    That white piece goes inside your dryer if you want to lay something flat to dry or you dry a pair of tennis so it doesn't bang against the Walls.

      1sttimemom76 while editing I remembered it goes inside the dryer!!! I have literally never used it so I let it go! Thank you so much for your kindness and not calling me an idiot for not knowing what it was in the moment! 😂😂❤️🎉

    Borax is amazing for cloth diapers. It removes stains and urine odor. I cloth diapered my children because the broke out with Pampers. Now that was 30 year ago and the pretty formed diapers were not available. But my diapers came out white and sweet. I also use Borax on my white scrub pants. No yellowing!

    Vinegar helps keep towels fluffy and stops them (and plush blankets) from getting matted down. Also is a natural fabric softener. I use vinegar in wash with essential oils on wool balls in dryer. The baking soda is a natural deodorizer

    Vinegar is great for towels, jeans, sheet, etc. It is a natural deodorizer and it fluffs your towels because it helps to remove more laundry soap in the rinse. I put vinegar in my "fabric softener" dispenser. It's a staple in my laundry room!

    • @Dayday3777m
      @Dayday3777m 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a small home washer could I just put vinager in the water? About how much? It won't make the clothes smell like it? Ty ❤️

    • @kellytalbert6126
      @kellytalbert6126 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe you can! I think you add it during the first rinse. Google that and make sure! Surprisingly, your clothes will NOT smell like vinegar. I use how ever much fills my dispenser. I'm guessing it's about 1/2 to 3/4 cup. I've also added it to the bleach dispenser and it works great either way.

    So for your DIY carpet cleaner you can use the smaller mason jars (pint size?) and screw on a Kraft parmesan cheese lid!

  • @CagleEmily
    @CagleEmily 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    For your carpet sprinkle, a parmesan cheese shaker lid will fit on a regular mason jar! Great makeover. I have a similar space for our laundry room, larger closet that also needs to be used for tools and other things because we don't have a garage. Great video!

    Mason jar with holes poked in the lid for the baking soda and essential oil carpet dusty stuff! I love sprinkling it around like a fairy godmother, plus I feel all farmhouse fancy, without having to actually own chickens. Win/win.
    Swiffer dry pads (I don’t have a Swiffer but my mom gave them to me when we bought our house lol) are bestest dry cleaning cloths. I mean, if you find more in your house 😂 it happens, and I’m here for it ❤️

    One more thought ... love your laundry sign. It is true ... My baby is 18 years old today, and he has been living with his dad for the last year. Since it is just me now, I do 2-3 loads of laundry per week now as opposed to 10-12 loads of laundry every week when I had three kids at home. I never thought I would miss those piles of laundry, but I do.

    Love it! My laundry closet is overdue for a makeover it was nice and organized with Dollar Tree bins..however, I am using a lot of jars now for facial wipes, antibacterial wipes for the bathrooms. What's funny is that here recently I've been feeling like it looks cluttered. You inspired me to revamp mine possibly today! Those jars are such a great value at Home Goods that I purchased tons and I also used them for my epson salts etc. OMG! Hiding the pipes is an excellent idea! Now I did buy some for my flour and sugar and tea station.!

    Good job on decluttering everything. i swear everytime i declutter it seems i can breath better lol.
    If i may give you some suggestion's for your laundry room remodel if you ever do one. (you really should do one :))
    Put in a nice worktop with a faux marble print like the ones at ikea or plain white.
    so you can fold your clothing on it.
    Change the wire rack. Not to be a snob lol but i never understand why a lot of the American home owners use them.
    You will never find them here in Europe they are ugly and above that if you put something small on it it will probably fall between the wires.
    And last but not least give the left and right wall a white colour paint job and put in some grey faux hardwood stick tile on the back wall.
    It will take you a day of work.
    Cost you less then 150 dollars, you will have a new video and a beautifull new laundry room.

    • @thewadsquad
      @thewadsquad  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amen to the wire shelves! I don't understand why they're in every builder grade home! I would love to change it out- maybe in the future when I'm feeling more spunky! haha Thanks for all your suggestions!

    The downy softener is a concentrated product. I usually buy those instead of the regular one. With those you need to put a measure of it in another bottle and fill the rest with water, then shake. It really depends on the brand the exact proportion but you should get a regular softener (liquid but not too watery) as the final result.
    Btw, thanks for the video. It was a lot of fun and I got some good inspirations as well

    The plastic shelf thing goes inside of your dryer to put tennis shoes on so they don’t rattle around inside your machine, beating the inside of your machine up.
    It’s a very good thing to have if you wash your tennis shoes in the washing machine and need to dry them.

