Hey I was there! About September 10-15th 2018, I was there with some friends and a girl I was watching, she was 3 and she went to the right of 0:01 and she slipped through the little slit and then I told her to come to me and she kept walking back and fell. I have PTSD even tho she didn't die. She didn't even break a bone she is so lucky so I came here to see the good memories of the NMOK (National Museum Of Korea)! Awesome video you earned a new subscriber.
Oh wow glad you enjoyed this video. It’s getting more love lately. And makes it worth whole the effort I put into it. Hope to see you more in the comments and would love feedback moving forward :)
Awww, thanks Squiddly. You're the best! I also subscribed to your channel as you definitely deserve more subscribers for the content your channel has. Look forward to your next vid and where you end up!
Haha yeah I would say I am with the less interested crowd but spending some more time to understand what it is that you're looking at instead of just random pieces of pottery etc would definitely have added to our enjoyment. Unfortunately we had to try to cover two museums in a day with the limited time we had in Korea. Maybe the reason I enjoyed the war memorial museum is that because it's less artifact based and pushing history and information at you... I could see things in context which made that museum more enjoyable. Hope you have an opportunity to enjoy this museum soon! Would love to hear back from your experience :)
@@livetravelasia not so soon and that is quite upseting me since i found they have a nice exhibition right now "Goryeo: The Glory of Korea" but i'll have to wait ca two years. Mine it's more like a long term project and dream. Want to visit China, Taiwan and Japan too, in the future
Hi! Nice commentary. We'll be in Seoul on November with our children and will be going both to war memorial and national museum of korea (1 day itinerary) may i ask how many hours did u spent in National Museum of Korea? I didn't know that it was so big. Thanks in advance!
Bernadette Formentera we spent about 3 hours but I believe there is also a children's museum with an entrance fee but there are interactive things for children which we didn't go to. There was this little girl wearing an iconic Korean crown around which I think she got from the children's museum. There's also a children's museum in the war memorial as well I think... anyways my advice is to go to the war memorial first than as I left the war memorial with a feeling of missing out since we didn't even have time to visit the 3rd floor while my OCD self went all the way up to the 3rd floor of the national museum. In the case of the national museum, most of the main exhibits are on the 1st floor. The second floor is dedicated to random donated works from people like a room full of hairpins donated by someone etc which might be boring to your children. The third floor had a bunch of Japanese Chinese things which may actually be more interesting for children but somewhat irrelevant to Korean history so it can be skipped to fit into your schedule. I also recommend you go to the national folk museum of Korea when you visit the main palace first and see if you really want to spend more time seeing more of the same types of artifacts. Anyways all the museums are free and nicely air conditioned so you can't go wrong which is more than what I can say for the dozen or so other museums I've been to in Asia. Anyways I really hope you enjoy Korea! It's an amazing place and surprisingly cheap to travel in aside from the accommodation costs. I'll be posting my war memorial vlog in a few days and the Itaewon as well so check those out as well as the museum closes early and Itaewon is 2 stops away, or you can checkout the fish market one as well which is also 2 stops away. ;)
Ethan Moon wow thanks for that very detailed response and advice😊😊. Yes ill be waiting for your nxt vlog. I also watched your other vlogs and i hope to see more. Thanks so much!!!
I don’t see why not? Koreans are very vocal about stopping you from filming something if they don’t want you to. I’ll be on public streets and ppl yell at me to stop which I know they have no right to. Let’s just say you can see I was quite obvious about my filming here and nobody said anything. Generally anything promoting a country’s good image and encouraging others to travel to a country is acceptable in any Asian country in my experience. Hell, if you do a good enough job of it, it seems they pay you to do things like this. Not quite there yet so I did this for free for the benefit of others and I am sure it’s only benefiting Korea
Planning a visit to South Corea/Korea? Just trying to be correct? History let's you understand why some people are the way that they are? I have questions concerning natural resources. The "UBUNTU WAY" should become the way of the world!

Aw, thank you! You're so kind! My next video will be out tomorrow. Day 2 of Seoul. I hope you will enjoy it^^
Good
Thank you!
Actually i would spend 2/3 days in it. I would use 1 day to explore 1 or 2 sections of the museum, taking my time to appreciate everything.
It would probably have been more enjoyable that way yes
it's not for everyone but I love to spend time around old artifacts since i was young and stayed for hours and hours in the library. Loved archeology

Hello is it ok to make video about a museum and post it in you tube in South Korea?

Cool stuff
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Every nation got national museum?
I know Sweden and Thailand got one.
Not as big as this one or free but I imagine so
@@livetravelasia So it's free in South Korea?
where are you from?
박수균 thank you for checking out the video. I am a Korean American living in Bangkok at the moment from California.

History definitely gives an insight into current behaviors yes
