You can't conclude that the play decided the game. Even if Dallas scored on that possession, the 49ers were still up 3 points and with Young, Rice, and Ricky Waters and playing at home they were still in position to score again or stop Dallas and win it. Also Dallas spent a lot of energy trying to catch-up in that game, the Cowboys played from behind for the ENTIRE game you could even see their mighty offensive line melting at the very end of the fourth quarter.
As a Cowboys fan, I think that was PI. However, that was not what cost Dallas the game. Being down by 21-0 within the first eight minutes, Switzer not running out the clock before halftime (Which gave the Niners the ball back and allowed them to score again) and Switzer running into a ref and drawing a flag right after this play were all much more damaging. I think this play is most remembered for two reasons: 1). It came at a late, critical point in the game, and 2). the people involved in it. Nobody would remember it if Michael and Deion weren't involved in it, although watching them argue about it 20 years later is still funny.
perhaps the biggest thing was having OG Larry Allen out their the entire game with a severely sprained upper calf which he could barely move let alone block anyone or even get out of his stance. His opponent was blowing by him every single play and getting to Aikman which may have been the cause of some of those early turnovers. Meanwhile, you have Ron Stone as the backup which very much lives up to his name. It would've been interesting to see how this game might've turned out if the proper call had been made. Deion clearly pinned Irvin's arms by extending his arm across the front of his body. Clear PI, no question. Even if the call had been made, no one can say what would've happened next. Maybe Aikman fumbles the next snap or E. Smith fumbles the ball. Maybe Aikman throws a pick on a fade to the corner of the end zone. Nobody will ever know, but that PI should've been called.
Came here after listening to today's Undisputed where Michael Irvin reminisced this play and said he blamed it on himself not jumping up and fighting for it more. Crazy how great of competitors these two were.
I think the key here is Deion looked back and up at the ball while his back was against Irvin. A lot of corners today don't even look back, just try to time and swipe the ball from the receivers hands and most of the time doing it before the ball arrives.
@@matt7iron Looking back for the ball doesn't mean it's okay to bar the receiver's arm so he *can't* attempt to catch it. There's no universe in which that isn't pass interference. What Deion is doing with his left arm is not "going for the ball," it's preventing Irvin from being able to use his arms/hands to make a catch. And the video clearly shows that Sanders never made any attempt to catch the football.

reese packer: So true. I couldn't have said it better myself. It was also karma that the Dallas dynasty of the 90's was launched in the '92 NFCCG at Candlestick Park - the same place where the Tom Landry's Dallas dynasty died in '81. What goes around comes around!
not a cowboys fan but they won the next year without him and the fact they went to the nfc championship game without him speaks value that Jimmy johnson wasn't all that great
ericradford2142 Two things: 1) free agency began in '93, not '94, and 2) the Cowboys were a more talented team in '94 with the addition of future Hall-of-Famer, Larry Allen.
smoothcollected they called that at the end of the first half on Dallas when the player was looking back at the ball and had a simple hand check on the WR's back with absolutely no impeding on the player in any way. That cave the Niners a TD on the next play when otherwise they are punting. Even Summerall and Madden were in agreement.
+Der Hedrites Clearly NOT pass interference. As you can easily see, Deion had his head turned looking for the ball, and the defender has every right to do this. Hell, even today with all the rules favoring the receivers, that wouldn't be called.
+Chris Kavanagh You need to go back and read the full rules for pass interference. This absolutely WAS pass interference. Deion having his head turned looking for the ball is only ONE requirement. You also CANNOT collide with the receiver before the ball arrives, and you CANNOT have your body contacting the receiver in a way that prevents him from making a legitimate chance on catching the ball. Deion got beaten on this play, slipped, and in his effort to recover, collided into Irvin AND put his arm across Irvin's arms, pinning them down and preventing him from making a fair grab for the catch. P.I. completely. I don't know what play you watched.
I am a Redskins fan and hate the Cowboys but that was pass interference or illegal contact at a MINIMUM. That said I don't think Michael Irvin caught a pass in his career without committing offensive pass interference.
