  • Hello and welcome back to Mickey's Flightdeck.
    In this video I will show you how I have built my Flightdeck Door and Lights panel. These will be part of my Boeing 737-800 pedestal.
    You can find all the needed files to cut out and engrave your own panel as well as the 3D print files in the member section of my website.
    Also many other plans for building your own homecockpit can be found on www.mickeys-flightdeck.de.

    I love learning from you experimenting on your designs. Helps me understand what's possible. Thanks for documenting all of it!

    Another great video!! Thank you Mike. A suggestion, under one of the blank panels can live your arduinos for controlling your pedestal panels.

      Yes, this could be a solution. I'm planning to position all the components on the bottom of the pedestal.

      @@Mickeys_Flightdeck On the bottom is a good place. The pedestal is good for hiding many items, I for instance have a big bass speaker on the floor in the bottom of my pedestal over a hole in the floor. It works very well.

    Wow! Was very informative and helpful. You deserve a lot more 🎉. Its always that cockpit builders don't get a lot of views. But I love your spirit. Hats off.

    Hi Mike, I’m trying to find the video where you would have shown how to print out these knobs and paint them but I’m not being able to find any. I remember watching one where you resin casted the knobs but they didn’t look as good as the ones in this video. Are you using a different technique now? And how are you making the black stripes?

    • @Mickeys_Flightdeck
      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The answer is, that I never showed how I'm printing these new knobs. I'm now using a resin printer. This produces really fantastic results. But when you don't have such a printer I would still recommend to resin cast them if you need several copies. The black stripes can be done by masking everything that shouldn't be black with masking tape. You can find pictures of this on my instagram account.

    Could you tell me what is the type name of the 4mm fastener? When i'm googling, the name is DZUS fastener but i can't find it in e-commerce

    • @Mickeys_Flightdeck
      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not using dzus fasteners. That are normal countersunk screws. I think I'm doing an introduction in my overhead frame video.

    Hi mike
    How's the way you lock the knob with the rotary switch or dimmer? What tools do you use for it?

    • @Mickeys_Flightdeck
      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have designed a 2.5 mm hole in the knob. Then cut a 3 mm thread into it and secure it with a set screw.

      What kind of set screw? The cone point or flat?

      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hodor2135 The flat one.
