I have a DTC4500. I'm getting 112 error. I'm using the test print, and it 'jams' (more like stops) printing with approx 3cm of yellow - it calls out 112 error. I have cleaned the printer with sticky cards, and alcohol. It still jams at printhead area. I'm out of ideas. The feed pulls cards thru left and right when I remove the ribbon cassette. Is there any help available?

If you have completed standard methods such as clearing jam, doing user maintenance such as cleaning, ribbon calibrations...then we can only suggest having a technician inspect it. There could be issues with a belt, motor, roller, cable connection among other things, that may require service beyond user capacity.
We do offer DTC4500 service, but you may have a local authorized provider in your area. If not, contact us if you would like to obtain service.
NOTE: Please consult the User Guide for troubleshooting to exhaust your self help measures.

Error 112 on a DTC4500 printer indicates an issue with the laminator. This error code specifically points to a problem with the laminator communication, which means that the printer cannot properly communicate with the laminator module.
To resolve this issue, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
      1. Turn off the printer: Before working with any internal components, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
      2. Check the laminator connection: Ensure that the laminator module is securely connected to the printer. Look for any loose cables or connectors and make sure they are firmly seated.
      3. Remove and reseat the laminator module: Gently remove the laminator module from the printer, then carefully reattach it, ensuring that it's properly seated and connected.
      4. Inspect the laminator module for damage: Check for any visible damage to the laminator module or its connectors. If you notice any damage, it might be necessary to replace the module.
      5. Update firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause unexpected errors. You can download the latest firmware from the HID Fargo website.
      6. Turn the printer back on: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.
After completing these steps, try running a test print to see if the Error 112 has been resolved. If the issue persists, it could indicate a problem with the laminator module or its communication with the printer. In this case, it is recommended to contact HID Fargo technical support or an authorized service provider for further assistance.
If you need any additional guidance or encounter other issues, please don't hesitate to ask.

Error 14 on an HDP5000 printer typically refers to an issue with the ribbon. This error code usually indicates that the ribbon has either broken or is not moving correctly. To resolve this issue, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
      1. Turn off the printer: Before working with any internal components, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
      2. Open the printer cover: Open the top cover of the printer and inspect the ribbon cartridge.
      3. Inspect the ribbon: Check if the ribbon is broken or if there is any visible damage. If the ribbon is damaged, you'll need to replace it with a new one. The part number for the standard YMCKO ribbon is 84051.
      4. Verify ribbon alignment: Make sure that the ribbon is properly aligned and seated in the ribbon cartridge. If the ribbon is not aligned correctly, it can cause the error. Gently remove the ribbon cartridge, reseat the ribbon, and reinstall the cartridge.
      5. Clean the printer: Use a Fargo cleaning card (part number 85976) to clean the printer. This will help remove any dust or debris that could cause ribbon movement issues.
      6. Update firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause unexpected errors. You can download the latest firmware from the HID Fargo website.
      7. Ribbon sensor check: If the issue persists after following the previous steps, there might be a problem with the ribbon sensor. In this case, you may want to complete a ribbon and film sensor calibration. After that it is recommended to contact HID Fargo technical support or an authorized service provider for further assistance.
Once you have completed these steps, turn the printer back on and check if the error has been resolved. If you continue to encounter Error 14, please let me know so I can provide additional guidance.

@SupportDepartment I'm getting error 14 and it mentions a feeding problem. Keeps telling me it's the wrong card when it isn't. The roller beneath the feeding tray rolls forward and then backwards continuously.

Edge of the card goes between the double rollers and won't go further

Error 200 on an HDP5000 printer indicates a card jam issue. This error occurs when a card is stuck in the printer or if there's a problem with the card feed mechanism. To resolve this issue, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
      1. Turn off the printer: Before working with any internal components, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
      2. Remove the card hopper: Gently remove the card input hopper and card output hopper from the printer.
      3. Open the printer cover: Open the top cover of the printer to access the card path.
      4. Locate the jammed card: Carefully inspect the card path and find the jammed card. If you see a card stuck in the printer, gently remove it using your hands or a pair of tweezers, being careful not to damage the printer's internal components.
      5. Clean the printer: Use a Fargo cleaning card (part number 85976) to clean the card path, rollers, and other internal components. This will help remove any dust or debris that might cause card jams.
      6. Inspect the card feed rollers: Check the card feed rollers for any signs of wear or damage. If the rollers appear worn or damaged, they may need to be replaced. The part number for the card feed roller is 86177.
      7. Reassemble the printer: Once you've completed these steps, reassemble the printer by reinstalling the card input hopper, card output hopper, and closing the top cover.
      8. Turn the printer back on: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.
After completing these steps, try running a test print to see if the Error 200 has been resolved. If the issue persists, it could indicate a problem with the card feed mechanism or sensors, and you may need to contact HID Fargo technical support or an authorized service provider for further assistance. If you need any additional guidance or encounter other issues, please don't hesitate to ask.