If Deion Sanders hadn't slipped they may have called Pass Interference but he slipped, caught up and looked back at the ball to stop the play!!!! Best DB of all-time
I am a true Cowboys fan and that was a great no call just outstanding defense. Dallas was down by 10 and there wasn't any way Frisco was going to Dallas win. That was a great game.
+festerson obasohan It's really refreshing to see some honest football fans out there, thank you! As a Cowboys fan, I acknowledge that in the 1975 "Hail Mary" game against the Vikings, Drew Pearson committed offensive P.I. during that last famous play. I think the Vikings got totally cheated out of a chance at another Super Bowl run.
+Joe Moe By rule of the book you are allowed to contact the receiver to cover them. Deion used a very old fashioned move that disables the receiver from being able to use both hands during a catch, which is by the rules ALLOWED. Irvin slipped seconds after the ball left his hand. NOT P.I
Tom W , playing the ball doesn't mean you can blatantly hold the recievers arm down so he can't catch the ball. Playing the ball had nothing to do with what Sanders did on that play
I see both sides as a Boys fan. Deion at the last moment looked back for the ball so any “incidental” contact after that is overlooked. Key word being “incidental”. But reaching across Irvin’s chest to prevent him from raising his arms for the catch is not “incidental”. It’s intentional.
The game may be remembered for this play, but this wasn't why the Cowboys lost. Five turnovers (including three in the first seven minutes) were why the Cowboys lost.
What saved Sanders' ass was the fact that he was looking back at the ball. It is what it is, besides even Irvin acknowledged that you can't spot SF a 21 point lead! Three years in a row that both of these teams stood head and shoulders above the rest.
This play and the forgotten chip shot Chris Boniol missed when the Cowboys were trying to climb out of that 21-0 hole were killer. If Boniol made that kick, the Cowboys were driving in the 4th quarter to tie the score. Terrible no call here...that's as obvious a PI as you're gonna get.
If Jimmy Johnson would have still been the coach, Ken Norton stays, Alvin Harper stays, and Deion goes to Dallas. The Cowboys would have possibly had a five-peat. Plus, Emmitt Smith played with a shoulder injury on a horrible field. The niners bought their Super Bowl that year and played a weak Charger team to boot. That's the bottom line!
The Chargers were SUPER weak...I was hoping Pittsburg would have made it to the Super Bowl I think they had a better chance of beating the 49ers....damn two franchises I hate Steelers & Niners what a choice hunh?
yes..especially the Niners for those two NFC wins in 81 and 94 ...its hard for me to to decide which one hurts more ...Landry not getting a shot at his 3 SB win as coach vs a Bengals team he would likely beat ...but the 94 game was HARD to take because (minus the head coach) that team was even better..AND killed the 3 peat
Also remember the half million circumventing of the cap that year on the tight end Brent for the 49ers. They did everything to try and beat us. They got caught only because of the illegal activity by Debartolo on gambling licenses which caused the league to look at all their books. They were fined by losing draft picks. There will always be an * on their SB in 94.
People need to understand that the DB has the right to the ball just as much at the receiver as long as they are playing the ball and not the WR. Deion clearly had his head turned and that contact would be called incidental contact. Maybe now they would call that (which is infuriating now) for the hand on the WR but that was textbook pin the hip technique as long as you don't grab and you play the ball with your head turned. It was taught that way across levels of Football for decades especially during that time. That was the rulebook - god knows what it is now - nobody has a clear picture of what is PI these days with the refs in the NFL - you sneeze on them its PI.
If Prime doesn't look back im tossin da flag, but he looked back and has every right to go for the ball even if he runs through Ervin, as long as he looks back like he wants to intercept the ball, incomplete pass.
+Eric Schaefer I agree there is a lot of Seahawks pass interference, but there are also some pretty bad ones that get called on them too like uncatchable balls and defenseless receiver that aren't legitimate
+KwaGod Brown LOL if you're at the mall and a your girlfriend gets mad a scratches the skin off your face but the cop had his back turned...it didn't happen..right? And if he turns around when you react, you'll be the one going to jail...lol so much for your logic.
clear pass interference. not only does sanders block his arms he also impedes upper body rotation. irvin can't even look back to see where the ball is allowing him to "make a play" for the ball, all because of the actions of the defensive back. pass interference.
