Check the inner tie rod boot, is it filled with power steering fluid (or some since its cut i see) then you have an inner seal leak on the rack. You can rebuild it, buy a shit reman off rock auto or east coast holden has them new. Im sure if you gave him a shout out, hed do a better price on them. Dudes name is Josh Moore, great guy.
Yeah man me too had my stressin! It’s crazy in almost any LS forum with people having any sort of oil pressure dips at wot people just kept suggesting less or more oil. I was skeptical but it works! Oils still nice & clean & no weird issues yet with it
Pretty sure the amount was changed at some point from like 6-6.5 ( I might be lying but thought I read that somewhere). I’ve seen most people usually run .5-1 qt extra so I’m sure me at 8 won’t hurt anything. If I was aerating the oil I’d assume oil pressure would drop
you've blown a seal in the powersteering rack...also just check the connection underneath the radiator, there will be a rubber hose that slides over the powersteering line,it needs to be tightened or replace it with a new clip.
Okay to help with your oil pressure gauge issue. I have an A pillar gauge pod and an oil pressure gauge that I don't need anymore. The pod was on my car but I went with a dual A pillar pod . I'll let you have it for nothing just to help you out. If you want it we need to make arrangement addresses etc. Regards, Tom
What kind of oil pressure gauge is it? I planned on running a dual pod on top of the dash for AFR & for oil pressure but I technically only need the AFR gauge for last step of tuning
Its 100% a power steering leak. A remanned rack is cheap on Rockauto, and i recommend you redo all of your lines as well. These two things are more of a "while you're in there" sort of ordeal. Mine was leaking from that area as well as from my front-axles. It ended up being just my rack for both.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu😥 Just what I wanna deal with on this thing🤣 guess I’ll have to look into racks, go figure I NEVER had a problem with ps on this car until now
@@TJR_Auto You only cleared the problems caused by the fact it was poorly tuned. NOW, it's time to deal with the old car problems. I can give you a list of what I had done to mine over the past year and half of ownership. And it's ALL old-car issues.
Yeah I think this thing just has all tired parts on it suspension & chassis wise. If the 6.0 didn’t fight me so much I would’ve liked to have spent majority of that money on suspension based items. Think the only thing I’ve done is replaced the radius rod bushings & front struts are “newer used” units
That hood you saw is a Stingray Z type hood. Hell I had a set of axles that I no longer need also.

Nice. Glad you figured out the oil pressure thing.
Never heard of adding oil to equal 8 quarts, but a solid solution is a solution.

@@TJR_Auto I hear you. Now I'm I curious about the maximum amount of oil allowed in the car. Misprint somewhere??

Shiiiiii that’s what I was hoping the leak wouldn’t be🤣🥲
No leaks anywhere else just this small drip at the rack
