First. They are rockers. Second. They are women. This is what I miss about true Rock n Roll music now. They know how to play their own INSTRUMENTS. True musicians. They understand who became before them. ROCKERS TO THE END. THE DONNAS LIVE.
This a very stupid way of thinking. Back then we didnt care if they were women or not, they were good. Being a "woman" was nothing new, back then we had many female punk rockers anyway. "uh uh they are special because they are women!" shut up fascist, they are special because they are AWESOME.
Why did we ever forget this magic? I’m back and ready to live. These girls were a huge part of my adolescence and I can’t believe I almost forgot this magic. LOVE the Donnas!

This album was freaking perfect. Not a single "filler" song on it. It should have launched the into the rock and roll stratosphere. Instead, here it is 2020 and they're hardly even mentioned in conversations about the best bands of the 21st Century, a conversation in which they surely belong.
Agreed. I've owned this CD since I saw them on Conan back in 2002. All killer, no filler; though the songs are all kind of samey-samey. But they put out an album in 2005 that was straight garbage, though.

Sensational - This album completely catapulted these girls to the top of my playlist. Their sound matured so much with this album which ROCKS OUT! A shame their management didn’t do a better job with them.

I've been listening to these girls since '99. Without question the best all female band ever!! Just kick ass rock n roll!! Allison Robertson is an excellent guitar player, not to mention sexy as hell!

In all my years of listening to rock music, there has never been another girl then that sounds quite as good as this one! Their sheer power and intensity just blows all the others away!

Awesome song from such awesome female rock legends!! I remember "Who Invited You" from the soundtrack of Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild and "I Don't Want to Know" from the soundtrack of Gran Turismo 4. BOTH these games I still have on my still-working PS2!! I have been always saving my progress on the very same light blue 8MB PS2 memory card I had gotten for Christmas in December of 2003! I was 13 years old, and was in 7th Grade back then. And even now, after all this time, the good old PS2 (console, original memory card, etc.) STILL WORKS!!

Dana H Yup. This album , I am sure, launched a `1000 teenage boy and girl guitarists. I know my daughter strapped on my les paul gold top and learned how to play every song including solo's off this album. Course these days she's into stuff like threat signal and other death metal and EDM but still. The point is that this album should be a classic album. Top notch song quality. Real musicians. Not that lipsynching crap they do today. Totally old school

Brett's Vocals sound perfect with all the songs The Donnas put out. Tory is a really good drummer and the bass and guitar sound awesome. Maya is really talented at bass and Donna R. is always playing smoking solos. They also sound the same live; I saw them play in San Francisco and it was hella good.

There has never been a time when I've played the Stay the Night CD for someone and they didn't immediately like it. The three-chord rock motif that focuses on Booze & Boys is a complete winner.

I feel the same! I can't get over her! it has been almost two decades like that, fuck...HAha! Once in while my heart aches when I think about her, so talented, excellent guitarist and really beautiful. Her Gibson + Marshall with no pedals tone is amazing.
I remember downloading thousands of pics of the Donnas years ago, I was fascinated with Brett and Alisson. I play guitar so I almost fell in love with Alisson.

They do. Though, ironically, I think I actually prefer the stuff from the early days, before they actually got _good_. In the late 90s they were a bit sloppy but sounded like a cross between the Ramones and the Runaways (in the best sort of way). Now they're far more skilled, but they sound more like Avril Lavigne or something.
A buddy of mine says that back during the first wave of punk in the late 1970s and early 80s, there were some bands that developed a small following, then just from playing so many gigs they got good, and the audience turned on them. That sounds like a joke, and maybe it is, but the Donnas' career makes me think of how it could be true.
What a great TRUE Rock n Roll band. Miss these girls.

Looks-wise, ...The Donnas remind me of some girls I knew in High School. Yes! I WAS lucky and DID go to a great High School at a very Cool time. The major difference is tho... The girls I knew never played any instruments. It would be totally amazing to have a Girl-Group like the Donnas in your School! That would've been phenomenal!

Yep, 2020 definitely reignited my passion and expanded my musical repertoire and now two years on in 2022 I am now a fountain of musical knowledge sitting over here.

Descubrí a The Donnas tarde, en mi casa lo más rockero que se escuchaba era Queen, mis compañeros de escuela peor, cumbia escuchaban. Las tendencias en los canales de musica iban de mediocres para abajo. Leyendo la revista Guitarra Total (creo que asi se llamaba la revista) descubrí a The Donnas pero en aquel entonces no existía youtube asi que no tenia medios para escucharlas, conocía la banda sólo de nombre. Me hubiera gustado escuchar esta banda cuando tenia 12 años pero en fin. Saludos desde Argentina!!!!!