Tom W as a cowboy fan that's exactly why they didn't call pi he looked back for the ball however he made contact way to soon could have went either way
On top of this, Rice got a very dubious P.I. call to go his way earlier in the game after arguing with the official. That made this no-call sting even worse.
netjunkie9 you are right. Also Irvin catch in End zone that was called out of bounds was actually in. Look at replay. Make ur mind up. But it would be a td today.
It really wasn't that bad. Never held or grabbed. Plus you write biggest ever but this comment was made after the saints vs rams nfc championship game 😄 🤣
@@Jose.J316 wouldn't you call that play more game altering since that woulda give 1st and goal with time winding down and a field.goal to win. Instead of 1st and goal down 10 with 6min left. Just sharing my opinion not trynna argue🤙🤙
In the sense that both the Niners and the Cowboys were way better than SD and every other AFC team? Yes. But the biggest PI no-call ever is still Rams/Saints since that affected the outcome of the game and there was no way you could argue the Rams got away with one. The Saints had legitimate Super Bowl aspirations and probably could've given NE a better contest than LAR.
I think the reason Refs don't want to call PI calls in crunch time is because of the stupid amount of yardage it gives a team. They should limit it to 15 yards like it is in college.
Funny how everyone talks about this play, but the play that Irvin caught the TD on that got the Cowboys to 28 points was far worse offensive pass interference when Irvin clearly pushed off the defender in the end zone. In fact, Irvin made a career of continually pushing off of defenders so for him to whine about Deion putting his arm across his chest when he’s running stride for stride with him is laughable. Dude is the biggest hypocrite that ever played the game. LOL
I never heard anyone talk about this play for years following that game. It's a pretty sizable stretch to assume that play cost the Cowboys the game. If they were down by 3 with under 3 to go, I could understand. But down by 10 with over 6 minutes to play? ????
I'm a Dallas fan first off. But this wasn't pass interference. If you truly love the game of football give credit when it's due. Deion slips, regains position, Deion turns catches up to Irvin, turns his head and as "he feels for the receiver" he prevents the catch. There is no push off. Great play. #textbook
Luckily, the 49ers won by 10, so this play did not decide the game--------and Michael Irvin got away with pass interference many times during his career. They even named a new offensive pass interference policy "the Michael Irvin rule" because of him pushing off defenders to get room to catch the ball.
Crabtree being grabbed and held against the Ravens in the SB was worse. Here, the ball was under thrown and both players looking back had a right to position and the ball. Seen worse.
If anything that should have been offensive pass interference Irvin grabbed Sanders arm... Sanders had his eyes on the ball and could make the argument he was positioning to go after the ball... Thats what my uncle said... (Former nfl reff I'll let you guess who) ;)
It was pass interference, but whether Dallas down by 10 could have won, that's another matter. Anyway biggest interference on Dallas was getting rid of head coach jimmy Johnson.
It was definitely pass interference, however.... one play (noncall) does NOT decide an entire football; NEVER HAS...NEVER WILL! And, I'm a HUGE Cowboy's FAN by the way!
One of the greatest days of my life!! Stopping that Cowboys 3 peat was AWESOME!! Years later in high school, I had an assignment to write a paper on an unforgettable moment. I choose this game to write about (true story) The way I see it, Irvin is a great WR (one of the all time greats) but he constantly gets away with so many push offs. So for him not to get this call, seems like some sort of payback. This game and The Catch back in 81 has to be the 2 best games out of the series. I wish NFL Network would show this game more. Such a classic!! 👍
This was my favorite Aikman game. It reminded me of what "Duke," Apollo Creed's manager told him in Rocky II: " . . . I saw you beat that man like I've never seen a man get beat, and the man kept coming after you." San Fran beat on Troy that day. They beat him down, but Troy kept getting back up. It wasn't until the Niners rotated all those fresh defensive lineman in that Dallas finally fell. Oh, and that pass interference on Deion. LOL!
jordan Harp absolutely....people forget the easy score Dal. got on the opening 2nd half kickoff. they cut the lead to ten with almost a whole half to play.....
