Love the slider changes. If possible, can you just explain why certain sliders are set to what they're at? Just so we understand more about what actually does what in case we want to also adjust it a bit off of yours?
For sure!! This video was just the general release video, so it's too many sliders to really get into it without making the video super long...but any update videos I do will be more specific and then I'll definitely get WAY into detail on the sliders!! Really appreciate it! I'm actually doing the final testing on the cpu vs cpu sliders rn!! The last stumbling block on those is the INSANELY low turnovers in those games!!! Getting better but I'm still just stunned at how much work all the turnover related sliders needed!
@@racerx3043 i run my leagues on ps5 and stream on twitch, im like tge game master and just compete against my viewers with limited trades per year to try make things realistic. Usually do 6 expansion team league. So gotta draft, trade, or sign a superstar type of deal.
“The Assists Possession Result slider can now be adjusted as expected independently from the Player Regression Rate slider” From the new patch update. Knowing 2K this probably messed something else up
it works on PS5, my only suggestion is to increase injury duration to 95-100. i’ve seen multiple players come back from a broken ankle injury in a span of 2-3 weeks, which isn’t realistic at all

It doesn’t matter if you have user injuries or injuries in general up to 100, your team doesn’t start getting injured until around mid December/January. And then they don’t start getting seriously injured until late in the season. 2K is real sneaky with this
Almost all the players in my season are PROGRESSING like crazy. I’m just 1/4 way through and guys have moved up 2,3,4 overall. How can I stop it and/or reverse it???!!!

Awesome sliders man! The only one real flaw I've noticed playing with the HOF sliders is that it seems like anyone can make a 3. Some players with like a 60 3PT rating will take and sometimes make 3s. I lowered the CPU 3PT success down a bit too but still happens.
Yeah that's a problem I've been tracking as well. It's weird cuz it really does happen even if u lower the slider. Now obviously putting it really low would solve it...but we don't wanna mess up the realism with the good shooters who take the bulk of the 3's. So I guess I kinda had to make my peace with the annoying 3 from a guy who can't shoot every once in a while. When I do the next update, I'm gonna be re-testing tho. So we'll see. How much did u lower the cpu's 3pt success slider?
@@ThePopboy Right now I have the CPU 3PT Success at a 46 but still see it happen often. But I also am avoiding lowering it too much so that actual shooters make their shots consistently. TBH I think the problem is more of non-shooters tendencies to shoot the 3. Because if you leave a non shooter wide open they will take the shot almost every time. I know you dont control Tendencies with your sliders, but I think having non shooters have close to 0 in 3pt shot tendency it would solve it a bit.
For example I play Player Lock and played against Ausar Thompson who has a 72 3Pt rating. In the game he shot 6-11 from 3! Idk which is worse the fact that he shot over 50% from 3 or the fact that he even attempted 11 3s in a game with a 72 rating.

Yeah I totally agree. I mean I'm pretty sure they could figure out how to make a next gen version for PC. It sucks. I'm about to dive DEEP into last gen tho!!! In the meantime, I would say 2K23 sliders r more transferrable to 2K24...that wasn't the case at all on new gen, but it's better on last gen. Still needs work tho. ON IT!!!!!⛏⛏😤
Been plying with these on Pro - had some games come down to the wire, had a blowout win. Still getting used to the shot meter. But it has made the games really fun.

Man I'm VERY sorry for the late reply...but yeah I've tested on all eras, and I would use these in all eras. The only thing that's different is the cap stuff in the past eras...but it doesn't really matter. The thing with that is 2K tries to make the cap amounts historically accurate, so they actually have the cap levels locked in from yr 2 on. So u can set the starting cap amount to whatever u want for yr 1...but it's always gonna go to the same level for yr 2, 3, etc. I've also noticed some different results with the really old eras...especially with the amount of 3's taken. Of course that makes sense. But that doesn't apply to the LeBron era as much. Still wanna find time to do custom simulation sliders for each era! This is one of the reasons I'm SO excited to focus more on only new gen goin forward: I can get so much more in depth and come out with little tweaks to fine tune everything for each era!! I'm actually about to do that for player lock rn!!!😬😬🔥🔥🔥
Just a heads up for anyone playing Era's. If you download these sliders it will include the play in Tournament. Just noticed so not sure if there is a fix for this in the settings somehwere. Love you and everything you do Pop!
That's a great question. I guess TECHNICALLY these r for the standard, modern era...but I do test them in the other eras as well. I almost always find that it's not necessary or desirable to have different settings for the historical eras. I am in the process of doing deeper testing on specific eras with all these settings, so I'll definitely put something out if there's some era-specific adjustments we wanna make. The area u might think should be different is the contract and mainly the salary cap sliders. However, I believe the amounts by which the cap increases each year is actually locked into place for all the historical eras. I'm still confirming that, but that's how it was last year, and that's how it has come out so far this year. So that means that the salary cap inflation slider does nothing in the past eras. It also means that it doesn't matter what we start at for the cap amount because the cap amounts for year 2 and on r going to be what they're going to be. I think 2K is just trying to make them historically accurate. My main concern is just making things work in the game, so I'm looking into the other contract sliders to make sure they work just as well for the historical cap amounts. The game does adjust what those sliders mean for the past eras, so we should be good. I'll for sure get something out if there's any changes we should make tho!👍

