The feeling of being able to understand a language is such a happy feeling, and it leaves you energized. 🤩 There are plenty of tools we can use now to translate and understand foreign language videos, but nothing comes close to the feeling of understanding it through our own skills. Because you didn’t speak too fast I could understand everything even if I couldn’t directly translate everything 100%. I guess it helped that you stuck to a travel theme. So just speaking most and with subtitles all.

Grazie mille per questo video. Mi piace molto questo modo di megliorare il mio ascolto in italiano. Sto screvendo il mio primo comentario en italiano qui. Ho iniziato a imparare l’italiano 4 mesi fa. Capisco molto perché parlo lo spagnolo, il portoghese, e il francese ma ancora non ho avuto la possibilita di parlare l’italiano con un italiano. Dopo di ascoltare il paragrafo la prima volta ho riuscito a capire magari 85% del testo.
Complimenti davvero perché per aver studiato quattro mesi scrivi già davvero bene e sono sicura che anche il tuo livello della conversazione è ottimo. Continua così! 💪🏻

That’s absolutely great! I think the fact that you can understand most of it means your study has been giving its results 👏🏻 as per speaking, i think it will just be a matter of getting the habit of speaking to a native regularly and it’ll come to you in a matter of very few months! Qualche parole erano un po' difficile al primo ascolto, ma quando ho avuto i sottotitoli, è stato facile (perchè ho potuto separare ogni parola). I understood everything generally the first time around listening, but with the Italian subtitles I was able to locate some specific words that I didn't know. Sometimes I understand all the individual words, but the exact meaning still illudes me, so the English subtitles helped for that. Grazie mille,
Ciao, Jason! È ottimo! the most important thing is being able to understand the sentences well! and then it is good to do as you did, locate the words you didn't know and learn those ones to improve your vocabulary. Keep up the great work!! :)

I couldn't remove the last translation on the screen before the exercise started (?). If you know what I need to do to remove so I cansee Englush/Italian translation, that would be great.I really like the concept! Thank you!
Hi Susan, are you talking about the subtitles that TH-cam puts under the videos maybe? Or the captions that I write on the video? Usually in this type of video I repeat the same part three times, one without subtitles, one with Italian subtitles, and one with both English and Italian. That way the viewer can test their skills with and without subtitles. So I guess that maybe the translation you're talking about is the TH-cam automatic captions. Could it be? Is it in any color?

Penso che nessuno avrebbe notato nulla.Siamo qui principalmente per ascoltarti.😊 (mais aussi pour ton sourire et ta bonne humeur communicative)
L’ascolto è la cosa che mi piace di più e hai ragione l’accento fa tutto la differenza.
Per me è più facile capire un milanese o un genovese che un napoletano o un siciliano!
A Roma ho trovato che la gente parlava molto velocemente e dovevo fare come te in Alabama essere più attenti anche se capivo ii significato della frase.

Mi fa piacere che non si noti troppo il cartello. Una volta importata la clip sul mio pc, ho visto il cartello e la mia reazione è stata questa --> 🤦♀️
Altre volte mi è capitato di registrare dei video, per poi rendermi conto solo sul computer, che il focus era mal posizionato e per tutto il video veniva messo a fuoco solo lo sfondo, e non il mio viso (e dovevo ovviamente registrare di nuovo il video) 😂
Sì, io penso che l'ascolto sia una delle parti più divertenti dello studio di una lingua, e quella che ci dà un po' la sensazione di "sfida"! Un po' "to test ourselves" ! (grazie per le belle parole sul mio sorriso 🥰 sono sempre tanto gentilii tuoi complimenti!)
L'accento a Roma è davvero difficile! Per me, per esempio, un accento difficile in Francia è proprio quello parigino - non capisco niente 😂 Quando inizierò a capire un parigino allora potrò ritenermi contenta del mio livello! 😂

I have long contact with Italian, bassicaly on east Adriatic there are bunch of loan words from Italian and other Latin languages from Apenines, also i know few people from Rome and Sicily that always come during summer times but for some reason i just always mix it with Spanish, so i was in Trieste last week and i literaly understand 80% of words but always end up talking English or if i am lucky i find someone from Slovenia, Croatian, Bih or Serbia and just talk in my own language 😅
On the other hand i think Mexican telenovelas are to blame since they were very popular when i was kid and kind of Spanish got stuck in my head more.
The fact that you were in Triste and could understand 80% of it is fabulous because they do have a strong accent over there!
Did you speak English because you’re not used to speaking Italian or because they switched to speaking English?
Spanish definitely messes up with Italian! 🤣 all of my students who study Spanish as well struggle with this. Same for me, I live in Spain and I still put in Italian words here and there 😂
@@FrancescaDePaolis Mostly English for anything with more complexity.
But in general there were few situations where i am speaking English and other people speak Italian and we understand each other just fine.
Maybe that understanding part is because we use a bunch loanwords from that area i guess, like "Katriga,Škovaca,Drito,Ponistre, Panceta,Pršut,Šugaman,Pijat" and so on, they are changed a bit but you can guess that Pijat is Piatto, but i don't think they were speaking Triestin but just Official Italian with some accent.
Now with Spanish it is really true, i know differences like Manzana/Mela or Cane/Perro but it still can confuse 😅
Last few years there was also a couple good Spanish shows on Netflix so i was really listening to Spanish alot.

Io ho capito cento per cento del primo testo. Non conoscevo il verbo intraprendere, ma como sono brasiliano e parlo portoghese, ho capito per il contesto. Noi habiamo un verbo molto simile. Nel secondo testo ha accaduto la stessa cosa con la parola "prospettive". Ammetto tuttavia che tu ha parlato abbastanza lentamente.
Ciao André, complimenti per aver capito tutto, e sono contenta che tu abbia imparato qualche parola nuova! Sì, in questi video parlo ad una velocità neutrale, non troppo veloce, non troppo lenta, perché voglio aiutare sia degli studenti che sono di livello più avanzato, sia gli studenti che sono di livello più intermedio. Quindi cerco sempre una velocità che sia nel mezzo! :)

Italiano è il mia tersa (third) lengua. La pronunciazone è più facile che spagnola per me. Solo non so basta vocabulio in il questo momento quindi questo video me aiuta. Ciao Ferdinando, corretto, lo è! Questo testo ha parole che sono tranquillamente livello B2, se non C1.
C’è un mix di diversi livelli così sia persone con livello principiante sia persone con livello intermedio/avanzato possono provare a praticare!

Ciao! Secondo me, questo può essere un ascolto di livello B1. Alcune parole sono livello più avanzato tipo B2 o anche C1, però direi che il livello nel complesso è un B1!
