Keb Mo is a wonderful guitar player .. and he's got a great great voice to go with it, the tribute to mckinley morganfield when keb plays can't be saticfied is earthshaking .. and then continues with the two trains runnin' .. WOW .. I love blues
Space......nothing that exists can do so without the space surrounding, weaving in and out of it.....best said by Keb Mo...."it's o.k. sometimes to play nothing". Learned and forgot that a long time ago. Thanks for the reminder, Keb.
McCabe's is the greatest place on earth. I went there once way back and I almost couldn't leave. Sure wish I ran into Fran, but I had a ToTal blast trying out all the outstanding instruments! (in CT here) Thanks so much for this clip!!
@tinpanalley67 The guitar Fran is playing is a Recording King Model K circa mid-30's. Made in the Gibson factory, like a Kalamazoo. It has the Carson J. Robinson name on the headstock.
Start slow, breaking down the syncopation and then as you get more comfortable build up speed. It takes a long time to develop the right hand. Just stick with it.
love keb mo', but just play some blues in your player and start to play your guitar! Everybody did it... If i found a dvd to sing like this i'd buy it! ;)
Been playing the guitar since I was 12, all I want to do is learn to plaY like Rev Gary Davis but that thumpin' thumb just keeps throwin me off..Damn you guys make it look so easy but I know it's not
LIKE Roy Bookbinder,Keb' Mo Is a driving force in hard country blues revival as I.If he ever Checked out my plethora specializing in BLIND WILLIE MCTELL @ Barbara Salisbury 141 vids @ TH-cam I would be honored and eternally grateful.Tried to email him at his mgmnt. before shows at Rochester,N.Y. Eastman theatre but the delivery failed after two weeks.Sharon Dorn Foehner of St Louis MO Played Utrecht ,Holland with Keb' Mo. And all he could talk about is McTell and R.L.Johnson,so I wish he could taste my work.Chris Young!
Thanks to both of you much appreciated. Keb I am such a fan! Your heart and soul comes out in the words of your songs.

I've never heard an instructor say this, but the easiest way I found to do this is tap your foot and thump the thumb with every tap

Yes. Fran was his instructor and was an important part of his musical development. Thanks for tuning in to Homespun's channel. More coming soon!
