Gathering Winter Firewood at Neighbor Al's

- In this video, I help neighbor Al cut, split and stack firewood for his off grid cabin in the woods. Using fallen trees from his property, we harvest several truckloads of wood in his Nissan pickup including alder, hemlock and douglas fir. Al turned 83 years old in September, and has been following this same routine every year since purchasing his property in rural Washington State back in 1977. He is a true inspiration to me. I hope this video inspires others to find their inner Al.
Thanks for watching!

Some of my fondest memories have been from a day cutting firewood with friends and family. Hemlock with a lot of knots is one of the toughest splitting woods there is I believe.
Thanks again Diego. I enjoy watching you and Al get the job done and just live life. I feel content watching your videos, sir.
Oh that's awesome 18 bucks for life. Farm exempt 😊
If AL doesn't have anyone to leave his property to..Pick Me! Al and you as well are living the best lives. Truly the dream!
wow hes 83 still cutting up wood and stuff thats awesome
I knew a guy that bought a heat pump when he was 91. The reason was he didnt know how much longer he could haul firewood.
He's a beast 👊
Love this video, the beer, the safety police and both of your laughter, making memories!!! Thank you for taking us along. ❤❤❤
Al is as fit as a 20 year old. WOW incredible😊👍
Nothing like good wholesome hard work and seeing your accomplishments at the end of the day. For 83, Al is in great shape.

Hi Diego and thanks for creating & sharing this video! Al - you truly are an inspiration. Capable of doing hard manual work, still driving a stick shift and maneuvering off road, sharing your knowledge...and all with a smile. We love your truck and beautiful home paradise. Hoping to see more videos like this one. Stay safe you two.
You're such a good person, God bless you

Great videos!!
May want to install an expanded sheet metal on Al’s rear window to protect it. He can still see through it. That would be a good project for you two. Al’s amazing at 83; no wonder he’s in good shape. Thanks for the video.
headache rack would certainly be a good build
Please tell Al that an old italian lady wants to give him a virtual hug. I think he's awesome!

Wow! I wish we all can make it to the 80s and stay same healthy! 🤞🤞😊😊 We would love to see more videos with him
Al is one amazing gentleman and very smart know what he is doing and so very healthy , Id not know he was 83. Diego you are so fortunate to have Ale as your friend. That is one scary hill I would be afraid to travel let alone carry or drag logs would take skill that Mr. has. He is healthy because he keeps busy one could learn from a great deal from Al. a great deal of work completed . loving these video's watching from Ontario, Canada.
Stumbled across your video on the waterwheel. Seems like both you guys have been lucky with the new neighbor.😃
Might have to see about getting that farm tag on the side by side. Good jobs guys
I’m glad you have a great neighbor. It won’t be so boring.
One tank of gas in the chainsaw, clever way for Al to get done a uniform amount of work with similar results…. Good idea!

Diego, teu carisma encanta teus seguidores.
"This is the way we do it in the free country"
Great job 👍 ❤
Would love to take Al a case of beer!
13:00 With wire in a block attached to the big tree to the left in frame, you could pull the wedged tree with the truck. One bit at a time at least...
I'm 65 and I live the same way Al does, I'm happy he does things his own way and continues to enjoy it! I heat my place with wood, though I have a splitter to make things go a bit faster. My gf works with clay so I built her a studio when she moved it which I also heat with wood for her. I'm going to build a sauna after I saw Al's. Thanks for making and posting these, it's great to get people to really understand, this is the way we all used to live. Conservation was a way of life, not consumerism. Ask yourselves, if OSHA really cared about us all, they'd go after whomever's financing the chemtrail program, spraying us all like bugs on a daily basis. Or the UN, 75 years they've been around and many of their core tenets, (ending war and famine) have failed miserably, but they continue with a budget in the billions. Anyway, hopefully many get the point, there is a simpler way to live and be in tune with your soul while advocating for those with no voice, nature/animals, you can't go wrong.
Diego more like lightning bc u don't hit the same spot twice. LMAO
83.. wow.. thats another lifetime of happy smiles.. (well not all smiles.. but most of e'm).. Diego.. buy that man some beer or.. get him a new chainsaw (gas not electric)

A log splitter would be a dream
Diego, get yourself a Fiskars X27 36” handle, it will out split that 8 pound mall all day long, a lot less work too.
