The metaverse technology will be beneficial for new projects and ideas but will be completely useless as a real-life replacement option. Everyone will forget the reality due to this technology and it doesn't have a lot of pros also.
This is complete flop in all angles and I'm 100% sure about it. As you gave example of google lens this is just a technology that prople think it's to "EXPERIENCE" not to use and live in the fake world. And as the upcoming generation beleive in decentralised internet no one really use this metaverse although people are already moving to move reddit instead of instagram and discord instead of whatsapp. Ex-Facebook or Meta is digging their own grave and putting a whole lot money into this project in the hope of collecting every bits of data.

Yes I believe whatever use we could have of the technology in our day to day life is there beyond it is just gonna be over done. We need our social time with family and friends in real life otherwise humans will forget the difference how real feels like in coming times. It's very satisfactory to see most of the people don't want metaverse as a real life replacement. Excess use of metaverse can destroy the moral values and humanity.

I get reminded of the good old Johnny Quest adventure series on Cartoon Network during my high school days. Metaverse is the same. This has some positive uses only in a handful of sectors like research, medicine, defence. In normal life it only creates more problems than do any good. The people who built it or the people who are building for it will no doubt impose it on others because they wanna get rich with it. "A drug manufacturer never consumes himself, but makes the rest of the world addicted to it". Social media itself has become a serious addiction, on top of that Metaverse will make us forget the real world and it's upkeep

It makes my brain fuzzy just thinking about it. There are so many sci-fi movies that depict the negative effects of a world of virtual reality and seeing this become a thing already is honestly scary. We already see how people are more attached to their social media self rather than their real self and this metaverse concept just makes it worse. I can't imagine how the future generations will be.. it really scares me

It is advanced version of internet. In both of them you can meet other people, shop online, and use it for entertainment and just spend time there. Saying metaverse is for people who can't cherish real world is like saying internet is for people who can't cherish real world.
Just like earlier internet was optional but in recent times if you don't use it then you get disconnected from the real world the same thing is going to happen with metaverse after few decades.

I just don't think a virtual reality world can ever replace the real one, this sounds like something out of a black mirror episode
VR may not replace the real world but AR will definitely in the near future and people are lovin' it already best examples are well, pokemon go, lenskart, even companies like loreal are trying to implement it by 2030 (atleast that's what they say)
the Fifteen Million Merits episode really got me thinking about this. technically its not about the netaverse, but its about technology watching you, how companies can show adverts into every moment of your life. its terrifying, and could be a reality with the metaverse.
Even earlier also people thought of the smart phones and of internet the same thing that they are not really going to cause any harm to social life...but we know what is happening in today's world..some people have become too addicted to it that they have developed the problems like social anxiety, bad body image...people were happier when these things were not there...

Whenever we adopt any new technology after some time we get to know its pros and cons. So, now we know how to properly use WhatsApp and Facebook in combination with real life. Therefore, my personal opinion is that we should move toward innovation and adopt Metaverse. Furthermore, I thank you Dhruv Rathee for making such informative videos without bias. We have only one Pakistani Faisal Wariach who makes such videos.
We should be in the virtual world to a certain extent, but not to such extent that we forget our real lives.

It depends on our defination of reality. We could even be living in a simulation ourselves. What if the virtual reality we speak of becomes as real as our current reality but the difference is if u have any disability like u can't walk or stuff, you inside of the metaverse can do all of that easily and it fells as real as reality. If u could do Everything you do in real life in that metaverse too. Like literally, anything. But in virtual reality our possibilities are not limited.
agree 100%. My wife has medical condition and I cannot take her out anywhere and we ourselves confine to 4 walls . Done with all movies on OTT. Nothing can replace open air, beaches, fragrance of eucalyptus tree, how temperatures change throughout the day and create an impact on mind. One of the major applications of the Metaverse would be gaming. I mean it feels like it is meant for video games. It can really make video games super immersive (Something like the movie Ready Player One).
But other than that, living 24*7 in Metaverse doesn't really sound that exciting to be honest.

yes as a quote said, "simplicity is the mother of all and attractive".
so creating this virtual word is totaly waste of technology, rather use it in any other field like medical field where it needs a lot in understanding the deases deeply. Adoption of metaverse is again take you away from the reality. as Dhruv gave an example of Google glass which came in 2013-14,things looks cool first time, enthusiasm of using it at another level but after that it feels like a burden on yourself and then usually we don't prefere it. because we don't need it anymore! And main thing is what is our need? if it concerns to our daily need, it will sure keep a great platform then.
People will have virtual meetings, virtual trips to the moon, virtual dance parties etc. In fact this is already happening in VRchat and hundreds of thousands of people are using it already for entertainment. One slight nudge and it will be the future of this world. At first people didn't want smartphones and stuck to their convenient little Nokia bricks but they eventually realized that it isn't enough anymore. We now have the Internet and the information of this world at our fingertip but there are still people living in complete ignorance about all this. It's just not how civilization advances.
I am a techie and I feel ashamed when technology is utilised for such things. There are so many real problems technologies can solve and people are focussing on creating metaverse!

Buddy, I passed out from my school in 2020 and since then I'm attending my college in online mode only. Neither my college(DU) has opened even once nor I have visited it till now. My lectures start from 9 and go on till 5 or 6pm plus more screen time for projects, presentations, assignments, meets, entertainment, and a lot more. I can say that I'm already immersed in technology and virtuality more than reality to that extent that I have started craving for the time when the internet was not that big thing like when I was a kid and used to go out play in the park, I miss that real connection that human touch at and
this new concept of Metaverse seems so unnecessary and overhyped to me that it will create more gap between our closed ones than what it is now. And despite being together we would be much distant from each other.

Yes it really Depressing to see this As we are suffering in Lockdown without going out and interacting with friends rather using video call , *CAUSE WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS WE need to be in REAL world than in a Virtual world* YES METAVERSE is depressing Idea

This recent PANICdemic is been created/marketed to push the world towards the metaverse.
This is just one of the many reasons behind this PANICDEMIC.
