Have patience. I'm working on the surfshark thing. But a good way to describe me. Is low tech red neck. But I think if you're not trying to learn something. Until the day we die. Arnt we wasting our life?
I love how you lead with “I am not qualified to offer relationship advice” immediately before sharing some of the best relationship advice that anyone could ever hope to hear.
I'm old enough to have kids your age, and I promise that "still figuring it out" is the best way to be. I hope everyone spends their lives happily still figuring it out.
I’m 65 and married for 40 years. A relationship is something that takes constant attention . I make sure to tell my wife that I love her several times a day and thank her for everything she does for me. I make little gifts for her for no reason. I open doors for her and we still hold hands when we walk down the street and watch tv together.
I’m 65, married for 35 years. 2 kids. I’ve never had a flicking clue about what’s going on. Played it by ear, went by instinct and got to now. I didn’t plan because plan all like, but we’ve all got a proverbial bullet with our name on it that’s been flying since we were born. Enjoy life, try not to hurt anyone and love each other. Thanks for sharing this life , N.
To add to the original post. In college I was lucky to meet and have friends from many country’s. One was from India, his family was quite well off and he was going to merry when he turned 30. He had not met his wife to be but he was sure things would work out. I question him as to how he knew his marriage would work, he explained that as a young child he was taught the as long as he respected his bride and she returned that respect then over time love would come. I have never forgotten that advice and I think you can get through a lot as long you give and receive that respect.
4:56 That relationship advice is 120% spot-on. I also feel it to be a choice and a practice, not merely something that just happens to you. I love this TH-camr just a little bit more now.
Your professional journey is inspiring! I just graduated and have no idea what lies ahead for me. But it's refreshing to know that a single career choice won't define the rest of my life
i have been a kitchen helper, a deliveryvan-driver, a sales person, a callcenter-salesperson, a tech-hotline-person, a secretary, a programmer and a bookkeeper so far. i am 40 and learned for 4 years to be an airplane-mechanic right after highschool. i give you 3 guesses what job i never had and the first 2 dont count. ;)
I've spent my life doing what I thought was the right path for life, getting a PhD, getting a good job, house etc. After 12+ years at that job and being what most people would consider successful I've recently come to the realization that what I thought I had "figured out" was just what society had figured out for me, what the accepted norms had driven me to. I've realized I'm really "still figuring it out" for myself, what works for me, what is unique to me. So many people spend their lives being driven to the accepted norms of society, they lose what makes them...them. So I think it's ok to spend your life "still figuring it out" and live your life how you want and be happy and fulfilled by it.
That shedding Madrone bark makes an awesome poison oak remedy. Steep it like a strong tea and keep it in the fridge. If an oak rash breaks out wipe a soaked cotton ball over the areas and it should help with the itching and speed healing, and the cold temp of it feels good too
Relationship advice: for not just romantic relationships, but ANY interaction: the lying really has to stop. When you lie, you are saying ‘you aren’t worth my time to be honest’ and ‘I intend to send you in a hurtful direction by lying’ and most importantly, ‘I want to hurt you via the negative and destructive consequences of dishonesty’. Nice.
As for "figuring it all out"- I am very quickly heading towards 70 and I'm still not sure what i want to be when I grow up. The journey has been more important for me than the various rest stops along the way so far. I would tell you to have fun on your own journey, but your videos show that your journey is great.
You are a breath of fresh air. Love the joy you share, and your humour is low key hilarious. The "i should call her" line after sniffing your fingers had me rolling. Keep up the great work kiddo, youve got the world as your oyster. Pun intended.
I have watched most of your videos and I can't believe that I just realized that I am constantly smiling throughout every single one. Thanks for that.😊
Love being like art is a surprisingly good analogy - someone can't purposefully just make a certain kind of art, especially "someone else's" kind of art. It is a blend of who they are, and how they roll, with the work and dedication to nurture the context and situations and practices that result in it emerging.
That "that's what hapoens when you have weirdly talented friends with ADHD" kind of sums up all of my friemd groups. It makes it so much better honestly.
This was one of my FAVORITE videos. I mean, they are all funny, informative and enjoyable but this one was awesome. two thumbs up for the favorite tree and the person that asked that one. keep up the great work!
I don't think I've seen menziesii before, but that really resembles manzanita, which is also pretty cool. The violently red bark is nice, but the best part is putting your hand on it in the summer to feel the coolness.
Who would have though, that watching a queer lumberjack talk about weird dates, axes, beavers and whatnot would be so wholesome? Thanks for being here.😃
Oh. My. Gosh. I owe you a debt of gratitude; you helped me finally put a name to what I do: Personal Support Worker! I'd never heard the term before, but apparently it's a thing in Canada. I'm so excited because the term I've been using, Personal Aide, doesn't really describe what I do! Thank you!
Hi Nicole, I have been following your content for a while now, I love how you are just being you, and how you keep it real. As a fellow Canadian I apreciate your humor and professionalism in your videos. You ate a true inspiration and have taught me some lessons with your incredible wisdom! Keep it up with the amazing content, and Wood you know it I gotta split!
i feel like her okie-dokies could be a drinking game (in a good way) also, this was a fully charming video (as usual). Thank you for being so open and honest
Enjoyed! Walked the woods in Idaho, found a dozen axe heads, mostly double-bitted, met a couple of collectors here in Wisconsin who have hundreds. Keep on choppin'
I just enjoy your bubbly, positive attitude towards life - it's a breath of fresh air in an otherwise complex world. Don't lose your optimism. And yes, I already use SurfShark LOL. Cheers from London (ON).👍
U-Hauling on the third date? That's moving slowly! ;) I love your reference to Fromm. That was a major realization when I took time off relationships during a divorce and that I have applied to my second marriage.
I love all the happines and joy you are spreading in all your contant. You make me smile with every answer. You are a huge inspiration and all that i see in your videos makes me feel more excited, looking forward for my year work and travel in kanada. What a beautiful country with beautiful people like you!
Life is about living not just existing. You my friend are living it to the fullest. Learning, exploring and soaking it up day by day. Just remember that even on the cloudiest days the sun is still shining on the other side waiting for your smile just like you wait for the warm rays to grace your skin. Keep up the good work and have fun doing it. 😎
I don't know if you've considered this but going live one night a week for Q&Eh might be profitable. I've seen people get $1200 in a single one hour live stream. There's a lot of people who would be more than happy to show you some support. I personally like sending a $5 donation during a live stream just to see my favorite TH-camr's say thank you. I don't know if that's something you would even be interested in but it's extra money. I love your channel and obviously I'm not the only one. Keep up the awesome work. 🤘🤘
Aw Nicole!! Sarahs immediately town is near me, ANDDD in the lower mainland there is a street named Arbutus, where there are a lot of Arbutus trees!! Be safe out there!
Some day I would love to see you and the Van Wives do a collaboration... I think the conversation would be awesome. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your life with us.
The algorithm hit it out of the park when it suggested your channel. Not sure what brought me here since most of the channels I watch are about guns or fishing, but I’m sure glad it did!! Good stuff!!
I was just referred to your videos and...after one, subscribed and now I am going through the playlists. I collect weaponry, love nature, and am queer so I am relating to multiple things! 😊
You are a very interesting person. You also have a smile that melts my heart. Not trying to sweet talk you for any reason other than I just wanted to know, I think you're awesome.
Your favorite tree looks so much like the eucalyptus tree's we have here in australia in the looks and the fact it sheds it's bark and stay green all year round also love your out look on life

