Boss man good to have you back with the fam. What epic times on the chinook grounds. I have been using anchovies specifically the past couple seasons from Washington to Alaska and I can say without a doubt they catch bigger chinook. Good to see you fishing with your patient father Great memories for a lifetime
Haha... yeah my poor dad. Drag him along and shout orders at him all day. Now that I'm a dad I get what I deserve from the kids as karma. Yeah that is what I find as well... anchovies or herring really do get those bigger fish.
Excellent, yeah... didn't get around to editing it till now. Better late than never. Might edit some of my older stuff sockeye and Chinook fishing on the Sandheads area.
@GCRockymtns OK cool good to hear. They don't get many views so I never know if people like them. I have some cool underwater salmon trolling stuff too. So I'll have to edit it. You just have to keep commenting and requesting and I'll deliver. Four salmon river fishing videos are coming out over next two weeks.
@@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures I love seeing them as living in AB I don’t get to do it much, used to go to families in CR on island but it’s tough to do every year. I’ve never had the chance to fish for salmon in the river but I watch all your vids lol thanks for sharing
Haha... getting better in what way? I love feedback like this but more helpful if I know what areas you think have improved. Then I can try to propagate that change.
I think you're one of the most faithful viewers. Glad you like the videos. The Black Cod, also called Sablefish... was EXCELLENT. We filleted it and ate the whole thing fresh. We just baked it with salt and pepper. No butter or oil at all. The fish is so moist an buttery. The flavor is mild. It seriously tastes like you are eating butter in my opinion. My parents didn't really like it but my family and brother loved it!
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures thanks. I have about 12 channels I follow. and I like what you post. when I cool walleye, I cook it with flour and frys seasoning salt. put that unto a bag, and shack the fish. no egg, no binder. light coating. I fry in butter. people say it tastes like butter, which the kids and I love, lol
@@JustinHallowesOutdoors haha well if you fry in butter it probably does... haha. But this fish tastes like butter with NO butter. Walleye is more firm than the Black Cod.
I usually just go out with my family privately, so I don't have any experience with guides in the area. There are many options though. I don't know any well enough to make solid recommendations. Hope you find a good one.
It's really good from June through September. They even start doing really well out there in May I believe. If you want the least restrictive limits then after July 31st. August is your best bet if you want big Chinook. The later it gets the more coho around.
Got me itching to hit the west coast doc. Looked like a great day with the family on the big lake, thanks for sharing
Yeah, this was a few day compilation. Most was one day though. Yeah great place for some adventure on the west coast.

Ucluelet is amazing! Any recommendations for a local charter/guide?

Hey Doc, how long is your lead after flasher ?
Depends on what I use... hootchie shorter like 24 to 36 inches, spoons about 5 feet, herring about 6 to 7 feet.
When was this?
