    Omg so true about the eco wicks!! I feel like the gripping of the wax hasn’t happened until fairly recently like this year. I never had to put a heat gun to it prior

    I use soy 10 as well , if i cant find it , I’ll use the ccs 12 which has been really good to me & like you I do make my own blend, I’ve had only good results with both as opposed to the 464 i just couldn’t get that HT. Thank you for another awesome video ❣️

    Thanks for this video. I'm excited to try soy 10. I did notice that northstar candle does advertise it as 100% all natural soy wax. This isn't the case though correct since it's a blend?

      Hi! We’re still using soy 10, and add in some beeswax to some of our vessels too, and we use CDN wicks!

    Hi Erica!! I watched this when you first made it and I was brand new to candle making. I’ve tried quite a few types of wax but I did like the Soy #10. I wasn’t taking good notes back then 😢. What are the ounces and diameters of each size vessels you carry? I’m gonna give it another try!! ❤ thank you!

    Hello Erika! I really enjoy your videos and I truly find your personality amazing. I am quite new to this, I live in Austria, EU, and would really like to try the soy10 that you are using but I cannot find it and plus I don't really know what's the difference between soy waxes. I buy all my supplies from candle shack, and there I found the soy golden wax S41 by aak . Would this be close to the wax you are using? Thank you sooooo much for all you super duper cool videos

    Hey !! I really enjoy your channel and have watched most of your videos and sometimes watch them over again !! I do have a question. I saw someone talk about the area you make your candles in it has to be a certain temperature. Is that true and what would that temperature need to be ?

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rebecca! Thank you so much for watching and being a channel member! ❤️
      Are you referring to the temperature in the room that you make candles in? If so, yes! This can make a difference in the outcome of your candles in certain situations. I've heard it's best to make candles in a room that's between 68-78ish degrees fahrenheit (give or take). You especially don't want the room to be too cold because this can cause the candles to cool rapidly and I used to have pretty bad glass adhesion issues and weaker Cold throws when I used to make my candles outside in the winter!

    I have been working with soy 10 and the hot throw just isn’t there compared to other store bought candles. I’ve been using Aztec candle supply for my fragrance oils. Have you had a similar experience with that particular brand of fragrance oil?

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, yes. Aztec has always been a hit or miss with fragrances in soy 10. I would try out some candlescience FO’s or the flaming candle FO’s and see if you get a better throw!

    Hi Erica! Can you give a review of Soy bliss? 1617 carries it.

    • @CorneliaODwyer
      @CorneliaODwyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It performs very similar to Soy 10 but I think it's slightly more premium than Soy 10. It's whiter in color and looks prettier. HT is very similar to Soy10. In my opinion Soy 10 has a better HT. If Soy Bliss wasn't as expensive, I'd use it but the whiteness isn't enough to justify the price. If you are going for premium luxe candles.. then maybe.

    What is the difference with CD wicks vs CDN? Do you think CD wicks would work well with this wax?

    • @CorneliaODwyer
      @CorneliaODwyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer CD wicks with Soy 10 but CDNs work fine. Keeping your FO percentage btwn 8 and 9%

    • @susanjones2395
      @susanjones2395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CorneliaODwyer what is difference between wicks besides the obvious. Like why use an eco over a cd or vise versa?? I've never heard of cdn, what is it's pros in comparison?

    • @CorneliaODwyer
      @CorneliaODwyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@susanjones2395 after testing so many jars and wick ranges. They all burn differently. Eco wicks in my opinion burn a bit too hot no matter the wax. CDN wicks curl to an approximate 30 degree angle, while CD wicks curl to a 90 degree angle. The lesser angle of the CDN wick tends to create a flame with a smaller base. These wicks are wonderful for nuanced wicking issues, allowing for a truly perfect burn.

    How do you know it is food grade
    Paraffin? The manufacturer hasn’t let me personally know? What’s the difference between food grad and non food grade.. obviously knowing the title argument.

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly when the whole paraffin thing came about last year there was a ton of conflicting information. I think I spoke with someone who either didn’t speak English very well or was new to the company because they didn’t know what I meant when I asked if it was food grade paraffin. Then I read that there were a lot of people who spoke with the manufacturer and were told it was food grade And I believe even the admin of one of the candle Facebook groups said it was food grade. Someone even said they went to the facility and was given a tour of the materials.
      The difference is essentially refined vs unrefined paraffin.
      So to be honest I haven’t been personally told, but I read that other people had. I can reach out to them again.

    • @thejoneslounge
      @thejoneslounge 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MemoryBoxCandleCo That makes sense, yes - inconsistent from various sources, it’s been difficult to know what’s right and what’s wrong. I wish the manufacturer would be consistent with what information they give out.

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do too. However I spoke with some other people who have experience working with other wax manufacturers, and they told me that accu blend is actually one of the better manufacturers in terms of honestly. So I guess because the candle wax industry is so under-regulated most manufacturers aren’t required to give out much information about what’s in their products. I just assume mostly everything has paraffin in it now lol

    The reason why Soy10 is good is because it contains a small amount paraffin, so it is less healthy than 100 % soy
