Hello Mr Fanatic. My name is David Albrecht Vern was one of my best friends! Your new farmall 400 and plow was bought new in Waterford from Sam Myers, he had the Farmall dealer ship Waterford where the fire department is now. George Nick was the first owner he then sold it to his hired man, Jack Snider ! Vern bought it from Jack about 10 years ago. George never used the tractor very much, he quit milking cows about 5 years after he bought the tractor .Jack had a machine shop and motorcycle shop ,Snider engines, brilliant man ! ! ! .he just had 4 or 5 long horn cattle. He also drag raced Harley Davidson sportsters. My dad bought a TD 9 from George in 69 or 70. Anyway there all dead now. I still farm on Bagdad road, about two miles south of George Nicks and Jack Snider places . P S Vern was in a couple of your auction videos!
Gotta get some frame weights then she will be mint! BOOM!! Don’t forget to get a manual for the plow so you know how to set up with the Fasthitch plow.
I can't thank you enough for bringing me along. It's always a fun ride. Looking forward to seeing it in the field. I think it would be fun to watch the 8 pulling a disc. I know it wouldn't be much of a load, but it sure would sound and look good. Have a great day and I'll see you later.
Another series of 400 tractors for your collection. Farmall 4 cylinders, IH 6 cylinders, HI Crop, W, Row crop, Wide front, Narrow front. Gas, Diesel, LP. So many. So little time. As always, getting more jealous all the time. Love those auctions. Can't wait to see that 400 turning dirt. P.S. 60 X 100 building might be a good start to house them all.😄👍👍👍👍
I always thought the first IH naturally aspirated tractors with the oval muffler were the 66 series. The 826s had the round mufflers which are the exact same muffler as the 756 diesel. You may be right about the oval being the option, but some certainly did have a round muffler.
Back when I bought the master neighborhood fixit neighbor's narrow frontend fast hitch 450 and 4 16" trip beam mounted plows at the estate auction. He had set out the rt rear wheel to facilitate the plow and furrow relation. The end of that axle housing was cracked. He'd strapped it with a 5/16" X 3 band welded thereto. When we got around to it. I replaced the housing and doing so found two balls missing from the outer bearing. Searching found'em in the bottom of the differental case. All of this to suggest, you might want to be careful . . . 🤔
Again, congratulations ! I see that the 400 doesn't have the large gas tank. That means it's in the early to the mid 56. My 400 has the large tank, because I.H was getting ready for the 450 when mine was built. I think you may start thinking about another shed in the near future. 🤔
Actually, I'm not sure about the Farmalls, but the W-400 it was optional all along. We have 2 1955 parts International 400s before they became the W-400 with the deep tank. Only the first handful of them were International 400, and even most of the 1955 models were W-400.
I’m definitely in love with that 400!! Any who…. The rear light is in the same place as my 300 and the rear light turns on with the headlight switch on the dash 😊
Yup Jason, The switch on the lamp itself is for alternating between red highway lamp and white worklight. You're on top of things :) now Geno will be also.
You gotta beauty there. Even though it's not period correct I would put led lights on it because of how little power they use and how well they work, if you haven't had them yet you won't believe the difference they make. Worth every penny. I would love to have a low hour tractor like that for sure, it's almost a shame to work it but that's what it was meant for. Enjoy, can't wait to see them in action this year!
I think you should move your metal building to the left and extend your barn for more tractor storage like you did the other side. Moving that metal building would not be too hard to do. Jack it up and put some 6x6 timbers under it, chain each side together then pull it with your tractor, I think you have at least one tractor, lol. That would make a good video.
Live the good life man. Love the 826 and the 400. Just a few acres was talking a while back about generational choices on what tractors they want to have around. I love the letter series. But 400s and 450s seem like a niche that is going to take off around here. Kind of like what I had said about a 140 vs super A just reversed.
Very nice Gino awesome I'm happy for you. Made me smile to see how excited you are to own it. I agree on the flapper on the muffler you have it the right direction. Have a good day.
I say do it. Put the loader on the 756 makes alot easier to steer. I'm planning to put my bought 100 bucks 2000 loader on my 560 diesel once I get the engine rebuilt and Ta fixed. Congratulations on the 400 and the 3 bottom plow you stole. 😊😊😊👏👏👏👏
Well, here's and argument for ya, keep the loader on, you can use it as a plow tractor. That loader will give you plenty of front end weight. I did this with my old JD 3010D, I'd leave the loader on when I plowed, took it off for other field work. Worked great that way. I'd rather have a little too much oil than not enough. If I had the money and was at the auction, I would've gone after that 450, those were and still are sweet gems in my opinion, even if they were gas guzzlers. Great video as always, cheers :)
That is one beautiful tractor, itll be great to see it shine up those blades. Those M, Super M, 400, and 450s are such handy tractors to have even today. I have a narrow front 400 with a fast hitch that gets used to rake hay and blade the driveway among other small jobs.
Nice machine thing must be going good for you picking up all this stuff...we always said on our farm in the day the 400 was twice the tractor of the our M, very well balanced bailing tractor for us on our hills had more power and TA was godsend on it plus the live PTO.
Nice 400 and plow Farmall Fanatic. I plowed a lot with a Farmall 400 diesel in high school back when we had one. I think your idea of putting the IH 2000 on the 756 gasser makes sense. I would like to have a loader just like that for my 560 gasser.
They're almost two different tractors completely... One is a draw bar with a loader on it and the other one has all the bells and whistles ever offered on the 400
Excellent video Gino :) also when got nice Farmall 400 plus plow went for road she looks she be well take care of and want hope feilds go plowing get to work Lol! Also very nice sound on low idle too agree 👍 and purring like Kitty cat ! New exhaust 856 sound excellent and ready to go do some work too! Welcome on encouraging you getting always at auctiom sales Gino ! Weight on new 400 Farmall thats lots $ for sure and pay of in long run when get them too!
She’s a nice 400 for sure. You have a good collection of nice Farmall’s. Give that light switch a spin up on the dash and I’ll bet the rear light comes on. That switch on the rear light changes the function from red to work or off I believe. Have fun with your new toy!
Considering the hydraulic noise, and the fact the engine oil is overfilled. When you have finished your service keep a close eye on the engine oil level. These are notorious for the front seal in the pump to leak hydraulic fluid into the engine through the front cover. Just keep a code eye on both fluid levels. I run hy Tran for hydraulic fluid in my 300. Keeps things much quieter. Nice find !!!! Congrats !!!!
Rear light shouldn't have been on the left side of any 400. 450 it was moved to the left. Wonder if it had a 450 battery box put on it at some point? Looks great, sounds great. Lesgo brandon