Much love from the tip of the mitten state!!!
For being a lesbian you sure have a fixation with ,, wood. I wonder what Dr. Freud would say 😉
Anyone that tells you that they know what they're doing is lying
> everyone spends their lives happily still figuring it out
and we'll be dead as a species in 'bout 100 years...sounds great yea.

There is no way to watch Nicoles videos until the end without having a smile on your face. She's just awesome. ❤
Agreed!
...and so pretty.
😊😊😊
😂 especially when she shows her beaver

This, maintain, nurture and cherish the joy of what you have, not all of us manage to find each other in that blink of existence we get.
Okay dokey❤

“Because cookies should never be annoying”
Oh my heart at the adorable pupper jumping out in the background 😂
I love her reaction to some of these questions, just so wholesome

For someone who claims to not be qualified to give relationship advice, you did have some excellent points. So thank you.
Your professional journey is inspiring! I just graduated and have no idea what lies ahead for me. But it's refreshing to know that a single career choice won't define the rest of my life
Yassss! I've been through many different careers and have learned so much through each new path :)
Just stay open and receptive, the rest will eventually unfold for you. ❤

I love the beaver puppet. I mean aside from the obvious tongue in cheek double entendre, it's adorable and fun.
When I first moved to the PNW from the midwest, the arbutus tree absolutely fascinated me. I'm glad I'm not the only person who loves arbutus ☺️💚
They are amazing trees. I love when they crawl down the cliffs near the water.
Sooty and Sweep is a British puppet show that's been around for literally decades. The puppetry is stellar.

These answers are just so wholesome 😂. Also, will we ever see the beaver friend again?! I just love your guys' interaction!
Wishing you the best, and hoping the beaver puppet makes a return appearance sometime.
If you aren't surrounded by a video crew backed up by an editing staff, you are truly amazing at putting your content to video.👏👏👏

The puppet improv was absolutely fantastic. A natural choice since their chosen medium is wood.
So many okie dokie’s 😂❤
But we love when she says that
I’m not saying it in a mean way. I love when she says okie dokie. I just thought it was funny how she said it over and over again.

Love you Nicole, your such a nice person and I really enjoyed your collaboration with the beaver puppet. Would love to see more of the two of you! 😊
I love myself some innuendos, so watching your videos is just a treat to myself because few people scratch that itch I have like you do! ❤
The dog hopping into the scene behind was perfect
Another amazing Q and A video with lots of okie dokies - couldn’t be any better! 😊

Why hasn't Verizon or something paid this woman a fortune to be the face of their company yet? She's got the most telegenic face of all time
This was the largest emotional roller coaster of a video I have seen in a long time. Watched / rode the lightning several times.