Also input ur preferences on the season length, playoff length, etc. Then just create the league with all the other default settings. Then, once u go into the league, go to the settings and hit Y/triangle and u can download the rest of the settings!! Just search my tag "The Popboy" and everything will come up. The only reason u wanna put in that other stuff before u enter the league is cuz u can't edit that stuff once u get into the league. The real problem is the fact that it doesn't let u download the settings DURING the initial set up. U have to download them AFTER u actually create the league. Hey Pop! I’m thinking about buying the game now that is on a small sale. Is it worth it? I play offline MyNba only and focus on realistic gameplay and also like to feel I’m in control. Do you think gameplay is better? Of course with sliders and all that good stuff
Yeah I agree with the other reply!! WORTH IT!!! The way the players play in new gen is such an improvement from the past! Like for example, I'm a Nuggets fan...and I used to not even play with Jokic in the game. He's such a unique player and 2K didn't really capture much of it at all. It was like a cookie-cutter player that looked like Jokic. But now, I couldn't feel anymore different about it!! Also, I think this is one of the best 2K's in terms of having it be skill-based, and having that element of striving to get better and do more cool, advanced things...but at the same time, it's not like a total pain in the ass to function on a basic level if ur new. I like the balance they struck there. Anyway I hope u got it or u get and enjoy!! I got all the MyNBA settings and gameplay sliders!! Oh man it's that glitch!!! This is like the 3rd or 4th time I've heard of it happening!! So definitely it should NOT be like that! For some reason, in some rare cases, downloading the MyNBA sliders makes ur gameplay sliders turn to zero. No idea why. Those r 2 totally different sliders so downloading these SHOULD do absolutely nothing to the user/cpu sliders. It's an easy fix tho...after u download the MyNBA sliders, just go back into the user/cpu sliders and re-download the correct gameplay sliders. U'd just search my tag "The Popboy" and the different difficulty levels should come up for u. We recently did an update to those sliders as well, so I'll leave the link to that video in case u haven't seen it. I'm about to update some of the MyNBA settings as well, so keep a lookout for those videos coming too! hey man, have u done any tests on the pass settings? i tried using ur settings from an older 2k but it seems like sometimes they just won’t pass the ball when i press it when using icon passing
Yep I definitely have! For new gen, the combo that gave the best results was this: Direction: 68 Distance: 31 Openness: 1 I tweeted this but I shoulda done a community tab post on it too! My bad!! This also reminded me of one of the things I've said the most with 2K goin back years: I'm always like well that wouldn't have been a turnover if u woulda passed it one of the 1st SEVEN times I tried to press pass!!!!!🤬🤬
Awesome! By the way, double teaming seems to be broken. I think "Stay Attached - Always" and "Catch Hedge" might be interfering with it. All I know is, if I don't leave those settings on automatic, there is literally nothing I can do to trigger a double team when I call for one. It won't respond to LB, and it won't respond to any of my double team settings in Gameplan. It wasn't like this before. Any thoughts on that? Thank you, sir.
Hmm this is strange. I put those settings on hard hedge and no for stay attached, and I haven't had a problem calling for a double. I'm gonna look into it more in depth tho cuz that is weird. So it's just in all situations right? Or r u only talking about doubling on pick n rolls?
@@ThePopboy Thank you for your response! After diving a little deeper into this, I think the culprit is the "Stay Attached - Always" setting. I don't remember that setting being an option in previous versions. I think it was just Yes, No, or Automatic. But whatever the case, when I leave that option on Automatic, double teaming seems to work again. I get that Stay Attached means "stay attached," but my thinking is that at least LB should still override that, no? Anyway, thank you for all your hard work!
How good are these sliders for shooting contested shots? In 2k it’s impossible to make even one slightly contested shot while irl any player in the league can atleast make a couple of them, it’s annoying, especially if u try to beat the shot clock or the buzzer
I just did some testing, and I'm not seeing the regression slider impacting simulated assist stats (I also checked the progression slider). What am I missing?
It's not that they impact the stats...it's that the game literally will not let us have different settings for those 2 settings. Know what I mean? So when u change the regression slider, the assists slider also changes, and vice-versa. They should have different settings to get the best results. That's why we have to change it back and forth like that.
Video shows 54 for assists then it was put to 47, and then the video shows 54 for player regression. Which is correct? Is there information about controller settings anywhere?
They're both correct...I also just did a post on the community tab cuz I coulda made that more clear, so that's my bad. The correct setting for the regression is 54. The right setting for assists is 47. So basically because of the bug, the only way we can do it is to have both of these sliders set to 47 during the season so we get realistic assist numbers while the games r being played...but then changing them both to 54 during the offseason so we get the right amount of player regression during that time when most of the progression/regression is happening. If 2K ever fixes it, we'll be able to just set the regression to 54 and the assists to 47 and forget it. But changing one changes the other automatically, so we have to sit here and do this dance to get it to work right

