I just got this bag and love it so far! Previously I've had to use aerobars to keep all my accessories on the bike (phone, lights, gopro, gps), with this setup, I can finally keep all accessories without taking all the handlebar space. The stability and ease of (un)packing is also great! And the expandable storage allows me to take one less bag on my trips, so no real weight penalty compared to the lighter alternatives (at least for me). There's no way around it, Tailfin bags are expensive, but if you're ready for the investment, they are so worth it! I can't wait to go on my Morocco bikepacking trip next year!
@esavirtanen6418 to be seen over time, but so far, it's been perfect on belgian cobbles and a bit of offroad. But I trust that their R&D riders have put theirs through plenty of rough terrains for it to go in production :)
How's it work with cables - assuming on a mtb? This is a big potential win as I've destroyed some with a bar bag previously. Resulting in some mid trip mechanical bodges
@CycleXplorer i use it on a gravel bike with integrated cables, but I can't see any issue, as the bag is never touching the frame, so no rubbing at all. If assembled with the correct torque, the stability of the bag is solid, as I ride on Belgian cobbles without suspension, I believe there shouldn't be any trouble on mtb with suspension
Hi Josh is the flat bar version you are showing a Small or Large size? Also is there any reason not to use the drop bar version on a flat bar setup? Thanks !!
Für mich zu teuer 🫰 und zu schwer. 😥 Eine Tasche wiegt ja mit Lenkerhalter schon 1 kg ohne Inhalt. Schade ☹️ . Grüße aus San Diego von meiner Panamericana Bikepacking Radreise von Deadhorse Alaska nach Ushuaia Argentinien. 🚴
Thanks Josh, cheers for putting the bag through its paces! We can't wait to see where you take it next.

How does the mount hold up? Should be plenty of torque on the mounting point to the handlebar.

Love the mounting brackets on that.

Both bags are there large version, and yes you could use either bag on either flat or drop bar without issue
Nice One Josh - these look great!! Bit Pricey, but the good stuff always is :)
Get what you pay for…. (IMO)
Hello
Can you put aerobar next to it on mtb bar ?
Nice. How does it hold the shape when empty?
Josh, it looks like your front tire is mounted in the wrong direction. As for the bags; looks convenient, only the weight is less than ideal.
It is! But I can’t be bothered to swap it round 😀
The weight penalty wasn’t mentioned. Just the hardware weight’s more than some complete systems)
Want to show it works with aero bars?
Cool but out of budget, I'm guessing, at least for me. Back to the DIY harness made from an IKEA plastic bag dispenser. €1.50.
If your budget stretches a bit further, I'd recommend a drybag and voile straps.
@@blahqwe That's exactly what I use. It can be a bit fiddly to get the dry bag on and off but very solid and with the virtue of being low-tech.
@@weeringjohnny I wish I was rich like you to be able to afford voile straps. I'm still using some string I found in the rubbish bin.
@@oldanslo I can do you best rates on a bridging loan to tide you over till things pick up.
