If you own a 2020 or newer Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited or RT Limited, then you may have noticed that the rear trunk lid shock that came equipped from the factory is not quite strong enough to hold up the lid on the rear top case when it's open. This can be a nuisance when you're trying to load and unload your trunk with cargo for that next road trip. To address this issue, we've teamed up with Show Chrome to bring you a heavy-duty replacement shock that not only keeps your trunk lid open but also provides lift support. So that you can load and unload your cargo with ease, without having to worry about manually holding up the trunk lid.
I added a luggage rack last fall to my 2021 Spyder RTL and the original truck lift strut couldn't support the additional weight of the rack. This is exactly what was needed, I ordered it last week and arrived in a few days and installed it that same evening it arrived. Easy to install, only took between 5 and 7 minutes (start to finish) and works great. Thanks Slingmods and Show Chrome.

How did you expose the top 5mm bolt. It is covered by the shroud covering the shock.

Two thousand twenty one RT limited Don't have shocks on a trunk lid. This is the 1st that I've seen this Unless they For got to put mine In.😮
Hello George, I just looked at the shop manual for the 2021 RT Limited. There is indeed a trunk shock on the 2021 RT Limited model just like on the 2020 model shown in the video. It's hardly visible until you remove the passenger backrest pad.
I installed it on my 2021 last week and it worked perfectly. Very easy install, takes about 10-12 minutes or so. Worth the $$!