So I have lineups on auto. But I’ve noticed sometimes lower rated players starting over higher rated players. Are there any coaching sliders to change that or should I just do it manually for now on.
Yeah the only way to truly avoid the game being dumb like that is to manually set ur lineup...but it's not as tedious and time-consuming as u might think. If u just go into the gameplan tab under coaching, u just select all teams (or might say all opponents) and then just set a universal depth chart and assign minutes for every game. So it's really just setting it once unless an injury messes it up and u gotta adjust it. But it's pretty quick. Then of course u wanna go into coach settings and put it on manual. But it's also important to put the substitution pattern on rotation. U can put the actual substitution setting on auto tho. That way the coach will make the subs for u, but he'll be following the rotation u set. I also do the whole rotation timeline thing where I tell the game exactly when I want everybody in the game. Now that's DEFINITLEY tedious and time-consuming tho!!
@@KoolKidSimsyou can also check the coach he has sliders like young/old and system proficiency were you can adjust what your coach likes. If you want a younger player playing take that slider and move it closer to young.
What settings do I need to tweak? If the shot is not an excellent release it misses 100% of the time and I’m sick of it. 10 games in and I’m shooting 16% from 3.

Thanks for this video. I tried your settings out and I have 2 questions. I noticed that during simulations, teams do not attempt any 3 point shots. Do you know how to fix this? Also, why did you disallow trades between CPU teams? Thanks
The trade thing between 2 CPU teams...I'll have to double check that cuz that shouldn't be the case. Crap I wonder if I accidentally had it set that way!!!?? For the 3PT attempts during simmed games, do u mean games where it's just a simple/quick sim between 2 CPU teams? Ur not talking about simming one of ur own games with like simcast or simcast live right?
@ThePopboy for the 3pt... it's for all games that I sim using simcast, and also all other games for other teams that are simulated. However, I checked that this only happens during the first two eras. As for the trades, yes you had them disabled.

So if it only happens for the 1st 2 eras...so that's Bird/Magic and Jordan then...so yeah that's 2K's programming trying to make the results fit the era. Cuz in those eras, they really didn't shoot anywhere near the amount of 3's they shoot today. That's really interesting cuz I've been looking for sliders that could/should be tweaked for different eras. Sounds like I need to do a simulation sliders update for different eras!! This is exactly the kinda thing that makes me wanna do only new gen in future years! I could get SO MUCH more in depth with things like that on new gen!!! In the meantime tho, u could go to the simulation sliders and increase the 3pt slider to get them to shoot more 3's in simulated games. Man I REALLY wanna test how much effect this has in the past eras!! Cuz clearly 2K has that stuff programmed and calibrated differently for different eras

Hey PS5 here. All of the sim stats and settings are great! The only thing that bothers me is the top PPG scorers are really low. It’s not that the top scorers aren’t scoring. But not many guys play more than 32mpg is there any way to fix this?
Oh I gotcha...so they're still shooting well and scoring good amounts for the minutes they're playing. That's good. There really is nothing that would affect the amount of minutes cpu teams choose to play their guys tho. That does suck now that I really think about it. It'd be a great idea for a slider...like a star player usage amount slider for simmed games. Damn. So how many mins per game is the guy who's leading the league in minutes averaging rn?
@@ThePopboy I’m 6 years in and there’s only 4 players avg over 25 and 20 over 20. Most of the superstar players only play about 31-33 mpg. I did fix it in another my league tho. Take over every team. Go to their coaching adjustments and see it to 10 man rotation 10 bench utilization. And then u can just unselect every team. And every year checked which teams got different coaches and do it for them.