I really envy you in the US your laundry rooms, I have my washer in the kitchen under the counter and my dryer in the garage so it’s a case of carting it back and forth🤯🤯 The small flower vase really lifts it and is a great touch. My children had terry towelling nappies, the disposable ones weren’t around then, nice to know there are still some around. They were soaked in Milton overnight and washed on a boil wash next day. I didn’t have a dryer then but loved to see beautiful white nappies blowing on the outside line👍. Looking forward to your next video😊

    Great job! It looks amazing! I actually envy that you have your washer dryer in your house. I live in a 60 year old house so my washer dryer is in my one car garage and I have to go out there in the humidity of Florida and either get bit by mosquitoes or sweat to death while doing laundry! Ha ha so the grass is always greener..... :-) For your shaker jar you are looking for, look at the DT...they have the glass shaker Parmesan cheese jars there you can pick up with the holes in the top, and you can use that for your DIY carpet sprinkle. Also, I love Publix sudsy ammonia You can use ammonia on your bathroom floors, and your tubs. It's a great cleaner actually, very old-fashioned but it works really well in kitchens and bathrooms. But yes if you have too much lying around I guess decluttering is always the way to go. I look forward to your next decluttering video. Have a great day! 😊🌸🌞

    Vinegar and Borax removes poop smells from clothing. I soak poopy clothes for a day with those and add a wee bit of shout to the water and it gets every odour out....every odour!!! Crazy glue that crack!!!

    It looks so pretty in there Kim! I use vinegar in laundry to defunkify (pretty sure that's semi spelled right) and as like a fabric softener. Somewhere along the way Downy has changed to being a fabric conditioner and is a clumpy pain in the right boob with an underwire poking kind of problem. I love the smell of it and being brought back to childhood but have switched to vinegar for the most part now. The white rack thingie might be a good place for the lost socks to hang out and have a drink or two at three am. Just a thought :) Thanks for sharing!

    Ammonia is great at getting blood stains out 😂 Also works well on grease and oil stains. My grandma uses it all the time but I swear we've had the same bottle of ammonia for 5 years now and have barely put a dent in it.

      Wow, good to know!! All I know about ammonia is that it's in cat pee, and not to mix it with bleach. hah! Somehow I acquired two bottles of ammonia! I don't need that clutter in my life.

      In the 1940s my granny and her neighbour had the same white aprons. They had gone grubby even when washed. One day her neighbors daughter came over wearing the apron but it was sparkling clean! Granny asked her how her mother had got it so clean but the girl didn't want to say. The next time her neighbour was up she told granny her secret. She lived in a small house and the bedroom was next to the kitchen. Her husband had men over playing cards and she needed to use the potty (no toilet those days) but she didn't want the men to hear so she grabbed the apron and put it in the potty to muffle the sound. It was steeping all night and when she washed it in the morning all the stains were gone! They broke their hearts laughing at their discovery. It's not only in cat pee ...... Urine was used to scour wool too in factories. Good to know if we ever fall on hard times 😂

      THE WADS actually peroxide is great at getting blood stains out of fabric...Ised to be a surgical nurse, so that is where i learned that trick. it breaks down the protein in blood and it just disappears....saved many sets of scrubs that way.

    Wow what a difference. Once a space is decluttered and organized you are more likely to get the chore done and have a lovely space in the bargain. Have not got a laundry room or cupboard, my washing machine is in the kitchen. xxx

    My son is a fan of leaving empty containers of things where they are...peanut butter, vitamins, even a milk jug once was put back into the fridge empty! Ugh! "Plug the hole!" That made me chuckle! Wow! That looks great! It kind of makes me want to reorganize mine but I also kind of don't, haha!

    Carpet cleaner container option: get a mason jar and lid and drill shaker holes into top of metal lid. DIY Glass shaker. I also use this for a nightly sink cleaner.

    Ok. For your Baking powder and Oil. Go to Dollar Tree , they have like glass jar things with metal lids. Like for Parm Cheese maybe.. like an over sized salt or pepper shaker. It's prefect and $1 .yay

    I use ammonia to mop my tile floors 1:10 ratio with water. Also, I use a glass shaky cheese container for sprinkling my baking soda, like the ones you would see at a pizza place.

    Salt shaker works great for carpet sprinkles ... I have one in each room that has carpet (also is a smell good hidden in the room)
    Borax add to your carpet sprinkles helps keep bugs away (ant and spider) borax also works right out side outside doors and windows to keep the bugs away

    the floors in my house are super old white tiles and they stain really easy but I use ammonia to mop them to get all the tough stains! eventually one day we will replace the tile.
