You might have had a lucid dream. I've had them before, actually many. I have had a few "waking dreams" too. I had a waking-dream once years after my grandma passed. I was entering her house through the front door. I could see my hand push the door open. I walked in, turned to the left passing the den, padding the living room, passing the kitchen, through the kitchen door to the garage. I open the door and there is my grandmother there smiling at me. I was so at peach. And she was glowing, like a light around her. She was saying hi to me during a time I needed her.
