
inspiring a generation of singers... (that you can't understand a damn bit)..ha. great albums though. ..
Not enough double bass .HARDCORE is the son of Thrash Metal and he will learn by his own.
... NYHC ...
! Much respect. Check facebook music page: LINYHC
Old school thugs. Real stuff, nothing like these times.
Now the kids play with their iphones and chat instead of going in pit and getting a beat down.
Chris Delgado dude you still use a flip phone
Yeah i do. Do you still wear diapers?
I give 2 shits about cell phones.
Plenty of us young ones love this shit, I'm 22 and ive been listening to this stuff since i was about 12! We're not all stuck on our phones hahaha
@@ras124 yes and a good one too
Criminal!!!!!
Hardcore didn't descend from thrash,it descended from punk

I KNOW!
It makes the music looks like metal...
CBGB isn't a metal place.
This is heavy metal? I used to think AF was a hardcore band.
+Chrisdougable it is more old school hardcore (the good one) than crossover. The first years where pure crossover and they shifted into hardcore

+Chrisdougable they'ye mixed, every album sounds different, some hardcore and some metal!
Que guey?
That's bullshit. Hardcore is older than thrash metal. In fact thrash metal was influenced by hardcore punk (if you don't believe me ask wikipedia or whatever else).
They do sound cooler, but they are double-kick pedals...kinda cheating.
