    Cool! Great production and thanks for the review. I always wondered about your comms set-up. The audio quality of your comms in your videos is great. I've read in the amazon reviews that if you have more than two people in the group it's a negative because each person can only talk to the captain and not the other riders.

      Yeah that's such a weird feature eh? I've never tested it with more than just two riders but I'll put that to the test likely this summer.
      At least now I have a full spare rig, so if others come along I can setup a full comms system in their helmet.

      @@IslandADV Hi Island ADV, just following up with you to see if you had the opportunity to try your comms system with more than 1 other rider? I am looking to add comms but I want to be able to speak with and hear other riders. We generally have 2 or 3 guys. Any input and suggestions would be appreciated. Also do you know if you can communicate with other brands such as Cards or sena? I really like the price and features of your system

      @@user-jw3il8ev6o Here's what I know about this one and larger group rides. It works like a team leader selecting riders to talk. So it's not a mesh connection or party line where everyone talks all at once. But, there is another cost effective option that has that. One of the members of the ride group suggested a Lexin that does that.

      But I hear the gold standard is a Sena. So if you're able to make the investment in that, I'd go that route for sure.

      @@IslandADV Good evening Island ADV, I wanted to update you that I did pick up a set of Lexins that you suggested. WOW. great set, amazing clarity and range. I appreciate your guidance. So far they check all the boxes

    Right on! I have the same com, but made by Lexin. You're right, a few quirks balance the price, and I'm quite happy with mine too. I get at least 8h on Bluetooth listening to music while I ride. Cool review!

      I saw the Lexin online too. I think I might buy a set of those once these ones give up the ghost. Thanks buddy.

      That's very true. That's why I like it for trail riding. We're usually so close together that the range never seems to be an issue. But the minute you put a mountain in the way, problems arise, lol.

    I have the same system, I ride mostly solo but I have the device for phone calls and to stream music. The phone call feature works excellent. As for the music the sound quality isn't all that great especially when riding on the highway, trail riding your fine. The battery life is maybe the best feature of the of the this device. Your good for an 8hr riding day minimum

      I was very surprised by the battery life for the price. The first time we used this my buddy and I were out for the whole day with them and they never quit.

    Most important thing to understand is group talk / intercom with all riders vs only being able to talk to 1 person at a time. Thats the big deal for me.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's killer eh. It's great for two people, but there's another model "lexin" that does the pack talk stuff. More dollars though, but still less than a new cardo set. Cheers bud.

    can connect with another brand bluetooths devices?

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Not with this one, no. A cardo system would have universal pairing though.

    hello, i have a pair of these and we cannot hear eachother over the bike even with the volume up, is there any way to fix this? im assuming its just a problem with the cheap mics provided in box, but i dont have a way to test that without buying new mics that may or may not fix the problem

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually it could be bad speakers. Try playing music through them to see of you can isolate the issue to that. Also I find when I wear earplugs with these voice comms are hard to hear so I have to max out volume.
      I will say I've since moved on to a cardo on my helmet, but my buddy still uses his and we pair my cardo to it and it still works decent. We used that for out big trip.
      The only other troubleshooting I can suggest is to check mic orientation. Make sure the input side is toward your mouth and is very close to your mouth. It seems simple, but I do comms for the army and for quiet voices on the means, the first thing I tell operators to do is this, and it's surprisingly effective, lol.

  • @MollyAppleton-xm2bi
    @MollyAppleton-xm2bi หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Are you able to pair this with another communicator from a different brand?

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can connect my Cardo with this. But that only works because the Cardo is the one doing the connecting.
      The vnet on its own will not connect to something other than a Vnet. Universal pairing is the term and the thing to look for in comms units if that's what your after.

    Goodmoring I have a set of charter box with gmrs radio range up to 5 miles there 25 years old .have one group still use them.i have the new cardo packtalk Bluetooth about 300 yards my hjc helmet has cut outs for speakers the cardo is nice to get the range when riding with American legion riders 300 in the group I need more range. We found cobra makes walkie-talkie that are Bluetooth and have 25 miles?range.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      300 riders! Wow. That would be such an epic ride event. The largest group ride I was on was like 10 riders I think, lol. I'd really like to invest in a cardo someday. But that walkie sounds like a good option too.
