Great playing, in high pitch of course, and no triggers or large bore instruments in those days. Had a chat with James Scott a few years ago when he adjudicated the Australian Nationals. A very nice down to earth man.

    A wonderful player.
He was also a pretty judge.... he gave first prize to a band I played for in the National finals.

one of the all-time great examples of 'soul' playing...every note sung, whatever the speed at which it was produced...thanks James!

Jimmy Scott played principal cornet with the fifth battalion Leicestershire regimental band in 1939 but was too young to be sent with the band with the BEF. My dad Albert Brown who. I believe, played as his assistant did go and was one on the lucky ones to get back from Dunkirk. He always said that Jimmy was the finest player that he had ever known.

Question for ransome51. What do you use to copy LPs and cassettes to a digital format? I have tried a Citronic AC-1 USB audio capture device for cassettes, and for records, my record deck has a USB output connection.
I've used GarageBand and Audacity to create mp3 files.
None of the transfer systems I have tried, produce a decent quality mp3 file, but I notice that all of the mp3 files you have produced seem much better quality. What is the secret?

Hi I quit recording my LPs several years ago. I was using a SONY CD recorder\player (no longer manufactured) hooked to my Audio Technica direct drive turntable (also not made now I believe)
