"When you have a good eco, make your enemy think you have no eco When you have a bad eco, harass them with a medieval APC seige tower" - White Phospheru, probably
To be fair, if blue had scouted and dropped the TC earlier, he might have beaten red. When blue was aimlessly wandering, red was clicking up. At that point, I wondered if blue was actually worth the 2k elo; those early game mistakes cost him the match. Now, I sound harsh, but really blue made some good calls in the latter half. They just couldn't make up for the massive problems of the first half. SOML
I just wanna take a second to thank T90, I played the original aoe2tc but I would never still be interested in watching games without this channel, keep it up :)
Someone used this strategy against me at 1100 elo. I lost 30+ vills, but I had a growing mangudai mass which i successfully used to micro down his waves of gbeto siege tower. He resigned despite me not killing more than 5 vills of his. He was that much all -in
No joke, been getting back into AoE again after a good decade of only casually watching videos from time-to-time, and Phosph is doing things I certainly want to dig more into once I get my fundamentals better practiced. Good stuff.
If blue scouted before red base the TC drop would be at least 1 minute faster, this means that feudal never completes, no archers, blue takes a solid lead and red never makes to castle age
Garrison mechanics need a tweak I think. Units coming out of building should have their attack timer reset, and monks should lose 5% faith or something. With good enough micro, garrisoning is wild. For example its theoretically possible to garrison 20 arbs into a castle, have the castle fire, hop out and shoot with the arbs, then hop back in in time for the next castle volley.
Suuuuuch an entertaining game. Really unique for sure. Also loved seeing how Phospheru adapted! That shows he’s far from a one trick pony. But I also really loved how Tatengue mixed things up and made the douche work so well.
Blue's mistake was not continuing to scout when he had the first batch of villagers pinned. Had he found those six vils on stone, Phos wouldn't have been able to swing back around on him
Honestly, the villagers just building a lumber camp rather than going with the original strategy might have been unintentionally genius 🐳🧠. It is very unlikely the opponent scouts random areas when attempting an all in and even if they do, if the economy is so spread out, it is hard to stop, as the villagers can keep on running away and occasionally hopping into towers and town centres.
But if you give it a thought, Phosphoru is playing in a logical way. The usual way players play is more like how a general/king would plan and fight but Phosphoru's way of playing is more like how the troops would really fight... or like a really tactical general.. maybe
In aoe3 theres a similar thing, any warship can garrison units inside and you can garrison artilery on firing mode, so you pop them out, do a volley, and back into the ship. Even in hybrid maps this is really strong, 2 or 3 culverins shots are huge vs frigates
Hey T90 . Just wanted to call out that I appreciate having the YT in the thumbnail. While I do enjoy your streams, I also really like the made for TH-cam stuff when I'm in the mood. Looks like 2024 is going to be a damn good year for you.
Since I started playing de this is for real the first time I’ve seen a siege tower and how it works. This is a lot like how Protoss micro shuttles withe reavers in them in StarCraft or marines in a medical in SC2. I’m legit surprised we don’t see more of this kind of micro
Why can't he just leave the Gbeto under the castle? Murderholes wasn't in and there was no reason to not do it. But I feel like I am missing something obvious
The gbetos would just come out and kill any petard rushing their way. His best solution, as a Persian was probably knights unironically. Fast movement and hard enough to take a few hits.
The fact that Persians don't get Redemption to convert the siege tower(s) is an overlooked weakness of the Persian Douche against Phosphoru's strat. Maybe the siege tower nerf should be all civs can convert them. Absolutely hilarious game!
That Gbeto Siege Tower strat looks seriously strong. That looks like it has the legs to get out of control very quickly. Can't believe I'm saying this but I actually think siege towers could get nerfed if this starts taking off.
God I love Phosphoru. I really want this to be a Tati and Steppe Lancers moment that redefines the meta. I don't know if it wil be but...I want to see it at Hidden Cup. At least once.
They should nerf the speed of siege towers to like .40, it's ridiculous fast they are. Tanking arrow fire is what they are meant to do so that part seems fine.
Why does the Siege Tower have to be so fast? It's used for weird stuff like this only because it's ridiculously fast. Make it the same speed as a Ram and it's balanced.
@@RennieAsh Wait, does the monk have to walk up to the Siege Tower like a Ram? If so, next patch notes will read: "Nerfed Siege Tower by making it convertible from afar."
he is the new hoang but more creative. Anyone that sees the name pop up on the dashboard will groan in fear even though he is a good a few hundred elo min lower than most pros!
10:30 Maybe they patched that in recently. Since you were complaining so much about TCs not hitting anything. Not it's consistently hitting the broadside of a barn 11
The absurdity of an elephant popping in and out of a castle while women throw weapons at it is just amazing.
This game is so derpy haha
Yeah man that really had me giggle :D
Historically, the Gbeto were elephant hunters, so everything but the Castle fits.
The Gbetu's weapon, the Mambele/Kpinga was originally developed to hunt elephants
now they went onto war with them, and killed some...
their ancestors must be so proud... lol
I was here when a 2k elo player was forced into making a Persian War Elephant

