The SEA CUBE CGN-9 was such a ridiculous design, but can't say it doesn't stand out. The amount of missile launchers and weapons she carries is also worth mentioning, especially as all future CGNs were on smaller hulls and nowhere near as armed to the teeth. In fact, Long Beach's brutish design & loads of weapons made her closer in spirit to Russian warship designs.

I always liked the Long Beach due to her being the last actual cruiser hulled ship the USN had. And I think I saw her once when I was a kid because I remember that detail when me and my dad went kayaking in the harbour here in the Caribbean and went alongside her. I have sadly long since lost the hat that a sailor tossed me. Anyway here is a question for you. It is going to be a long while before allied navies get added (if ever). But what is an allied navy vessel you would like to see added and why?
Did this patch drop today? Last time I played (Saturday, I think) there was a new patch but I don't remember ships being added. I've noticed one thing that either I'm doing wrong or needs work - carrier ops AI. I was playing one of the workshop scenarios and had a number of planes out to deal with Soviet threats. I wound up having the majority returning when I desperately needed to get some more Tomcats airborne (the threat brief didn't say anything about Tu-16 Badgers!). Unfortuantely, it appears that the AI prioritizes aircraft RTBing, and you can't launch anything until that queue is clear (which is bad, because I had 11 A-6s, 4 F-14s and 1 RA-5 in the landing queue). Even though technically I should have been able to launch from the two forward catapults, even while recovering. Something to keep in mind next time I'm doing carrier ops, for sure. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and safe travels in January, sir!
Uniquely to the Enterprise, if you use the free camera to clip the camera into the hangar deck, there's a mural on the hangar dividing door. No idea if it's accurate or not, maybe someone who was on the Big E can comment on it.

The 49 was a bitch to centerline, you have to guess when to stop the rotation and let it slowy coast to a nesr stop and then try to turn it off right at 180 , you couldn't turn it off at rotation speed because you might shatter the brake pads, but if you turned the rotation off too early it might stop at 140-160 and you have to start it up again.
Also had a dumbass officer that thought we could centerline the furuno and 73, they had no brakes and just spun with the wind. But we had to go aloft to prove to him they spun freely. Had another officer make me go up and install the hurricane stow pins on the 49 because san Diego was supposed to be getting high winds (maybe 50 mph) when the tech manual said the stow pins weren't needed until something like 100mph 🙄

I think if you'll be out for a month it's probably a good time to make a few more explanation videos, perhaps more about how radar works? Even some IRL v. in game might be fun (at least what you can talk about). Videos explaining concepts are kind of timeless because the concepts won't change, so you won't need to worry so much about if there's a massive patch Jan 15th😅
They are real. The Enterprise and Long Beach had the SCANFAR system but later they were taken off so depending on what pictures you see of Enterprise or Long Beach you might see them without it. The Long Beach has two models, one with and one without, but in the game presently we only have the model of the E with the SCANFAR system attached. Hopefully later we get a later fit of her with that system removed as well.
Thought I was imagining things, then thought you'd time shifted the vid when I kept seeing Long Beach alternating between leading then trailing formation. But, how'd TWO Long Beach hulls end up in the game in one formation? I guess it's permitted... More... Last time I saw a model of the Big E was in 2016, in Gwacheon Central Government Complex, south west of Seoul. The hobby shop, which I stumbled upon by pure chance, had a model of her and it was something like 8 feet long. It was enthralling to see my fav CVN as a model that huge, on display, adorning a hobby shop. I forgot the price tag on it. When I returned Feb 2017, the shop was vacated. Another hobby shop in Sindorim, a smaller district west of Seoul, had an LHD, running at almost 7 feet. Koreans seem to LOVVVVE building US military materiel. I bought the Trumpeter 1/350 Forrest Sherman for $60 (62,182 won in 2012) and then, in 2016, prices were like $90+
Long Beach was also at the top of my wish list for this game, so I'm happy she got added so quickly, nice to see Big E too, hopefully we get some later refits of her as well. I think I'd still like to see some older US stuff get added, like maybe the modernized Midway and Essex class ships. Also want to see some more Soviet ships and subs, namely the Typhoon and Kuznetsov (even if it doesn't really work, but I like the ski jump). Block 1 Arleigh Burke would be nice as well, even though I know the devs don't wanna give NATO VLS in the base game, but come on, it's the Burke.
Ah, better upload times from 10k subscribers? A despicable system. Just like many banks say, if you receive €4000+ a month you no longer pay an account management fee.
oh yeah I think even when you first start out they cap your resolution to HD so you’re unable to upload 4k stuff until you reach some milestone. I can’t remember if it is 1,000 subscribers or so. They don’t make things easy lol
@ryu1940 Well, as I said, I don't like that sort of thing, but this mechanism serves the purpose of releasing dopamine, similar to gambling in a casino or playing a game. New milestone reached, now you have 4k, next time you'll get faster uploads. Well, 4k is nowhere near as widespread as FHD, even though the technology has been around for so long. Most people I know already have a 4k TV, but don't watch 4k media. For me personally, most 4k films are too high-definition, so they look artificial. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can unlock everything as quickly as possible.

Mmmm atomic cubes.
Wait, are the cubes a real thing or just a bug? I see that the Long Beach has a cubed superstructure but I can't see the same on the Enterprise.
Apparently, its a real thing. I was a little confused myself.
I bought the Trumpeter 1/350 Forrest Sherman for $60 (62,182 won in 2012) and then, in 2016, prices were like $90+
@@ryu1940 neat, do they make radar:ing in the game any different?
@ Not really they just use different ranges so the 400NM range of the search radar it has is pretty good.
cube cube cube cube
Yeah, and people call me crazy for saying soviet ships are more aesthetically pleasing
I think you’re crazy haha I love how the USN ships look but I’m probably biased.
@@ryu1940 The red decks are a nice aesthetic, I'll give them that.
Port =odd... Starboard = even numbers

it’s in there I think you’ve just misremembered. It is definitely Port Even Starboard Odd
shame the game is full of glitches and shuts down by itself during game play
