Meet the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly, along with our three adventurous children. Nine years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, leaving our home in Alaska, USA, behind to explore the world. As teachers, we were fortunate to find amazing opportunities in Chennai, India, where we spent two enriching years. Seeking new experiences, we then made our way to the United Arab Emirates.
Just as we were settling into our UAE life, the pandemic struck, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity for another chapter in our journey. We moved to Indonesia, where we currently hold teaching jobs, and it has been a time of learning, growth, and connection.
As a family, we thrive on traveling and embracing the unknown. Adventures are our way of life, and through our experiences, we aim to inspire our children to be confident in meeting new people, trying diverse cuisines, and immersing themselves in different languages and cultures.

Welcome to Alaska!!! I've lived off grid in Trapper Creek Alaska for 20 years now and you would love how I've been able to survive off grid. I ordered cheap solar panels from Harbor Freight around 7 years ago and I now can get internet access. I've been learning so many things to help improve my lifestyle here in rural Trapper Creek Alaska. I was able to put my own septic tank system down by watching a TH-cam Channel and it didn't break the bank!! I'm on disability and I don't have much of an income as it is. You're probably not back here yet, but we are starting our winter months of light change, and pretty soon will be heading into more dark times as far as sunlight. If your living here be sure to purchase your vitamin D3, but you must know something that I did learn that's so important for your health. You also need to purchase the vitamin K2 to take with your vitamin D3. It's very important because if you're having to take vitamin D3 because of the lack of the real suns vitamin D and you don't supplement it with K2 your joints can have problems in your future. I'm more into nature rather than a whole lot of pharmacy meds and so I suggest talking to your health food stores attendant about this very important subject. It is so nice to have you here in Alaska!!! Happy hunting and fishing!!! I have not eaten meat sold in any store for so many years and I am now 62 and am doing so much better than most women my age. I'm only on disability because of diabetes and I suffer from PTSD. That PTSD is the main reason why I live very rural Trapper Creek Alaska where I raise my goats and other small farming animals. I just found out that Alaska has the most wide national park. And in Indonesia you're based in Papua. What a dreamy life. It's actually my kind of dreamy life to live near woods. Fresh air, many resources, near to nature, etc. So good moreover for the kids. Though, it'll need a lot of hard work too to live like that 💪

I just started watching your channel. I think this is the 3rd video I watched. The 1st one was where you 1st saw your house. TH-cam suggested your channel after I watched Somers in Alaska. I don't know if you've seen their channel or not. But, they live in North Pole Alaska. I don't live in Alaska. I would love to go there one day. I live in Southern Utah. Anyhow, you should watch Somers in Alaska since they have a lot of good advice for those living in Alaska. I would love to live in Alaska, but it's pretty expensive plus my husband doesn't like the snow at all. Anyhow, congrats on the purchase of your new home.

We recently returned to the US after living in New Zealand. It's such a process "outfitting" the house....and it adds up quickly. We have been here for 6 months and finally got a toaster 😅. I'm sure it's an adjustment for you guys in terms of prices compared to what you have seen in SE Asia.
