  • On the shore of the Gulf of Finland, in Strelna, there is the State Complex “Palace of Congresses” - the residence of the President of the Russian Federation. The architectural dominant of this delightful palace and park ensemble is the Konstantinovsky Palace, the history of which began more than three hundred years ago.
During this time, the palace experienced periods of decline and prosperity in different centuries and under different owners, it suffered from a fire, but it was restored, its fate is interesting and difficult. Its history began at the beginning of the 18th century, when Peter I chose Strelina Manor, which had a favorable location, to build his summer residence.
Left without an owner, the palace gradually collapsed, although it was declared a “first-class architectural monument.” During the war with Nazi Germany, the palace suffered severe destruction. In the fifties, restoration work was carried out and cadets of the Arctic School (LAS) became the “owners” of the palace.
In the 21st century, to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the city, the palace and park were restored. Now the Marine Residence of the President of the Russian Federation is located here. Officially it is called the “State Complex “Palace of Congresses”. Organized excursions to Strelna allow everyone to visit the Konstantinovsky Palace.