Yeah the way they interact on those screens is pretty similar, so I would go under on the main off ball screen setting and all the other settings where u can do specific types of off ball screens. The only one I go over on is the flare screen. And that's only if I'm playing against the CPU. If I'm playing online against somebody, I might start with over, but some ppl run those flare screens just to get the defender behind the ball, and then they'll have him cut to the rim right off the flare screen. It's effective if done right. I ran into a couple times and had to switch the flare to have them go under on that one as well. The CPU doesn't really do that. If they run a flare, it's pretty much always just a flare. So over is good on those but under on everything else👍👍
Yeah they actually fixed it!! No more changing it back n forth!!! I updated the set to reflect the changes. So if u download it again, u'll see the correct settings for each. Should be player regression 54 and assists 47👍
If u do an online league like a MyNBA online, then these would definitely translate. If u guys play just quick games like Play Now online, then these wouldn't apply to that. These settings r all the "procedural" or off-court stuff. They're sliders for trades, contracts, player progression, simulation, etc. So that stuff wouldn't matter if it's just a one-off game that's not in a league. If u guys do an online MyNBA, then the admin of the league can set these settings, and they can select others and give them permission to change them as well!👍
Yeah for sure...u'd just have to identify what type of shot around the basket it is. If u go into the attribute progression sliders, u can see all the different types of attributes. So for this, we'd be looking at close shot, driving layup, post hook or maybe post fade. U can scroll thru the different phases of progression/regression. There's the growth period, the peak period and then the decline period. If u really don't want something specific to regress, u could just put the slider for the decline phase up to zero, instead of it being negative. If u just want something to not regress as much, then u can just increase that slider by a few.
Idk that's super weird cuz none of these affect the actual gameplay...u may just wanna double-check ur game speed setting (I have 53) and then ur User/CPU sliders. R u on my sliders for the gameplay? If so, it should say "custom" under the difficulty category for gameplay difficulty. That'd be the only things that would affect the gameplay. I wonder if something got changed somehow

If u go to ur offensive settings in the timeout menu and go to series, then select like 5 OUT, that should override everything else, and u should be good. They listen to that series thing over all the other settings👍👍

Yeah some...I'm pretty sure the amounts from year 2 and on r locked in stone. That was also the case with all the historical eras last year. That means the starting numbers r all that matter. I have tested for it but nothing's had an impact on it. Even the awareness sliders at 100. Smh. I might be thinking of a diff game...but I'm pretty sure they used to have some kinda "boundary forcefield" setting or something like that right?? It would let u adjust the amount of assistance on the boundary the game would provide....or like the amount of force it took for a player to actually go outta bounds. Idk why they remove stuff like that just randomly!! Like the pump fake discipline slider!!! I loved that thing!!!!

That is DEFINITELY a video-worthy question cuz it's rough. I have been testing it on and off but I'm gonna dive DEEP into it very soon. The problem is the hedge settings r still broken. The hedge defender doesn't do what he's supposed to on some settings. For that reason, I think the best method at this point is to try to make sure ur controlling the hedge defender when guarding a pick n roll. I would set the on ball screen settings to have them go over on all on ball screens. And then I would play like a centerfield or a free safety type of role with the hedge defender. Just in case u can't control the hedge defender, I would put the hedge settings on hard hedge. If they weren't broken, I would say soft hedge. But soft hedge is not soft hedge in the game. It looks more like catch hedge cuz he drops WAY too deep on soft hedge. He doesn't really hedge at all. He just kinda sits there in drop coverage. At least with hard hedge, he'll actually hedge some. For sure more coming on this!!
Okay that's weird cuz these aren't even the gameplay sliders. Did it somehow change ur game speed setting? R the user/cpu sliders still the same? Lemme know cuz that's weird
There's a couple settings to make sure u have right for that...both under controller settings. 1st, the shot timing setting, u can decide if u want it for shots and layups or just shots, but it should NOT be on real player %. I do shots and layups. 2nd, the jump shot meter should be set to ON and also the layup meter ON. Then there's all kinds of settings where u can customize ur meter like the size, shape, etc!👍
Does anyone have any recommendations for the an online league what i should do for the timers. Its just me and 2 other guys doing a league and i cant find anything what these timers should be on.
I leave them on and then use the settings for them (under the difficulty category). The settings kinda lessen the importance of that factor tho. It shouldn't have a massive effect on ratings, but it'll have a small effect if it's super high/super low. I like the added challenge of tyrna keep everybody happy while managing ur roster. It's definitely a realistic thing...but it's not the greatest job by 2K of executing that concept. So I keep it, but try to make it so it's not life-changing either way!👍👍

