Dimash is bass to whistle notes....he's Dimash. The Maestro was head judge in the Virtuosos competition for young people in the classics, & met Dimash in December, after his grandson saw Dimash on YT. He was very impressed by Dimash & asked him to be a co-judge on the competition along with Hauser, & his son, Plascido JR., & others. The Maestro wanted to do a duet, & Dimash had always dreamed of meeting & singing with The Maestro, so both made it happen. Dimash learned the song in one day, & they apparently had one rehearsal. Dimash was also ill, suffering from a cough.

There, Dimash sang “Ave Maria” to the accompaniment of cellist Hauser. One of Dimash’s educations is opera; at one time he refused a place in the capital’s opera in order to follow his own path. I’m not too familiar with opera, but knowing Maestro Domingo was Dimash’s idol, I was very curious/interested. I was certainly amazed when I heard this duet. Dimash never disappoints! Even though his operatic skills are impressive, I’m so glad he decided to focus on “neo-classical” crossovers. I love the variety of genres he’s performed so far, and am constantly touched by his soul-piercing vocals! Thanks for your willingness to hear and react to my favorite vocalist, Dimash! Your obvious respect for this artist makes your reaction a delight to watch! Thanks again! ❤️
This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo and he dreamed of meeting and working with him from that time. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to support young classical artists at the invitation of Maestro Domingo. We hope that all his dreams come true and we will be there to support him as he reaches for his dreams.
Oh yes,Dimash can sing much higher. He has sung a D8 whistle tone in concert, He says he is a counter tenor but as he is getting older, he seems to be adding some more lower notes. Loving it all.
I loved watching this entire Virtuosa Show in Budapest, Hungary this winter. Both Placido and Dimash were judges and joined by Hauser (2 Cellos), another favorite of mine. None of the other judges were familiar to me. Hello. This is fantastic performance, thank you for your reaction. I hope you will continue to watch many more performances of Dimash, in The Singer competition in China, 2017 when he was 22.. Then his concert in Bastau, still only 23, as it was just 3-4 months after The Singer. After that try his other concerts in 2018, 2019, in China, Fuzhou and Shenzen. And in Russia. Please also see his concert in Kiev, the last one b4 the Covid pandemic shut down everything. He did a special song, We Are One, for the all the people involved in working to contain it and help those afflicted. Enjoy your journey into Dimashland. .

Actually, Dimash is a tenor, not a baritone, although he can get some baritonal timbre in his lower tenor voice if needed. If you want to listen to some more operatic stuff of his, I recommend "Olimpico = Ogni Pietra) and "El Amor en tí". I would respectfully dis agree, I believe that Dimash is a Baritone and also a Countertenor. Bottom line is, the man is unbelievable and to be cherished.

Great voice. I think there is room for improvement in pronunciation french and coordinating with placido. But what can you expect from one day preparation - perfection? Most dont get to this level even with years of practicing. Very impressed.
