The scene in the warehouse where Bob is shooting the hung KKK members that then turn into a Karen a cop, Trump, and a Jan 6th terrorist is such powerful visual. I love Bob's unapologetic attitude
OK, Jan 6th insurrectionists, traitors. And, yes, actually definitely also terrorists. They used terror as a tool to attempt to overthrow the US government. Just watch the footage.
The highest form of what it means to be an artist. Unapologetic, political, intersectional, irreverent, representational. I have said it before, Bob is one of the best to come out of the Drag Race. My absolute favorite queen. The imagery at the end is everything. ❤
The end made this old white lady in Texas CRY the first time and almost every time since ha 💛💛 These lyrics, every visual, if you are Human and have read one book this is powerful.
@@AliKaytishI'm also a white lady, and I almost cried. It's so powerful, I love it so much. I also thought it was cool how Bob used the same general imagery/set as Childish Gambino's America (another amazingly powerful song.)
In my country, it was common growing up for people to make fun of black people who wore yellow. They'd say we looked ugly in yellow and it made us look extra dark and how it glowed on us like a highlighter or glowstick. It was strangely powerful to see Bob looking stunning in all yellow surrounded by beautiful yellow cloth everywhere. Idk it just made the little girl in me smile so see everything so unapologetically black throughout the video and ending on that specific shot. I don't even know if that thing about insulting yellow and orange on black people was common in America too tbh.
I grew up in Louisiana, and when I was younger I used to hear the same things. Even from other black ppl. Comments like that really do stay with you and can cause so much self hatred. I'm still trying to unlearn some of those brainwashed ideas.
@@tinimemeyI grew up in LA, too. In the 1970s. I am pasty white, and my life has been made richer by POC... friends *and* strangers. My workplace is 95% POC and I am very grateful to be accepted as a peer there. On a shallow/less serious note, the darker a person's skin, the better yellow looks on them. Case in point: Bob the Drag Queen.
My aunt told me this story about the color red -- that it was a racist white stereotype that "'n----s' love red," so she refused to wear it for years. They really are jealous.
Thanks to the artists like Bob I hope soon a phrase "Feels so good to be .." would be normalised. I want to be proud of who I am and not look racist. Every colour is beautiful!!! Everyone is beautiful!!! Feels so good to be human.
God this is amazing. The final shot of bob looking so regal, royal, proud, beautiful and black paired with Basit's golden vocals. tears are litterally streaming down my face rn😭😭😭😭😭💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Can we all appreciate the beauty in the chorus vocals? The control and expression honestly are like heavenly fingers plucking a golden harp, especially when it goes acapella at the end.
I don't know if I'm extra sensitive today but the chorus has me sobbing like a baby, even the twerking had me shed a tear. 😍Thank you ancestors for fighting for us and surviving so we could hear this!
This song is a MOMENT. I haven't stopped listening to it since it dropped this morning! Love the subtle RENAISSANCE-reference with the "Halo"-esque Hat and the glass windows! So proud of you Bob. Keep up the incredible work and activism!

I literally had to collect myself after watching this. It’s… So genuinely, unapologetically, undeniably BLACK. People of color, queer or not, should be proud of the message on display here. So much powerful imagery, inescapable words, and a confidence that cannot be shaken. I hope to have the assuredness of these incredibly talented humans someday.
Bob, Ocean Kelly & Basit are amazing & this song & music video are beautiful & powerful. 💖 Really appreciate everyone's incredible artistry. Also the vocals 🥺💖💖 . I and so many will have this song and video on repeat. 💖

Amen! That's who they are underneath, ppl you see every day.
The funny thing is real Africans won't appreciate how black Americans are appropriating their culture. Bob would not survive a day in Africa.
