Stumbled across this video since I'm planning a family vacation to Duluth. Your video was so in depth! Thanks for your help in sharing the places in Duluth!
I live in Busan in Haeundae-gu. I walk 5 min to the beach. I love it. I will visit Savannah in April. I will try to visit Duluth. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome! Funny this is that at this moment while I’m typing, I’m actually in Seoul right now visiting family! Busan and Haeundae are some of my most favorite places in all of Korea! I love the international film festival vibes in October!
Hi fellow expat teacher! That’s awesome! After moving back to the States from Korea, I couldn’t live in my hometown anymore. I had to pick a place with the best of both worlds! I love living here!
Hi Peter! Thanks for your comment. I’d love to have a chat with you and talk more about the Korean community in Atlanta and help answer any questions you may have as well as help you in your relocation process. Feel free to reach out to me at 770-906-0748
Brother, I'm planning to move back to Georgia in Spring 2025!! We have to break bread. I'm currently in Lynnwood, Washington, a heavily Korean area. I'm a Realtor as well, but I'm planning to start a business and go into Real Estate Development. You have blessed me with this video. I remember Duluth's Korean community blowing up on Pleasant Hill Road back in the late 80's. I had dinner with my classmate (St. Peter Claver in Macon, GA) back in 2015 at Raku (We have them in Seattle). You should have saw the look on the Servers and host when I spoke Korean to them LOL!!!! They thought I lived in Korea, giggles, I said I live in Seattle. They said, Tacoma, Federal Way or Lynnwood? I said Lynnwood. They said Ohhhhhh. I got mad love that night. Thank you for showing the video Brother!!!!
Me and my boyfriend are planning on going to Duluth from Carrollton for our anniversary this October. I found a lot of places to visit thanks for the video!
Sure! For food: Jang Su Jang, 9292 Korean BBQ, Jang Won Jung; Shopping: H-Mart, Mega Mart, Teso, Jusgo; Cafes: Two Ha's, Hansel & Gretel, Arte 3, and Coffee by Hand; Other: Kpop Nation@@angelofangels
That was a great restaurant! Luckily, we have Choongman Chicken, Harue Chicken, and BBQ Chicken to choose from with BBQ Chicken being my favorite. Also, here's a more updated in-depth tour of Duluth's Koreatown I JUST released it! th-cam.com/video/Yp_fFLJ99DI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

Hi there! Love your video! So, I stay about an hour from Duluth, but I’m very interested in Korean culture. I do not speak Korean (learning), so will there be a strong language barrier ? Also, where would you recommend to visit for like a solo trip in Korean Town?
Thanks for your questions! You won't have any problems with language barrier fortunately. For starters, I recommend checking on Duluth and Suwanee's Koreatowns. GPS "Hmart" in Duluth and "Assi Plaza" in Suwanee, and that will take you to the two major shopping centers with a myriad of Korean owned businesses to check out. Enjoy!

I Uber a lot . Once I made my way to Gwinnett country was interested to see so much Asian influence on that side of town . I live on the complete opposite side of town . The atl area is awesome with culture from everywhere!!!!!!
Hi Katherine! Thanks for your comment and great question! I will be uploading a Koreatown video centered around Suwanee soon. It will cover a Taekwondo academy called United Family Taekwondo at 1295 Old Peachtree Road, Suite 100, Suwanee. Also, closer to Mill Creek, you can try World Champion Takewondo Martial Arts Hamilton Mill on 3235 Sardis Church Road, Suite 102, Buford. Hope this helps!
Hi Tammie, thanks for your comment! Yes, there are several signs in Korean which make it hard to know what they are. A lot of these businesses have Korean-only signs to cater mainly to Korean immigrants in need of their services. The good news is that most of them are businesses that are not restaurant related. For some recommendations, try 9292 BBQ, Jang Su Jang, and Seo Ra Beol!
My daughter and her family just moved to Savannah and I live in korea. Is there korean population in Savannah? I would love to visit Duluth in the near future.
Very nice! What part of Korea do you live in? I lived in Bundang for 5 years way back. Savannah unfortunately doesn’t have much of a Korean population. I hope you can visit Duluth! It will feel like a beautiful mix of Korean and American culture that you’ll like!
My wife is Korean. We currently live in western Washington. We place on selling our house next year and moving to the Atlanta area. My son went to graduate school at University of Georgia. I really like the area. We will both be retirees and looking for a single story home. Do not wish to go over $400,000. Any recommendations. Thinking of Lawerenceville.
Hi Charles, thanks for the comment! Looks like this video was the perfect one given your circumstances! I saw your Zoom request for the 15th. I look forward to talking to you then, and I can make some great suggestions for you in your move!
Hmm.. considering Georgia. Also lived in Korea for a bit but living near NYC. It’s very expensive here so wonder if George cost of living is much better.
Thanks for your comment! One of the reasons why I moved to Georgia to begin with was for the cost of living being more affordable than other cities that I had considered. I need to do more Cost of Living videos for specific cities here, so thanks for the tip! In the meantime, I did cover some of that in these two ATL vs. NYC videos: th-cam.com/video/R4Y9LYVkPiI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TimTrevathan-AtlantaGeorgiaLiving and th-cam.com/video/0cg9yie_Cbk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TimTrevathan-AtlantaGeorgiaLiving
Hello, my gf and I plan on moving to Atlanta, preferably Duluth area. We come from LA. How’s the weather and the overall energy in Duluth? Coming from a big city to small southern town is a big step, but I want peace and quiet. City life is too much. I’m Korean. Ty for sharing ur video!
안녕하세요! Thank you for reaching out! Weather can be hot and humid during the summer, but winters are mild. I know L.A. has some of the best weather in the world! But, perhaps the four seasons in Georgia could be a nice change of scenery for you. If you want peace and quiet, you'll definitely get more of that here versus L.A. The more hustle and bustle life is centered around the downtown Atlanta area. The energy is good here with so much diversity, great good, and families always spending time together on the weekends with plenty of recreational opportunities like parks, sports, festivals, etc. If you want to discuss further, feel free to reach out to me at 770-906-0748!
Great question, Riley! There is a cluster of great hotels around the intersection of Interstate-85 exit 104 with Pleasant Hill Road. Sonesta is a popular one for Koreans as I have seen conferences and seminars being hosted there by all people. Specifically with the Korean community, I have seen skin care companies like Atomy. A specific address for reference is 1775 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth. It's reasonably priced with spacious rooms and ample amenities. For higher class 4-5 star hotels, you'd have to go downtown Atlanta. Another good one in Duluth nearby the Koreatown area is Embassy Suites at 2029 Satellite Blvd., Duluth. Hope this helps!
My daughter and I are moving from NYC to Duluth within a years time. i love everything about Duluth, so excited!!!
