    Very interesting and cool stuff. Some of those are like natural cabs and palm stones. Good pocket rocks.

    Those shiny rocks are so interesting and cool! They would have looked so amazing just shining away on that hill as you were driving by! That explains why you had to stop and check it out! No way you could have drove by it without checking it out! And having seen them up close, you really don't know what the heck was going on! So strange! Everything just looked like an alien landscape! I can't wait to see what you two get up to next! And poor little wandered, getting burrs in him! Poor baby! Stay safe all and quest on!❤

    I don't know what mineral those rocks are, but they sure are interesting!

    Wow you guys found some interesting pieces! Some appear to be that weird fine basalt, others seem to have desert varnish from being on surface not sure if that a real name for it. The agatized shells are beautiful.

    Wind-polished rocks are cool.

      yes for sure , seing the sand blasted bigger boulders and realizing the stones have had every kind of force shape them , natures facets, and each element just crafted them a little more.

    Some really interesting rocks in that awesome haul 🤔🤔🤔 I wonder what those weird silicates would look like cut into thin slabs to get a cross section view of what they are made of🤔🤔🤔

    i have found silicates like that in the Mohave Desert, close to Barstow

    Interesting.. the spiral are almost the shell version of a limbcast.
    Like the shell filed with silicate or ocean organizers then later the calcium of the shell descinigration.

    Nate, those are interesting finds!
    Ask your fellow rock hounds, comes to mind is, currently rock hunting, Elley knows rocks adventures of shadow and ask Jeff Williams! A few of my favorites who enjoy the challenge of identifying rocks ! They look like they’ve been melted 🤔

      the Wyoming stone ranger probably has my answers I've been going through his vids looking for matches....Jared, Elly, Jeff, could probably help sort it out for sure though you'r right ,probably a lot of our Yellowstone crew right north has seen similar also, we got a heck of a think tank of a community.

    A few of those, from the beginning with a duller surface but the strange egg-shaped layers or peels or even pockets/windows, with differential weathering (one color worn deeper) ... could be silicate & iron concretions. They can come in some bizzarre shapes/patterns.

  • @RU3YJB

    Looks like chalcedony.... It's windblown, that's creating the texture... weathering by wind "aeolean" very very similar to Gobi Agates. Collectible for sure!

    Maybe the ice shines those rocks 🪨?

    • @QuestForDetails

      for sure, water , and then sand with wind, and each winter lots of snow, ice, plus probably glaciers at some point..

    Are some of those stones quartzite or agate covered in desert varnish?

    • @QuestForDetails

      yes for sure ! I was seeing lots of variants of quartzite, you could see its grains, and definite varnish on some.

    Is that stuff magnetic?

    • @QuestForDetails

      no, not magnetic, ....but might be volcanic, how could it have the small holes if not i'm wondering...really great zone for finding things that were totally new forms to me, I think thats what's making easy I D on these tricky is they have been shaped by forces I don't encounter as often and so the resulting forms are making it a guessing game , but a fun one! get a couple on the saw see what lies within...thanks for watching !

  • @TreeLynnT

    Are they magnetic?

  • @aydamercado6798

    Those rocks are magnetic? I mean are attracted to a magnet ?
