I work in psychiatry and one million percent agree with you! The ignorance is rampant both in mental health and primary care. Thank you for helping women all over the world. Learning as much as possible prior to walking into that annual appointment allows us to educate our providers as well others about this tragically under prioritized life stage. I can't understand why there are no specialists in menopause when 100% of women will go through it, yet there is so much support for pregnancy.
Thanks for the encouraging words! There are some menopause specialists out there. We need to interview them to find our match. Menopause.org is a starting point depending where you live. I know it can be frustrating in the healthcare system and we have to come out of pocket in many cases. Keep up the good work my friend.
Reg, you are going through exactly what I did. And it can be frustrating when you've been doing all the right things...so when menopause hits... you're ahead of the game. My weight just kept creeping up. Again Reg keep doing what you are doing. My hot flashes lasted 10 years, but you get to a point where they don't both you as much. I am 5'7 and 145...but I look smaller. I must be out of menopause, because that was when the weight came off and the hot flashes stopped. Just keep eating clean Reg and exercising. I kept exercising, but got frustrated and gave in to my cravings for sugar and salt. But you my friend are ahead of the game. Don't get frustrated and eat junk. Also, I didn't find out until after menopause how meats have hormones...which affect my hormones. Whatever size you are, you are still a beautiful women...and that will never change.
Thank you for this video! I am 43 and I feel like I am in a body that no longer belongs to me. My weight gain is so frustrating, fluid retention is horrible, I am having digestive issues, I am developing food intolerances to foods that never bothered me before, and my libido.... 👎🏽. It is great to be able to watch information like yours. I don't feel alone!
Thank you so much for this much needed video. I just turned 51 this past July and I am in the beginning stages, and I'm terrified and anxious at the same time. This topic was never discussed with me from the women in my family. I just lost the last family member of my immediate family (Second oldest sister) she was 64. It was her heart and my eldest sister Miriam died when she was 57 and she was going through menopause. Her blood pressure kept falling. My mother died from Alzheimer's. So now I am going through this and I am researching, reading, asking questions and I seen you on the healthy Alternative channel speaking about this topic and I found your channel and I am so elated that you are taking the time to explain this to us. ❤️ I truly appreciate you and much blessings to you and your family.
Right. It's not working for me anymore either, the fasting/eating well/anything I used to do. Not letting go of the belly fat, & it's so frustrating, mainly from a health & longevity standpoint- much less, vanity. As far as nutrition, I happen to do best on a meat-heavy diet, w/fruits & vegetables causing me grief- mostly due to the plants natural defense mechanisms & oxalates in so many of them. Of course, some meats & even chocolate have oxalates, so it requires a lot of research. It's been a lot of experimenting to figure this out, even knowing that it's subject to change from what's working now. No seed oils, no vegetable oils, & zero sugar/starches has been serving me well. It's such a process, but always worth it if you can really zero in on what does/does not work for your particular body & lifestyle. Appreciate the conversation Reg, it's so important to say it out loud~ helps everyone, & plenty of us had little to no input on this stage of life. Thanks so much~ Sam in AZ
Oh shoot~ yes! Not "over-supplementing", & I am definitely guilty of that. I have whittled it down to CoQ10, Myo Inositol, Maca root w/DHEA, pro & pre biotics (enzymes), D3+K2, & a whole food based women's multi-vitamin that's heavy on the B vitamins. Herbs I take do vary, but not all the time.
Plz pardon my chattiness, but I'm not seeing any links under this post? Also, I've been researching milk thistle, but the dosage recommendations are all over the place! Do you happen to have info and/or suggestions for daily amount~ btw, post meno here, 56 yrs old. Thanks so much =) Sammy in AZ
@@RV-there-Yet I don’t mind the chattiness. I think it’s great that we are sharing information. I agree the dosage is up and down for milk thistle. In the liver cleanse the milk thistle has 125 mg and you can take it up to three capsules daily. It’s made by Thorne and the functional doctor has set that up for me so I’m not sure you can get it online without a medical provider referral but why not try. Here is the link.www.thorne.com/search?q=Liver+cleanse
One of the problems with taking out Red Meat is that it's so nutrient dense and provides so much nutritionally to us that you end up having to do all of this supplementation! Everything's a toss-up right...
@@reggisweat Thanks so much~ I'm grateful. I do have an acct. w/Wellavate & they sell Thorne I believe. Actually, I'm now recalling Thorne's Myo Inositol as the first one I tried, several years back. I'd also read up on milk thistle back then too, but I'd forgotten~ there's just so much =)
So glad you are not afraid to speak on these topics. So many women in our stage of life suffer in silence. These discussions help so many of us who are dealing with negative changes that we experience with menopause. My mother never talked about it but us kids could tell she was having problems. I have daughters in their mid 30’s and I want them to have all the knowledge they can about it so they won’t feel like they were hit by a truck when symptoms start to appear in them later on. Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge!
Just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and really appreciate the information you've been sharing! Can't wait to implant some of your tips to get healthy again and just feel good in my own skin...😊
Hi Reggi! Awesome video. Thank you. My sister Caren referred me to you! Curious to get the link to the home liver cleanse please share with me. Too, do you have an Amazon store where all your preferred supplements are listed. I’m good on mine but others might appreciate know your favs! Take care. Keep this coming.
I think it is a smart approach to help lessen symptoms or triggers to hot flashes which sugar can be a major culprit. Everyone os different so I would eliminate temporarily to see if it helps.
Hello Regi and thanks for this video. Here are my issues: belly fat and sleep. I've been dieting since 2019 lost 120 pounds, gained about 20 back and cant get it moving again. I work a shift job, 12 hours at a time. I do resistance training and HIIT cardio but still no change in my weight. HELP!! I'm going to try the Coq10 and milk thistle for 30 to 90 days and see if any changes. If you could help me with a how many calories I should be eating daily, it would be greatly appreciated. I eat mostly healthy, except sweets but cutting down.. Age 59 weight 205. Thanks
I definitely understand with hot flashes. Primrose oil has help me decrease . Also having lot muscle ache which is common side effect of the change. Are u using hormones replacement and or what are your thoughts.
I need help with menopausal body odor and insomnia. I am taking Macafem. Please help. Also, hair loss and breaking fingernails. Did a 7 day fast and lost 10lbs. I also take Haritaki herb for brain support.
I am not familiar with Macafem. Please speak with your doctor. I like that you are fasting, not sure about the body odor but the insomnia is a symptom of menopause. You should speak with the doctor how to manage it. There are so many reasons the body is reacting this way. I certainly feel for you my friend. I think you are on the right track holistically though.
How do you maintain the fullness of your face after menopause? Especially after weightloss? I would like my full youthful face back and still lose weight everywhere else. You have a nice full youthful looking face.
Thank you for that compliment although I the only suggestion I can make is to look into collagen supplements. Seems to help with elasticity for the skin cells. It is a battle but be encouraged. We can only do the best we can. 💛
@reggisweat yeah, you are right. It's a struggle. I put collagen peptide powder in my coffee in the morning. The kind Jennifer Aniston uses. My face looks more full when I gain weight but obviously I don't want that. I like a nice slender face but not so much that I lose that youthful glow ✨️

Do you think drinking sparkling water, like San Pellegrino is bad for you?
I don't think so although you should be rotating it with good flat water as well to keep a balance from the bubbles.
How do you maintain the fullness of your face after menopause? Especially after weightloss? I would like my full youthful face back and still lose weight everywhere else. You have a nice full youthful looking face.
