How to SPEND 24 HOURS in Arequipa | Peru's MOST UNDERRATED city?

- Arequipa, known as the white city due to all the architecture made of white volcanic stone. But Arequipa is also unknown and an underrated city to most tourists coming to Peru. I mean, before you stumbled across my video or done some research on where to travel in Peru, have you even heard of Arequipa? Probably not right?
Well, this city is the perfect stop to begin your acclimation to your final destination of Cusco. Sitting at 2,316 meters or 7,661 feet above sea level, this is the perfect introduction to an elevated altitude to those travelers who live at sea level. Arequipa is situated between several volcanos and is close to the Colca Canyon. But this city is a true gem. The architecture is vastly different than other Peruvian cities. There is so much to see and do, whether you prefer free activities, museums, churches, or diving into local cuisine and drinks, there is something for everyone. Arequipa will not disappoint.
We originally planned to stay 2 full days but we unexpectedly won a free flight over the Nazca lines which resulted in a night in Nazca and since we have a deadline to get to Cusco for the Salkantay Trek, we unfortunately could only stay one night in Arequipa, which I am sadly disappointed in. Is it doable to see most of the sights/tourist attraction in 24 hours? Yes, absolutely because as you can tell from my video, we did and I felt like we got a good grasp of what Arequipa had to offer. But I could have easily spent more time here really immersing myself with daily life.
