- After 1.5 years I have finally done a van tour video!! This is my first attempt at a “cinematic style” video so be gentle. The cargo van conversion took approximately 6 months to complete finish to end but are van builds ever really done?!
I knew I was going to be in the city most of the time, so I designed a stealth van build that way parking overnight would not be an issue. Van life has many different styles of van conversions, everyone builds something specific for their situation and this is mine. This van life tour full time living has actually taken me many times to make so I am glad it is finally done and am happy to share my chevy express van build or chevy express van conversion.
This is not just another urban stealth camping van tour with obvious flaws in it because I put extra effort into making this for stealth van living and I am happy that this van was my intro for van life Canada. Full time van life is not for the faint hearted, nor is urban camping van.
Hopefully my STEALTH VAN TOUR has given you some ideas or at very least some inspiration!!

Just a suggestion, when you put the Fridge on the front and sunlight is heating the fridge, it will probably Consumables more power to keep the inside cool.

I would add some plywood around the roof rack to stealth the solar panels.
( I will do it at my ninicamper.)
Stealth camping becomes more important.
Because to park overnight is not allowed everywhere. (how stupid)
So don´t make attention. Even not at thieves etc.
Sometimes it is not allowed to travel for fun only - because of anti-Corona rules.
So better your vehicle doesn`t look like an rv or camper.
Mine looks like a handcrafter van. (And it was one).

I finally found a build that suits me! Yours! I am very interested in any plans you made to build the bed. Actually, pretty much the whole thing. I would make some minor changes that work better for me. I'm in Phoenix and will need someone to do the work for me, but I really like this build. I'm moving back to Seattle to be a stealth vandweller.

I'm doing city-stealth too!! I'm studying my Masters, and started vanlife after a REALLY dodgy real estate agent caused me to be homeless. It's wonderful to see another city-stealth-vanlife. :) Love your build. Well done.
Where I live the life, there's not much need for stealth. Thanks to all the kava bars that are open 24/7/365, and the open minded folk that hang there...
I imagine that when I do roll my wheels on out of here, I will need to adapt to the stealth mode.
I have a house, but allways be afraid, if i become homeless.
So it´s better to have a mobile home too, for the worst case.
Because absolute homeless ist too terrible.
Literally living that as well.
a real estate agent cant cause you to be homeless...

I have been looking at a lot of van conversions on TH-cam...including professional ones from larger businesses....and yours is one of the best! I would buy this one over many others I have seen on TH-cam well done! You could even start your own van conversion business based off of this build it is that good.

I love this! All I need is a bed, microwave, fridge and table. I would take it to work to take breaks and eat my lunch in here- away from people. ❤️ Really enjoy my time alone ❤️
I absolutely loved everything except for two things. Great work!
1) it’s a Chevy.
2) it’s a large bed.

This is the perfect size vehicle. Not too small like a SUV where you have just enough space and not too large like a sprinter where it's easier to actually drive around.
I've been 10 years in my van. Just did my 2nd refit. Nice to see the practical and useful approach you have. I realised there is such a difference between people who live in their vans full time and holiday weekender tourists in the sustainability and priorities. For me a double bed, huge solar, 260AH Gel Batteries, Upgraded Alternator, Fridge and 2 Burner Stove come before all else. Good stuff bro.
Wow 10 years 😮 how did you cope in all that time what with showering and toilet related situations? Do you have any videos of your van?
@@nicktubara Hi, thanks for asking. For showers, If you need a hot shower, you can buy an electric heater that you turn on half an hour before using it, so it only runs for half an hour, but they use 4 litres a minute, so you need extra water capacity (and more filling)for this setup. I just use a 2 litre water bottle. I use a little water to get wet, then liquid soap to lather and the remaining water to rinse. Life is much easier if you don't need hot showers. With toilets, if you need one in the van, a casette is the only real option (unless you want to use a bucket with sawdust???), but then you have to carry the toilet and waste around with you everywhere, and try to find places to dump it (often means staying in a caravan park). I spend most of my time in wild nature, so going to the toilet is a la naturelle. In cities and towns, if i am stealth camping, then toilets are easily available. I have 2 x 2litre "pee bottles" that i keep in the van. No I don't have any van videos, it seems there are plenty of people willing to give their opinions already, it seems there is no need to add to the current cacophany.

And I guess with no shower you must hit the gym or if there's a truck stop/travel stop for a shower? I don't see an issue with the bathroom arrangements. If it works it's not stupid. Awesome build!!
Buy kitty litter in small bags at dollar store for #2 put in bag cuts smell cleaner then just a bag. Love your van set up. Well thought out and clean lines. You did a great job.

I live in a 1925 44 foot boat. I don't think I'd trade it in, but if I was just a renter I'd definitely be all over this type of living/exploring

That is very smart use of the ladder rack. very stealth. You can probably even go near two story buildings just throw a tarp over the solar.

Excellent! I have looked at all kinds of options from legit rvs, trailers, truck campers, including having built out a stealth cargo trailer that I really like but it’s too big. I think I’m back to where you are with a simple cargo van build although I’m thinking I’ll go with the longer van partly because they are readily available. I really like the “deck” on top. Gives it a commercial vibe that no one would give a second look but it is super functional.

I love the way you hide the solar panel making it very stealthy, very smart! Best I've seen so far. I like the setting inside too however I do think the bed is way too big, I would have change it to twin size to the right side of the van and on the left side of the van I would turn that into a desk with a entertainment center monitor and computer which you can do everything on it like watching movies, play games, etc. That would be my perfect dream van. I enjoyed this video, it's definitely my taste for sure, especially that solar panel being hidden which is smart! :) I come back to edit, forgot to mentioned that I love that it looks like a work van. lol! Great job! :) I've seen others and honestly most of them looks awful especially when they added the rims on it that looks tacky and out of place, big wheels and so on, just awful looking and not stealthy at all. Yours is perfect! 👍
