  • In today's basic White Belt BJJ techniques, I use as a Black Belt I'm going to show you 2 of my best back takes that work off a guard passing situation. Taking the back off of a guard pass when the person turtles up is one of my most successful ways to secure back mount in Brazilian Jiujitsu.
    The back takes are simple and can be used as shown or combined together with other Brazilian Jiu-jitsu techniques. I've hit both of these techniques at grappling competitions like the No Gi Pans, Pans , ADCC trials and others.

    camera guy got roasted at the beginning but as always great production value with the thumbnailed tournament footage and the fast-forwards when the guys are re-positioning!

    Idk if it's new or if I've just not noticed it before, but the speed ramps/ cuts during your transitioning is slick. cuts out the unnecessary downtime and makes the actual instruction smoother. If only we could do that during live instruction...

    My coach just went over these, love the little details you brought to attention and explained well. I also love this series, could you maybe make a video explaining how to go deep into techniques. Ways to train, or mindset while training, so you can use these at a high level?

      How do you mean "deep" into techniques?

    • @fupasaan
      @fupasaan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chewjitsu I asume it means getting a better understanding of the position/concepts that go into the techniques. How to adapt the sensitivity to the position and actually understand the little battles in between. Your video about winning the grip fight helped me to start looking at training this way but I'm still having trouble finding out what to actually look for. I also hear some people saying at a certain point you should stop looking for new techniques and go deeper into the techniques you already know. What does that mean exactly and how do I open my mind up to understand techniques this way.

    Hey Chewie, just wanted to say thanks for the constant content!!!
    I wanted to ask your opinion or advice on my situation. Had my first competition today, I'm a 4 stripe white belt, I won my first match by DQ after I got slammed by my opponent after locking in a triangle, I was also winning in points but the slam kind of ended it....
    Anyway, after that the officials entered the wrong decision and the guy who slammed me progressed to the next round in the bracket. Being my first comp I wasn't sure what was happening and waiting until I was called for my next match which unfortunately didn't happen...all of a sudden the bracket was done and dusted and I didn't get to roll again. Is this a one off for competitions and im just unlucky or is there something I could have done to change that outcome?
    Thanks mate

    Hey Chewy I have my first bjj competition tomorrow morning. I wrestled one year in highschool and 8 matches, so I kind of understand the feeling of competing, but it’s been a while and I’m not sure exactly what to expect. If you could give me one tip for my mindset going into the competition, what would it be?

    Jiu jitsu guys being mean or biased against wresters in the gym that use wrestling with their jiu jitsu. Thoughts ideas?

    I'm a 44 year old, doing Jujitsu for 3 years now. I only recently got awarded my blue belt, and was delighted. I felt I finally was making progress. Last Friday in training I got swept by a purple belt and landed on my shoulder. I immediately felt my clavicle snap. It's a grim outlook, surgery to fix a plate and reattach ligaments then plate removal at a later date. My question is do you think there is any possibility of me continuing jujitsu? Also have you had any older members of your gym get injured and continue? Thanks.

      Damn bro. Sorry to hear that. Recover fully and do all the PT as prescribed. Come back to training when you're actually ready to and cleared by your PT team, not when you think you're ready