The thing with that is 2K tries to make the cap amounts historically accurate, so they actually have the cap levels locked in from yr 2 on. So u can set the starting cap amount to whatever u want for yr 1...but it's always gonna go to the same level for yr 2, 3, etc. I've also noticed some different results with the really old eras...especially with the amount of 3's taken. Of course that makes sense. But that doesn't apply to the LeBron era as much. This is one of the reasons I'm SO excited to focus more on only new gen goin forward: I can get so much more in depth and come out with little tweaks to fine tune everything for each era!! I'm actually about to do that for player lock rn!!!😬😬🔥🔥🔥

U can create any MyNBA u want and then just download the settings and they'll apply to anything u got goin. I feel like I'm missing what u mean tho. What's the difficulty ur running into?

I almost always find that it's not necessary or desirable to have different settings for the historical eras. I am in the process of doing deeper testing on specific eras with all these settings, so I'll definitely put something out if there's some era-specific adjustments we wanna make. The area u might think should be different is the contract and mainly the salary cap sliders. However, I believe the amounts by which the cap increases each year is actually locked into place for all the historical eras. I'm still confirming that, but that's how it was last year, and that's how it has come out so far this year. So that means that the salary cap inflation slider does nothing in the past eras. It also means that it doesn't matter what we start at for the cap amount because the cap amounts for year 2 and on r going to be what they're going to be. I think 2K is just trying to make them historically accurate. My main concern is just making things work in the game, so I'm looking into the other contract sliders to make sure they work just as well for the historical cap amounts. The game does adjust what those sliders mean for the past eras, so we should be good. I'll for sure get something out if there's any changes we should make tho!
Oh yeah these sliders r all the off-court stuff like trade, progression, simulation, etc...so player lock doesn't affect that kinda stuff. Player lock just affects the gameplay...and speaking of that, I am actually working on some slider tweaks just for player lock rn!! The current gameplay sliders r still tested and fully approved on player lock...but I've always wanted to do some player lock designed sliders to try to make it even better!! I'll have a vid on this pretty soon!!

it works on PS5, my only suggestion is to increase injury duration to 95-100. i’ve seen multiple players come back from a broken ankle injury in a span of 2-3 weeks, which isn’t realistic at all
I almost feel the same way. I feel like my team never gets injuries and when they do its like sprain and day to day. Never long periods of time.

@@pakmangaminglounge3536 2K put an injury algorithm for the user. It doesn’t matter if you have user injuries or injuries in general up to 100, your team doesn’t start getting injured until around mid December/January. And then they don’t start getting seriously injured until late in the season.

Awesome sliders man! The only one real flaw I've noticed playing with the HOF sliders is that it seems like anyone can make a 3. Some players with like a 60 3PT rating will take and sometimes make 3s. I lowered the CPU 3PT success down a bit too but still happens.
Yeah that's a problem I've been tracking as well. It's weird cuz it really does happen even if u lower the slider. Now obviously putting it really low would solve it...but we don't wanna mess up the realism with the good shooters who take the bulk of the 3's. So I guess I kinda had to make my peace with the annoying 3 from a guy who can't shoot every once in a while. When I do the next update, I'm gonna be re-testing tho. So we'll see. How much did u lower the cpu's 3pt success slider?
@@ThePopboy Right now I have the CPU 3PT Success at a 46 but still see it happen often. But I also am avoiding lowering it too much so that actual shooters make their shots consistently. TBH I think the problem is more of non-shooters tendencies to shoot the 3. Because if you leave a non shooter wide open they will take the shot almost every time. I know you dont control Tendencies with your sliders, but I think having non shooters have close to 0 in 3pt shot tendency it would solve it a bit.
For example I play Player Lock and played against Ausar Thompson who has a 72 3Pt rating. In the game he shot 6-11 from 3! Idk which is worse the fact that he shot over 50% from 3 or the fact that he even attempted 11 3s in a game with a 72 rating.