No, who's on first
Best parafrase of the day
Ram trying to kill castle, castle trying to kill Gbetos, Gbetos tryng to kill elephant, elephant trying to kill Ram... 😂😂😂
The circle of life.
Phosph: "Fine... I have an extra 5 minutes to waste before I beat you with the same strategy I set out to begin with."
I can't 😆
The two-sided wack-a-mole going on with the castle trying to kill the Gbetos and the Gbetos trying to kill the war elephant
The Sun Tzu of AoE2

Fight where your enemy isn't?
it's interesting that Aoe2, the old man of rts, has finally embraced the "drive-by" tactics of other games with APC's
Mechanized infantry XD
This guy is such a meme, I love him.
Garrison Wars! An Elephant dodging knives
I love how blue thought he had the perfect counter strat, but phosphoru just adapts and carries on :)
Sign of a truly great player.
To be fair, if blue had scouted and dropped the TC earlier, he might have beaten red. When blue was aimlessly wandering, red was clicking up. It's time for my biannual obsession with T90 vids again
same. The algorithm knows I've binged hidden cup before and has started to flood my feed with all his recent videos. Not gonna complain too much. lol
I just wanna take a second to thank T90, I played the original aoe2tc but I would never still be interested in watching games without this channel, keep it up :)
I love the goofy ah siege towers cosplaying as medivacs
Was my thought as well :D
It's just a bunch of drive-bys. Chicago-style AOE.

Would you like to join, I've a team we play at around 950 elo
That was some Matrix style fight between the elephant and ghbeto
No joke, been getting back into AoE again after a good decade of only casually watching videos from time-to-time, and Phosph is doing things I certainly want to dig more into once I get my fundamentals better practiced. Good stuff.
Great to have more ppl join in
I really like these kind of strats to be honest, it's fun, it changes from the meta, it's innovative. Good stuff!
If blue scouted before red base the TC drop would be at least 1 minute faster, this means that feudal never completes, no archers, blue takes a solid lead and red never makes to castle age
And in the second phase scouting that new tc would’ve made him alter up as well. Information as always, the best weapon.
Exactly. Blue showed little interest in scouting until it was too late, just to find out there was nothing to scout except his oncoming demise. :')
As someone who loves going for meme and out there strats on board games and video games I love this.
this guy is something else 😆 I want to see more.
btw red villagers weren't walled in he could've deleted the barracks
That was a fun game to watch
I'd take a lose against red phosphoru any time. That's some incredible innovation there.
Wish Youpudding played Robert Guiscard in Hidden Cup. He deserves it.
"this is not Age of Empires"
to be honest, this could actually be peak of AoE from a creativity perspective . Amazing!!!

Superb. More of this, please
This guy would love Space Marines in Dawn of War. Basically the same thing with Rhino Transports filled with Tactical Marines.
Blue's mistake was not continuing to scout when he had the first batch of villagers pinned. Had he found those six vils on stone, Phos wouldn't have been able to swing back around on him
As a recovering AOE2 addict (stopped playing in the mid 00s), I'm really fighting the temptation to get into DE.
Come on in man :)
I play periodically with an old buddy
Thank you, T90! Thank you, Phosphoru!
bruh T90 really loves this guy
I LOVE IT!!! Great stuff, keep it up bro!
T90 you are flawless and make zero mistakes!
will try this at 800 ELO
Fun-fact: the Gbeto were originally elephant hunters.
18:32 Enter the house of fun
Holy micro on that gebeto + siege tower combo. 5 gebeto ruined everything! monks powerless!
Wooden RC car drifting around in enemy farmland. lmao
Love watching him. The meta can get old at times. Creativity it fun to see.

Phosphoru is simply a creative genius.
The moment blue started making monks threw his opportunity to win. Unfortunate that the castle drop from red was just next to his stable
Petards would counter siege tower. They are great against rams (at 1200-1300 ELO at least). Just keep 2-3 petards in your castle at all times.
Siege tower is too quick to be hit by petards. That would only ever work MAYBE once.
@@pax6833it would make the siege tower respect and fear the castle more if at anytime petards could come out if youre too close
@@pax6833Right now he comfortably sits under the castle, with some luck petards would jump out and destroy the tower, then gbeto are dead.

