Siren was replaced with a gray 5/6 1003 around the summer of 2018. It does not rotate and does not sound in hi-lo. Update: After 3 years of waiting for the siren to be repaired and never being done, it was sent back to be repaired locally in St. Paul. Update again: Original siren was reinstalled.

I came here from one. Found this thing sounds way scarier than the rest so I listened to it separately. This clip was edited in the compilation that I watched. This sounds even worse.
This specific one’s solenoids go extremely fast, exactly 0.1 seconds between the high low, this only happens once when turning from high, to the low tone, due to the flasher wheel being in a certain position since the last time it was activated, and it moved to the next cycle, and continued to go on with it’s normal cycle
I am now planet ethusiast But I will remember this FOREVER Also why didn't you use planet telescope or binocular? It will be easier to record sirens and also planets and stars (suns ☀)!
@@jcb19no. I actually said the swapped pulleys on a 6M. I don’t mean to lie. I’m just saying that it probably has a 6M with the swapped pulley. the blower pulley onto the motor and the motor pulley to the blower.
Elizabeth_958 Actually after the rotator and solenoid broke, there’s a rumor that they rewired the blower when they fixed the solenoid and rotator and painted it white!
Mr.Someone \Tom/ this is what I was told from the FD... the siren is in the garage at the FD and they have a loner siren up for the time being. So right they are restoring it in the FD right now with a new paint of white. Also with a fixed solenoid and hopefully the blower they said the blower will be fixed. It’s a work in progress

If you listen closely when it winds up for the first time it's solenoids have a delay before turning on a split second after the chopper winds up
Most 1003's do this.