Not PI, that play didn't decide crap. If he catches it, they might have scored a TD to get within 3. MIght??? My old Scotish grandfather used to say; "If everything wasn't the way it was it would all be different."
He couldn't lift his right hand. He was being covered by the best corner in the nfl. I don't blame him for not catching it, not everyone can make one handed catches 100% of the time
+jose romero I know. But he's one of the best all time WRs against the best all time man to man DB. Ref has to let that play out. Also like they said in the video Irvin was well known for pushing off and not getting called for it. Moments like this are what we watch for. We don't want the NFL to get like the NBA. Let them fight for the ball.
Troy should have beaten Prime as soon as Prime slipped. That close out speed was incredible! This may be the classiest rivalry (still very heated) in all all of sports.
Definitely pass interference. Deon put his arm across Michael's chest like you do when you stop a kid from stepping onto the street. 25 yrs later, and I still remember that play like it was yesterday.
Im a dire hard cowboy fan but I love deion as well..Bottom line is the call wasnt made because deion got his head back around to the ball...But it could of went either way..
If deion don't look to find the ball then yes that's pass interference, But when he catches michael Irvin, he looks to locate the ball he played the ball so no that is not pass interference it a physical play by 2 physical players
Dude..he GRABBED Irvin's arm! You CANNOT legally do that! I would be playing in The NFL today..if I was allowed to grab a player's arm and hold it for over 5 yards while the ball is in the air!
U can't call that he look back for the ball and by the rule!! he has every right to it at that point as irvin deion was just in better position to make a play on the ball than irvin that's on aikman deion should've never had a chance at it especially after slipping aikman didn't lead irvin enough
That's a good no call, I hate when players expect the refs to bail them out and they give up on the play, Michael could have caught that if he really wanted to but you could tell by his reaction that he was expecting the pass interference to get called, lazy move by him. Good to see them laughing about it years later while the fans continue to stay bitter.
I have no horse in this race. Not a 49ers fan and definitely not a Cowboys fan. Definitely not an Irvin or Sanders fan. I didn't even know that there was a notable play between these two to be honest. That said..... looking at this play. I don't see pass interference. I don't even think it would be called in today's game where it's pretty much a penalty to touch an offensive player now, haha. Sanders turns his head to look at the ball and therefore is "making a play on the ball" Irvin by the logic of that rule then.... just got in the way. Even if you want to debate that..... there was little contact. I've seen WAY worse not get called and there being no debate about it.
This play would have brought them within 3 points, maybe, still not a guaranteed TD and still not a guaranteed victory on the part of the Cowboys, perhaps a 38-35 victory for the 49ers instead of a 38-28, the Niners are still winners of this game and champs that year..
Irvin had to adjust his route, since it was under thrown, so it's a free ball, not interference, Sanders has a right to the ball too, because Irvin started to run toward Sanders. That was the "Red Lamborghini" coming to save the day, and he did. Not pass interference.

blackcobra1981
You should have stopped at "not a Cowboys fan." If you were, you would understand what I'm talking about.
1994 the first year of the salary cap and free agency started to bring down the Cowboys.
ericradford2142
Two things: 1) free agency began in '93, not '94, and 2) the Cowboys were a more talented team in '94 with the addition of future Hall-of-Famer, Larry Allen.
Pass interference, but it was great pass interference.
😂
Jokes about cheating are always funny😶😶😶😶
Hey don’t go down 21-0 in the 1st 5 minutes
@@ThankGodImBlack370 how is it cheating? It wasn’t PI lol sanders played the ball what yall think defense isn’t allowed?
by rules it's pass Interference...
