- George Galloway said he wants to “make Rochdale great again” after taking his seat in the House of Commons following his by-election victory in the seat.
The Workers Party of Britain MP also hit out again Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer on Monday, saying it was not for the “unelected Prime Minister” to pick who represents the constituency.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament after his swearing-in, he talked up plans to stand Workers Party candidates in seats more widely at the next general election, including in deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner’s.
He also claimed: “If the by election has been in February 1941, would anyone seriously have condemned me for putting the crimes of the Holocaust at the centre of my election campaign?”

The dictionary definition of ‘holocaust’ is “distruction or slaughter on a mass scale” - no one can deny that is what is happening in Gaza. The Jewish people suffered one of the worst holocausts in the war but that doesn’t mean they own the word or are the only ones who can suffer in this way! It is all the more horrific that it is now Israel who are now the perpetrators of such “Distruction and slaughter”!

Last year they killed 490 Palestinians and 120 Children. The 70 year old military occupation is illegal. The Israeli people have been voting for this for 79 years. Even now, after killing 30,000 in Gaza, including 10,000 children, they are inhibiting food convoys for starving children. This is a genocide and it can be compared with the Nazis. THIS CONFLICT DID NOT START ON OCTOBER 7TH LAST YEAR .. THE ISRAELIS HAVE BEEN DOING EVIL FOR 70 YEARS.