Just grab the Google doc (I'll leave the link below), input the injury and cap sliders. Also input ur preferences on the season length, playoff length, etc. Then just create the league with all the other default settings. Then, once u go into the league, go to the settings and hit Y/triangle and u can download the rest of the settings!! Just search my tag "The Popboy" and everything will come up. The only reason u wanna put in that other stuff before u enter the league is cuz u can't edit that stuff once u get into the league. The real problem is the fact that it doesn't let u download the settings DURING the initial set up. U have to download them AFTER u actually create the league. So it's really just the few things that I listed that u gotta enter in when ur creating it, and the rest u can download!!👍👍

Yeah I agree with the other reply!! WORTH IT!!! The way the players play in new gen is such an improvement from the past! Like for example, I'm a Nuggets fan...and I used to not even play with Jokic in the game. He's such a unique player and 2K didn't really capture much of it at all. It was like a cookie-cutter player that looked like Jokic. But now, I couldn't feel anymore different about it!! Also, I think this is one of the best 2K's in terms of having it be skill-based, and having that element of striving to get better and do more cool, advanced things...but at the same time, it's not like a total pain in the ass to function on a basic level if ur new. I like the balance they struck there. Anyway I hope u got it or u get and enjoy!! I got all the MyNBA settings and gameplay sliders!! I’m noticing bigs this year missing a lot more layups on smaller players on switches and mismatches, is this an issue you’ve seen at all?
So I downloaded your file, new to the channel. Are the pu/user sliders supposed to show 0 on custom?
Oh man it's that glitch!!! This is like the 3rd or 4th time I've heard of it happening!! So definitely it should NOT be like that! For some reason, in some rare cases, downloading the MyNBA sliders makes ur gameplay sliders turn to zero. No idea why. Those r 2 totally different sliders so downloading these SHOULD do absolutely nothing to the user/cpu sliders. It's an easy fix tho...after u download the MyNBA sliders, just go back into the user/cpu sliders and re-download the correct gameplay sliders. U'd just search my tag "The Popboy" and the different difficulty levels should come up for u. We recently did an update to those sliders as well, so I'll leave the link to that video in case u haven't seen it. I'm about to update some of the MyNBA settings as well, so keep a lookout for those videos coming too! By the way, double teaming seems to be broken. I think "Stay Attached - Always" and "Catch Hedge" might be interfering with it. All I know is, if I don't leave those settings on automatic, there is literally nothing I can do to trigger a double team when I call for one. It won't respond to LB, and it won't respond to any of my double team settings in Gameplan. It wasn't like this before. Any thoughts on that?

@@ThePopboy Thank you for your response! After diving a little deeper into this, I think the culprit is the "Stay Attached - Always" setting. I don't remember that setting being an option in previous versions. I think it was just Yes, No, or Automatic.
But whatever the case, when I leave that option on Automatic, double teaming seems to work again. I get that Stay Attached means "stay attached," but my thinking is that at least LB should still override that, no?

How good are these sliders for shooting contested shots? In 2k it’s impossible to make even one slightly contested shot while irl any player in the league can atleast make a couple of them, it’s annoying, especially if u try to beat the shot clock or the buzzer
I just did some testing, and I'm not seeing the regression slider impacting simulated assist stats (I also checked the progression slider). What am I missing?
It's not that they impact the stats...it's that the game literally will not let us have different settings for those 2 settings. Know what I mean? So when u change the regression slider, the assists slider also changes, and vice-versa. They should have different settings to get the best results. That's why we have to change it back and forth like that.
Video shows 54 for assists then it was put to 47, and then the video shows 54 for player regression. Which is correct?