It wasn't pi it was just a hand check Irvin wouldn't of caught it
The argument could be made just as much against Irvin as it could Sanders in cases where that's true "no call" is the best decision
smoothcollected , looking back for the ball still doesn't mean you can blatantly hold the recievers arms down so he can't catch the ball
smoothcollected , I understand that, but the refs need to look at more then just if the guy looked back for the ball or not
smoothcollected they called that at the end of the first half on Dallas when the player was looking back at the ball and had a simple hand check on the WR's back with absolutely no impeding on the player in any way. That cave the Niners a TD on the next play when otherwise they are punting. Even Summerall and Madden were in agreement.
Ah yes, 1994 the year I became a life-long San Fran. Fan @ the ripe ol' age of 7 years of age...
Im not a cowboys fan at all but tht was PI. Clearly.
Lol
+Der Hedrites Clearly NOT pass interference. As you can easily see, Deion had his head turned looking for the ball, and the defender has every right to do this. Hell, even today with all the rules favoring the receivers, that wouldn't be called.
+Der Hedrites No way that was pass interference. He was looking back for the ball and it was under thrown.
+Der Hedrites Absolutely correct. The guys down below don't know the full requirements for avoiding pass interference. This was a blown call.
That's amazing seeing them years after their careers and laughing it off. Amazing.
Best DB of all-time
The fact that he looked back for ball at the right time is why I think you don't call it.
I cried for a whole year after this game
😂😂😂😂
hate to see how you are now since Cowboys haven't done anything since the 90s 😂😂😂😂
I am a true Cowboys fan and that was a great no call just outstanding defense. Dallas was down by 10 and there wasn't any way Frisco was going to Dallas win. That was a great game.
I said the same thing but this is a 49er fan saying this just great defence and sanders didn't have any time to react to the ball he just did his job
+Tom W because he slipped
That dez bryant fake ass account gonna be like "dat was bullshit" lol
you are not wrong lol
He didn't see that red Lamborghini coming 😂
Who’s here after it was known it would be the Cowboys vs 49ers in the playoffs again finally ?
lol
Can we please here the views of someone who’s not a Cowboys fan or a 9ers fan.
im a 49ers fan and that was clearly PI
NOT P.I
festerson obasohan but it wasn't PI it's the arm bar tactic and he was trying to play the ball he was looking back for the ball so not PI
Good coverage
What saved Sanders' ass was the fact that he was looking back at the ball. It is what it is, besides even Irvin acknowledged that you can't spot SF a 21 point lead! Three years in a row that both of these teams stood head and shoulders above the rest.
This play and the forgotten chip shot Chris Boniol missed when the Cowboys were trying to climb out of that 21-0 hole were killer. If Boniol made that kick, the Cowboys were driving in the 4th quarter to tie the score. Terrible no call here...that's as obvious a PI as you're gonna get.
That wasn’t no PI he obviously played the ball lol yall just wanted a bail out call
+Fabiola Martinez .. i think had the Cowboys had home field advantage and playing at Texas Stadium (with a healthy Smith) they win that game
Ricky Lee Translation: WAAAH
Y’all gotta watch your last SB win on VHS and your bitter tears are delicious.
Wasn't Dallas losing 38-28 when that happened? How did that no call give the 49ers the victory? lol
Well, ya see, Timmy...
Tunes342 what happened on that drive the Cowboys got stopped on 3rd down and the niners ran out the clock
Tunes342 the game was already won in the 1st quarter. Dallas was making a comeback and this play sealed the deal.
I remember this game. what happened was they penalized dallas 15 yards because switzer walked onto the field to talk to the ref about the no-call
Roger Martin: Truth.
The Niners sat on the ball the 2nd half. There was no need to put up 49 more points
cost them the game? not in end zone and down by 10. They didn't score again so they STILL lose.
I cried tears of joy revisiting this
If Prime doesn't look back im tossin da flag, but he looked back and has every right to go for the ball even if he runs through Ervin, as long as he looks back like he wants to intercept the ball, incomplete pass.
As a Seahawks fan, that was pass interference, don't know how this is debatable
As a Seahawk fan? Lol that's a normal play in your teams secondary! I've seen worse not get called.
