I share how to make healthy and delicious braised whole fish with live tilapia sold in Asian supermarkets very easily in the United States. The Chinese New Year in 2023 is coming. Chinese people have a tradition of eating fish during the New Year, wishing people an abundance and surplus every year. In the US we can buy live tilapia in Asian supermarkets. Instead of the traditional pre-marinating and pan-frying, I simply boil the fish, resulting in a very tender and flavorful braised whole fish that our family of five love. Tilapia is originated in Africa. The USDA lists it as one of the healthy fish. It is recommended that you eat more because tilapia not only contains extremely high protein, but also rich in potassium, selenium, phosphorus, vitamin B12, vitamin K, etc. The traditional Chinese way of braised fish is marinated first, then pan-fried, and finally boiled. American home kitchens are all open. In order to avoid the smell of fried fish and also eat healthier, I simply boil the fish, which is surprisingly delicious. I hope everyone will give it a try.