They're both correct...I also just did a post on the community tab cuz I coulda made that more clear, so that's my bad. The correct setting for the regression is 54. The right setting for assists is 47. So basically because of the bug, the only way we can do it is to have both of these sliders set to 47 during the season so we get realistic assist numbers while the games r being played...but then changing them both to 54 during the offseason so we get the right amount of player regression during that time when most of the progression/regression is happening. If 2K ever fixes it, we'll be able to just set the regression to 54 and the assists to 47 and forget it. But changing one changes the other automatically, so we have to sit here and do this dance to get it to work right

So I have lineups on auto. But I’ve noticed sometimes lower rated players starting over higher rated players. Are there any coaching sliders to change that or should I just do it manually for now on.
For example the game keeps starting an 82 rated Austin Reeves over my 90 rated draft pick.
Yeah the only way to truly avoid the game being dumb like that is to manually set ur lineup...but it's not as tedious and time-consuming as u might think. If u just go into the gameplan tab under coaching, u just select all teams (or might say all opponents) and then just set a universal depth chart and assign minutes for every game. So it's really just setting it once unless an injury messes it up and u gotta adjust it. But it's pretty quick. Then of course u wanna go into coach settings and put it on manual. But it's also important to put the substitution pattern on rotation. U can put the actual substitution setting on auto tho. That way the coach will make the subs for u, but he'll be following the rotation u set. I also do the whole rotation timeline thing where I tell the game exactly when I want everybody in the game. Now that's DEFINITLEY tedious and time-consuming tho!!
@@KoolKidSimsyou can also check the coach he has sliders like young/old and system proficiency were you can adjust what your coach likes. If you want a younger player playing take that slider and move it closer to young.
What settings do I need to tweak? If the shot is not an excellent release it misses 100% of the time and I’m sick of it. 10 games in and I’m shooting 16% from 3.

The trade thing between 2 CPU teams...I'll have to double check that cuz that shouldn't be the case. Crap I wonder if I accidentally had it set that way!!!?? For the 3PT attempts during simmed games, do u mean games where it's just a simple/quick sim between 2 CPU teams? Ur not talking about simming one of ur own games with like simcast or simcast live right?
@ThePopboy for the 3pt... it's for all games that I sim using simcast, and also all other games for other teams that are simulated. However, I checked that this only happens during the first two eras. As for the trades, yes you had them disabled.
@@canontb Yeah I'm gonna update the trade thing and fix it, so thank u for letting me know! So if it only happens for the 1st 2 eras...so that's Bird/Magic and Jordan then...so yeah that's 2K's programming trying to make the results fit the era. Cuz in those eras, they really didn't shoot anywhere near the amount of 3's they shoot today. That's really interesting cuz I've been looking for sliders that could/should be tweaked for different eras. Sounds like I need to do a simulation sliders update for different eras!! This is exactly the kinda thing that makes me wanna do only new gen in future years! I could get SO MUCH more in depth with things like that on new gen!!! In the meantime tho, u could go to the simulation sliders and increase the 3pt slider to get them to shoot more 3's in simulated games. Man I REALLY wanna test how much effect this has in the past eras!! Cuz clearly 2K has that stuff programmed and calibrated differently for different eras

Hey PS5 here. All of the sim stats and settings are great! The only thing that bothers me is the top PPG scorers are really low. It’s not that the top scorers aren’t scoring. But not many guys play more than 32mpg is there any way to fix this?
Oh I gotcha...so they're still shooting well and scoring good amounts for the minutes they're playing. That's good. There really is nothing that would affect the amount of minutes cpu teams choose to play their guys tho. That does suck now that I really think about it. It'd be a great idea for a slider...like a star player usage amount slider for simmed games. Damn. So how many mins per game is the guy who's leading the league in minutes averaging rn?
@@ThePopboy I’m 6 years in and there’s only 4 players avg over 25 and 20 over 20. Most of the superstar players only play about 31-33 mpg. I did fix it in another my league tho. Take over every team. Go to their coaching adjustments and see it to 10 man rotation 10 bench utilization. And then u can just unselect every team. And every year checked which teams got different coaches and do it for them.

Does going under on off ball screens work better than going over like last year still?
Yeah the way they interact on those screens is pretty similar, so I would go under on the main off ball screen setting and all the other settings where u can do specific types of off ball screens. The only one I go over on is the flare screen. And that's only if I'm playing against the CPU. If I'm playing online against somebody, I might start with over, but some ppl run those flare screens just to get the defender behind the ball, and then they'll have him cut to the rim right off the flare screen. It's effective if done right. I ran into a couple times and had to switch the flare to have them go under on that one as well. The CPU doesn't really do that. If they run a flare, it's pretty much always just a flare. So over is good on those but under on everything else👍👍

Apparently the recent patch separated Assists and Player Regression, what would the assist slider be in that case?
Yeah they actually fixed it!! No more changing it back n forth!!! I updated the set to reflect the changes. So if u download it again, u'll see the correct settings for each. Should be player regression 54 and assists 47👍