I know of you. I think you are a Ford tractor guy if I'm not mistaken. So this would make me the 4th owner...very cool. Thanks for the information 👍
What a great find...my Dad was an IH dealer and I was born in 55...I imprinted on that tractor...red daddy😂
Thank you, the rain 🌧 cap is on the CORRECT WAY just for the reason that you mentioned 😀 😊
Absolutely
The ole M needs some love sitting out in the yard lol
It was just parked there... I was using it to pull logs around
Great looking tractor! I could tell how proud of it you are!! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Thank you
Congratulations on the new addition to the fleet! Boom 💥
Thanks 👊
Wow that 400 looks beautiful my dad had a 55 4oo dad decided it needed a cab well at the he worked in a welding shop and built a custom cab for it
Nice that would have been quite the sight
Gotta get some frame weights then she will be mint! BOOM!! Don’t forget to get a manual for the plow so you know how to set up with the Fasthitch plow.
I said in the preview I liked that 400. You're right FF. According to Tractor Data, that is a 56.
It's the nicest one i've ever seen
Looks like a big BOOM

That is a good looking combo.
Hopefully you can get another shed this year. Glad auction season is here. Those are my favorite videos. Very nice 400!
Nice piece, sounds great.
Made me sad seeing the M getting treated like that. That was the tractor that started it all.😢
Getting treated like what
@@FarmallFanatic sitting out like that
I'm still waiting for the under the hood reveal on the 826 😜
Ahahaha
Nice addition! Can’t wait to see the 400 plowing 💥 No doubt you made the right choice 👍
I'm hoping tomorrow
Always been a big fan of the 300 and 400s with the chrome emblems
Gorgeous WFE 400!!.. and it also sounds quite stout as well!!
Thank you it looks really nice in person
The size of the tires😮. What a beauty!

❤😊THE OVAL IS THE OPTIONAL MUFFLER 😊😊

It's optional for my 706 German diesel ALSO !!
I can't believe the price you got on the plow. Very nice 400. Good luck with it.
Yeah, I just started the bid off and it stopped right there
Back when I bought the master neighborhood fixit neighbor's narrow frontend fast hitch 450 and 4 16" trip beam mounted plows at the estate auction. Nice looking setup. Can't wait to see it in action. Took my super a out and mowed stalks today. Can't wait to plow
I can't wait
Love the new addition! Another Happy Red Day to you!
Thanks 👊
❤awesome ❤
Very very nice 400 and plow, that was a buy! Looking forward to more auctions
You're right, it does look even better than it did on auction day. I think you got the buy of the day, at least from what I saw. Awesome get, brother!
I really did...thanks
That 400 is a nice unit. I think you made the right choice going with that over the SMTA or the 450. It’ll look good with that 4 bottom behind it.
Definitely
Nice looking tractor!
Thanks 👊

That "pump whine" is normal for those pumps. My SMTA is like that.
I’m definitely in love with that 400!!

Agree
The old 400’s bring up a lot of memories, plowed many acres on a 400 with a 2 bottom tumble plow. Take care FF🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Tumble plow would be cool to have
Look good with an New Idea corn picker, of course! BOOM!
Very nice Gino awesome I'm happy for you. Made me smile to see how excited you are to own it. I agree on the flapper on the muffler you have it the right direction. Have a good day.

Burch here in NC carries a lot of parts like you said. They have quite a bit of stuff for Cubs and A’s including implements.

You could put the front rims in behind the hubs and it should be close to center of rear tires
