You did an amazing job navigating the very real human processes in arranging to have your vehicle towed and repaired. Each step you were thoughtful of not only your own predicament but also of the context the different services were under in greeting your request. That may be less of a skill as it is a superpower. Way to go!
Hang in there Joy! You will have it resolved. One small advice is after they finish work on your car, check everything to make sure it’s working properly. Good luck.
Hi joy sorry that happened. The latch probably needs to be adjusted. Same thing happened to me to my drivers door except it was the reverse. The door unlatched but wouldn’t open. So I went back to the collision center and they unscrewed the latch with a t30 and moved it over a little and closed perfectly. I had some rubber on the old door for sound dampening so probably contributed since the new door panel didn’t have it. Also how’s the new lights, more or less bright
We learned a lot from your experience, even though it wasn't fortunate. Thanks for sharing the details. I’ll never drive during the weekend anymore (just kidding). : )
Its a fuse most likely. I doubt its bodyshop accident related, but the charger has blown a fuse or two. It prevents the doors on a tesla from closing or locking, or the opposite, the doors lock and wont unlock. Thats a real problem unless you have a windows down! Its also possible its the mechanical latch too and/or fuses.
I wonder how much of this is due to body shops not having an understanding about repairing EVs. I know it’s a “”Tesla approved” shop but due to there just aren’t many people trained on this Tesla can’t be too picky
I know you want to show how long the car will last but you should just lease the base Model 3 redesign and share that experience with your audience. We would love your thoughts on it and it can be a business expense for the TH-cam channel.
AAA is your answer for all your towing needs. Why deal with insurance for all that bs? Not only that, AAA will tow any car that you're in whether it's yours or not. I've used AAA for other people more than myself. 85 bucks a year. Can't beat it.
Haha, that's harsh especially when Joy never whined about it. I was nervous when Joy reported the issue was debris related while trying to remove the glue residue. 😅(The decorative adhesive looked fine and intact before the repair.)
Joy thank you so much for sharing your experience. It was so helpful to know I am not the only one that sometimes think the worst when it is a simple fix.
Very good to know you are well and the repair is completed! I know sharing your experience helps others! Take Care
Glad your car is back to normal!👍
Glad you got through it. Get well.
Glad things worked out in the end.

Glad it was so simple! Sorry for your hassle

Haha!
If you rolled the window down, would the door close now?
No she said she tried that
Glad you got it fixed sorry you had to deal with that. Most insurance stuff sucks to deal with regardless
Thank you for that information ❤

Did you watch the whole video before commenting? 😂
Do you have the 2018? I really want to get one. How’s the 2018 holding up? Noises or anything small but annoying? How many miles have you put on it?
I was wondering where u unable to Wind down the window manually?
Huh?
Hey joy im loving the ambient lights you have in your Tesla when did you get that done? And have you done a video on it by any chance??
Yes I have done a video on the lights. Got them off of Amazon.
Go Joy
Tesla towed the car or the car insurance company towed it?
Tesla isn’t a towing company.

Not all shops can be Tesla certified since Tesla has a rigorous certification process.
Wish Tesla would give us options to have normal door handles.
Get AAA Premiere and save all the towing hassles. They show up faster than Tesla roadside.
No thank you. Tesla insurance covers it.
Signup for AAA road side service . So you won’t have to use your insurance claim for towing.
No need to spend extra money if Tesla insurance already has roadside assistance.
I know you want to show how long the car will last but you should just lease the base Model 3 redesign and share that experience with your audience. We would love your thoughts on it and it can be a business expense for the TH-cam channel.
If you pay for the car then sure I’ll switch.

I can save $85 a year by using my Tesla insurance roadside assistance. 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry about all this Joy
Hello Joy, since it was a self-inflicted problem due to the bling, who covered the cost of the tow(s) and body shop repair?
It was related to the previous repair.
Ugh, sorry for all the hassle you had!
Self inflicted issue
No it’s related to previous repair where they left the door open for too long.
Haha, that's harsh especially when Joy never whined about it. I was nervous when Joy reported the issue was debris related while trying to remove the glue residue. 😅(The decorative adhesive looked fine and intact before the repair.)
Yes. I’ve had the customized door handles for 2 years and had no issues with them until the driver side was repaired.
Joy thank you so much for sharing your experience. It was so helpful to know I am not the only one that sometimes think the worst when it is a simple fix.
So If you haven’t got Tesla insurance and a different insurer then what Joy? 🥲
You tell me!