Eleven rams. What a disgusting strategy.
Sometimes the solution to rams aren't getting the job done is just more rams.
It's like hop in and out of a transport ship in star carft, yeah people should use this more often
Your videos have always been entertaining, but the elephant and gbeto simultaneous pop outs made me laugh more than anything I've seen in this game.
Since I started playing de this is for real the first time I’ve seen a siege tower and how it works. This is a lot like how Protoss micro shuttles withe reavers in them in StarCraft or marines in a medical in SC2. I’m legit surprised we don’t see more of this kind of micro

Mobility. He can run them in an out with the tower, seems critical to be able to roam around and counter anything that pops up.
@@vocs75I meant when he was hopping in and out of the tower to attack the elefant and the villagers repairing the castle
Units inside siege towers should take damage from scorpions. That would fix this strategy
Petard counter imo. Haven’t played in years no idea.
Would at least give the tower a respect of the castle.
The gbetos would just come out and kill any petard rushing their way. His best solution, as a Persian was probably knights unironically. Fast movement and hard enough to take a few hits.
He does not destroy your civ. He destroys your will to live.
I locked my phone in landscape but still held it vertically just so I could experience a fraction of the tilt going on in this game
elephant vs gbeto had me dead lmao
The fact that Persians don't get Redemption to convert the siege tower(s) is an overlooked weakness of the Persian Douche against Phosphoru's strat. Maybe the siege tower nerf should be all civs can convert them. Absolutely hilarious game!
monk cant ever catch siege tower anyway.
he should have started making more elephants instantly after that castle build near TC 2 3 elephants were enough to take care of those rams
Damn, such a good try from blue but hard luck, that siege tower strat is OP af 😂
i would never have thought to use a tower like that
This would be solid with franks too I think. Cause throwing axemen
Now the important question. Can elephant enter a siege tower?
Surprised blue never garrisoned some militia and spearmen inside the barracks then deployed them diagonally inbetween red's barracks and archery.
Phosphoru reminds me of great football players who went unnoticed because they didn't win big trophies.
honestly feels like losing the scout lost blue the game, he had no followup after the tc drop
That Gbeto Siege Tower strat looks seriously strong. That looks like it has the legs to get out of control very quickly. Can't believe I'm saying this but I actually think siege towers could get nerfed if this starts taking off.
Blue needed to switch into Seige and Monks!
I never knew seige towers moved so fast! That's crazy!!
good balance for this would be to make the siege tower speed the same as the ram
I really enjoy Phosphoru games. I Hope he works on an strat using cumans feudal siege Workshop and castle cap ram
An army of rams? How quaint!
its like gta san andreas neighborhood war
seems like castles should automatically prioritize units that can attack, and should reprioritize if a tower empties.
Imagine of _War Elephants_ could garrison in Siege Towers

17:00 I think the siege towers needs to be slower.
My sides, man.... Amazing game LMAO
"BE MY MEAT PLS"
What if Phospherou is just a modern day Napoleon? Makes you think if this man should not be on the front line IRL....
with the necessary research could you convert the siege tower or would you need to get within zero range with the monk?
One way to nerf this strategy would be to make the siege towers lose speed when units are garrisoned inside.
what's the counter to drive by siege towers and rams anyway? Onagers?
We are gonna see some siege towers in HC5. Thanks Red Phosphoru!
They should nerf the speed of siege towers to like .40, it's ridiculous fast they are. Tanking arrow fire is what they are meant to do so that part seems fine.

I petition that this be know as the Malian mazda strat
The Malian Drive-By
Me descargaré tu vídeo con alguna de esas páginas que bajan los vídeos de TH-cam y se lo mandaré a mis amigos por WhatsApp 😜
Fun to watch, probably not so fun to play against
The only solution to this madness is a monk with redemption to convert the siege tower.
Could you trap the Gbeto this way inside the Siege Tower?
Yes but the gbetto will just hop out and ruin the monk
@@MathMagician93i think so
@@RennieAsh Wait, does the monk have to walk up to the Siege Tower like a Ram?

ethiopians. i used to do it all the time years ago on arena with shotel warriors, was a lot of fun.
franks on arena would be fun with that. used it few times against hindustanis.
I want to see Hera or Viper vs this
Love to see a Malian strategy!