+Eric Schaefer I agree there is a lot of Seahawks pass interference, but there are also some pretty bad ones that get called on them too like uncatchable balls and defenseless receiver that aren't legitimate
+Eric Schaefer it's not PI unless the ref calls it
+KwaGod Brown LOL if you're at the mall and a your girlfriend gets mad a scratches the skin off your face but the cop had his back turned...it didn't happen..right? And if he turns around when you react, you'll be the one going to jail...lol so much for your logic.
+Christopher Miller haha true
clear pass interference. not only does sanders block his arms he also impedes upper body rotation. irvin can't even look back to see where the ball is allowing him to "make a play" for the ball, all because of the actions of the defensive back. pass interference.
boy its called the arm bar tactic
and deion was also trying to make a play on the ball he was looking for the ball
Tom W as a cowboy fan that's exactly why they didn't call pi he looked back for the ball however he made contact way to soon could have went either way
+Chris White hey not saying your wrong but he was using the arm bar tactic also
Tom W looking back at the ball does not allow you to impede the WR from making a catch, it only allows you to get away with incidental contact.
Niners got helped from the Refs this game period...... Lucky because the Cowboys probably would've smacked them...
@@skyblue5914 yeah yeah yeah y'all crying like a catch would have garunteed Dallas a win lol
@@skyblue5914 the 49ers destroyed the cowboys lol yall just used the refs as a scapegoat because they got embarrassed 😂
Deion may be a better "athlete" than Irvin, but he could NEVER cover "The MF Playmaker" going back to college, to the NFL...
Tony Kidd Can I have what you're smoking please?
Jarvis jUiCe Landry #FinsUp. not smoking.. I'm SERIOUS Irvin always gave Deion problems. he had over 200yards the year Deion was in San Francisco
Tony Kidd It wasn't on him though....
Deion in 93 with falcons held irvin to one catch for 4 yards now thats shutdown
Not true. Deion caught an INT over Irvin's shoulder in college 1 game during the intense FSU/Miami rivalry of the 80's.
That was pass interference!
Okay Dallas fan
Le'Veon Bell Even a 49er player agreed with me! ;)
+quantae06 idc Deion shut him down it wasn't interference
+World of plush we won by 10 last time I checked you ain't gunna score 11 point in a possession to win a game.
+quantae06 who
Biggest PI no call ever!
In the 90s you just KNEW whoever was left standing, the 49ers or the Cowboys, THAT team was going to be the Superbowl winner.
It really wasn't that bad. Never held or grabbed. Plus you write biggest ever but this comment was made after the saints vs rams nfc championship game 😄 🤣
"Biggest" term is referring to the importance of the play not how it was physically performed.
@@mrmacross fair point
Excellent defense.
Ppl that cry pass interference have no damn clue , Deion looked back before putting he's harm out to feel for Irvin. Great play awesome technique! ✌🏻
I'm a Dallas fan first off. But this wasn't pass interference. If you truly love the game of football give credit when it's due. Deion slips, regains position, Deion turns catches up to Irvin, turns his head and as "he feels for the receiver" he prevents the catch. There is no push off. Great play. #textbook
Cowboys have nothing to complain about...try not falling behind 21-0 in the 1st Quarter
Should have been a pass interference...
So there were plenty of missed calls on Irvin for Offensive PI.
Seen worse.
this is why i love this sport man greatness era
No flag, come on. Deion was in a better position to catch that ball than Irvin. Aikman should have thrown a better pass.
He was looking back for the ball. Had he not been, then maybe. Besides the throw was a little long, he wouldn’t have caught it anyway. Let it go!
not a pass interference. Deion bumped into Irvin as he was looking at the ball.
Funny thing is, Deion then went to Dallas and won a Super Bowl with them too.
turns and looks for the ball not gonna get called ever . . . . Revis uses the same trick even just tonight lol
If anything that should have been offensive pass interference Irvin grabbed Sanders arm... Sanders had his eyes on the ball and could make the argument he was positioning to go after the ball... Thats what my uncle said... (Former nfl reff I'll let you guess who) ;)
Of course if was pass interference, even the leprechaun Eric Davis said it was pass interference! Eric Davis!!
