I love the story about Kayla Nemour: the french team thought it was not worth investing in her again and then she went for Algeria and won gold.
All because of the French national team's medical technician who wrongfully claimed that she's too badly injured to continue.
@@F1Kamel_1992 I thought she wanted her coach from her hometown to continue coaching her?
@@RoyLimisAw3s0me Yeah, that Romanian bloke if I'm not mistaken.
@F1Kamel_1992 the most stupidest reason to lose a medal prospect is IMHO
@@RoyLimisAw3s0me After her legendary performance the French team's head coach deeply regrets and lost his job three weeks later.
Nemour's performance was one of my Olympic highlights. Fantastic
But why is Kayla Nemour considered an underdog? She’s blown the gymnastics community away with her incredible routine well before Paris and was definitely a if not THE gold medal contender on bars. So just because she competed for Algeria, a country that isn’t a gymnastics superpower?
@mariusa5863 respectfully bcoz she even though her mom is from France her dad is from the African country of Algeria , the coaches of France demanded that they have complete control over the training including sleeping arrangements , Kayla’s mom wasn’t having it so it was agreed that instead of representing France ( the home country of her mother ) Kayla would instead represent Algeria ( the home country of her father ) and in doing so she became the first person from a African nation to win a Olympic gold
Yemisi is fantastic 🥇🎉
For those confused about Kaylia Nemour and why she was on the list : respectfully bcoz she even though her mom is from France her dad is from the African country of Algeria , the coaches of France demanded that they have complete control over the training including sleeping arrangements , Kayla’s mom wasn’t having it so it was agreed that instead of representing France ( the home country of her mother ) Kayla would instead represent Algeria ( the home country of her father ) and in doing so she became the first person from a African nation to win a Olympic gold
Oh heck yeah.
👏👏👏
Gotta also give it to Germany's 3x3 Basketball Team
I’m surprised Julien Alfred didn’t make the cut
Kaylia Nemour wasn't the underdog, she was junior champion and didn't get along with french gymnastics federation. She changed her nationality, so she's competing for not so well established country in gymnastics, but she isn't the underdog at all.
Also Letsile Tebogo wasn't the underdog, he was well established since 2021 winning junior championships and placing 2nd and 3rd at world championships. Definitely not an underdog.
👍
Oh heck
