In this video, I am upcycling this dated orange 90s dress. I bleached it, turned it into a matching two piece set, and then dyed it using avocados! I also made a matching doggy dress for Daisy!
    Materials used:

    Overlocker - amzn.to/2PC1jpD
    Iron - amzn.to/2wFZNwl
    Fabric Shears - amzn.to/2PAlhRI
    Needle and Thread - Michael's
    Elastic Thread - Flying Tiger
    Sewing Pins - amzn.to/2Ttf7nc
    Fabric Marker - amzn.to/2PBMGCz
    Seam Ripper - Michael's
    Measuring Tape - amzn.to/3aPZ7CI
    Buttons - Joann's
    Ruler - amzn.to/3114ADI
    Pot - Thrifted at Goodwill
    Rubber Gloves - Walmart
    Avocados - Local Grocery Store
    Bleach - Walmart
    Soymilk - Local Grocery Store
*I forgot to mention this in the video, but I also used Interfacing that I got at Joann's.

You need a button foot if you haven’t gotten one already. They make it so much easier. 💜 I’m surprised your machine didn’t come with one.

I'll definitely have to look for mine! For some reason, button holes are so intimidating to me!! 🤪

When I've dyed old clothes, old stains, though may be unnoticeable, can show up and not absorb dye at the same rate even when using a darker color dye. May have also been a flaw in the original fabric or flaw from original dying. Hopefully you've figured out a fix by now.

Love the avocado-dye idea! I'm wondering why you didn't dye the original dress before starting your sewing. That way, if the fabric had turned into an ugly color, you wouldn't have wasted all the sewing.

I subscribed and watched the whole thing! This is purely vicarious, as I don't own a sewing machine, but I dream of upcycling and designing my own clothes someday, like my grandma. Did you ever figure out how to get the stain out?

    • @littletoh
      @littletoh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thank you so much! I hope you start! All you need is a basic sewing machine and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have! ♥️The stain faded after the next time I washed it! It's still there but barely noticeable! 😊

I'm so sorry you feel this way. My channel is about sewing and upcycling. I have never and will never force my political beliefs onto my audience. I started this channel to share my work and creativity with everyone, regardless of their political beliefs. However, wearing masks (especially in September of 2020, which is when I posted this video) is a public health issue, and is not and should not be a political one.

Oh God, I was liking your videos until you had to mention politics. Reeeeeeeeeeee! That's what you sound like. A beautiful color reminds you of the Commander in chief? Grow up. I hope you are happy with the rising cost of everything, including your material used to make these videos. Sad.

Politics?? Wearing a mask isn't political....people made it that way. It's about not spreading germs.