I remember that game
.it broke my heart
This is interference. But it was also Offensive PI when Irvin pushed off Eric Davis in the final Dallas TD in that game.
It didn't decide the game. It was a 2 possession game at the time.
LOL!
and to complete that line from Duke: "I know what you're feeling... let it go! we don't need that kind of man in our lives." lol
there was no pass interference and the game was never as close as this documentary made it seem. the Cowboys were never going to win this game
jordan Harp absolutely....people forget the easy score Dal. got on the opening 2nd half kickoff. they cut the lead to ten with almost a whole half to play.....
Not PI, that play didn't decide crap. If he catches it, they might have scored a TD to get within 3. MIght??? My old Scotish grandfather used to say; "If everything wasn't the way it was it would all be different."
that quote is literally saying the same thing twice lol
Odell would've caught that. My understanding as a receiver myself is that if you get a hand on the ball and don't catch it, it's your fault
Odell wasn't born yet lol.
+STAND YOUR GROUND! No shit, Sherlock.
+STAND YOUR GROUND! OBJ was born in 1992 lol
He couldn't lift his right hand. He was being covered by the best corner in the nfl. I don't blame him for not catching it, not everyone can make one handed catches 100% of the time
+jose romero
I know. But he's one of the best all time WRs against the best all time man to man DB. Ref has to let that play out. Also like they said in the video Irvin was well known for pushing off and not getting called for it. Moments like this are what we watch for. We don't want the NFL to get like the NBA. Let them fight for the ball.
That wasn’t worser than that Rams interference no call vs the Saints.
Troy should have beaten Prime as soon as Prime slipped. That close out speed was incredible!
This may be the classiest rivalry (still very heated) in all all of sports.
Exactly aikman didn't lead irvin enough if you notice deion was in better position to make a play on the ball
Definitely pass interference. Deon put his arm across Michael's chest like you do when you stop a kid from stepping onto the street. 25 yrs later, and I still remember that play like it was yesterday.
It must be hard to recall all the Cowboys failures. Happy this one sticks out to you
Deion was looking back for the ball. Try reading the rules on Pass Interference.
What about Irvin's blatant pushoff against Davis in the fourth quarter on an out rout that went for a TD that wasn't called? Nobody talks about that.
I love how aikman lobs it up and throws its half the field
Im a dire hard cowboy fan but I love deion as well..Bottom line is the call wasnt made because deion got his head back around to the ball...But it could of went either way..
john doe finally a cowboy fan with some sense in knowing what he's talking about i respect you
john doe , yea but just because he got his head turned around doesn't mean you can blatantly hold the recievers arm down so he can't catch the ball
Well the Cowboys gave them 21 points in the first 10 minutes so it was decided long before.
Just be happy that you went to same team a year later and won a super bowl together.
Sam Elliott narrating anything is so awesome.
It could've been called a p i but it wasn't blatant, Deion did turn and looked back at da ball
They gave up 38 points it didn't cost them the game
PI for sure
Was not pass interference! Dion looked back for the ball along with incidental contact
Irvin was destroying Deion out there.Irvin was tough as hell
Against zone
Irvin had an amazing game but he only caught 2 against Deion while Deion knocked 2 passes down and had another pick against Michael
He was tough that he couldn't take a little contact lololol
Chris Ivory with the amazing 4.20 fantasy points #BlazeIt
This play would have brought them within 3 points, maybe, still not a guaranteed TD and still not a guaranteed victory on the part of the Cowboys, perhaps a 38-35 victory for the 49ers instead of a 38-28, the Niners are still winners of this game and champs that year..
Great no call.... Irvin was pushing off on almost every play
Facts
Irvin had to adjust his route, since it was under thrown, so it's a free ball, not interference, Sanders has a right to the ball too, because Irvin started to run toward Sanders. That was the "Red Lamborghini" coming to save the day, and he did. Not pass interference.