If u do an online league like a MyNBA online, then these would definitely translate. If u guys play just quick games like Play Now online, then these wouldn't apply to that. These settings r all the "procedural" or off-court stuff. They're sliders for trades, contracts, player progression, simulation, etc. So that stuff wouldn't matter if it's just a one-off game that's not in a league. If u guys do an online MyNBA, then the admin of the league can set these settings, and they can select others and give them permission to change them as well!👍

Hey is there a way to prevent shot under basket from regressing every year?
Yeah for sure...u'd just have to identify what type of shot around the basket it is. If u go into the attribute progression sliders, u can see all the different types of attributes. So for this, we'd be looking at close shot, driving layup, post hook or maybe post fade. U can scroll thru the different phases of progression/regression. There's the growth period, the peak period and then the decline period. If u really don't want something specific to regress, u could just put the slider for the decline phase up to zero, instead of it being negative. If u just want something to not regress as much, then u can just increase that slider by a few.
Why does my gameplay feel super super slow motion with these settings???
Idk that's super weird cuz none of these affect the actual gameplay...u may just wanna double-check ur game speed setting (I have 53) and then ur User/CPU sliders. R u on my sliders for the gameplay? If so, it should say "custom" under the difficulty category for gameplay difficulty. That'd be the only things that would affect the gameplay. I wonder if something got changed somehow

If u go to ur offensive settings in the timeout menu and go to series, then select like 5 OUT, that should override everything else, and u should be good. They listen to that series thing over all the other settings👍👍

Yeah some...I'm pretty sure the amounts from year 2 and on r locked in stone. That was also the case with all the historical eras last year. That means the starting numbers r all that matter. The amount that it increases each year will be the same no matter what. I'm confirming all this for each era still tho. Prolly won't do whole video on it, but I'll put it on the community tab!!👍

Any suggestions how to fix the problem with players running out of bounds a lot each game ?
I have tested for it but nothing's had an impact on it. Even the awareness sliders at 100. Smh. I might be thinking of a diff game...but I'm pretty sure they used to have some kinda "boundary forcefield" setting or something like that right?? It would let u adjust the amount of assistance on the boundary the game would provide....or like the amount of force it took for a player to actually go outta bounds. Idk why they remove stuff like that just randomly!! Like the pump fake discipline slider!!! I loved that thing!!!!

That is DEFINITELY a video-worthy question cuz it's rough. I have been testing it on and off but I'm gonna dive DEEP into it very soon. The problem is the hedge settings r still broken. The hedge defender doesn't do what he's supposed to on some settings. For that reason, I think the best method at this point is to try to make sure ur controlling the hedge defender when guarding a pick n roll. I would set the on ball screen settings to have them go over on all on ball screens. And then I would play like a centerfield or a free safety type of role with the hedge defender. Just in case u can't control the hedge defender, I would put the hedge settings on hard hedge. If they weren't broken, I would say soft hedge. But soft hedge is not soft hedge in the game. It looks more like catch hedge cuz he drops WAY too deep on soft hedge. He doesn't really hedge at all. He just kinda sits there in drop coverage. At least with hard hedge, he'll actually hedge some. For sure more coming on this!!

How can I fix every player in the league averaging 18 points per game in a couple of seasons?
It works on ps5 but i cannot get my shot meter to turn on how do i change that
There's a couple settings to make sure u have right for that...both under controller settings. 1st, the shot timing setting, u can decide if u want it for shots and layups or just shots, but it should NOT be on real player %. I do shots and layups. 2nd, the jump shot meter should be set to ON and also the layup meter ON. Then there's all kinds of settings where u can customize ur meter like the size, shape, etc!👍

I leave them on and then use the settings for them (under the difficulty category). The settings kinda lessen the importance of that factor tho. It shouldn't have a massive effect on ratings, but it'll have a small effect if it's super high/super low. I like the added challenge of tyrna keep everybody happy while managing ur roster. It's definitely a realistic thing...but it's not the greatest job by 2K of executing that concept. So I keep it, but try to make it so it's not life-changing either way!👍👍
Do these settings work with the Lebron Era?
Yeah I've tested on all eras and I would use these in all eras. The only thing that's different is the cap stuff in the past eras...but it doesn't really matter. The thing with that is 2K tries to make the cap amounts historically accurate, so they actually have the cap levels locked in from yr 2 on. So u can set the starting cap amount to whatever u want for yr 1...but it's always gonna go to the same level for yr 2, 3, etc. I've also noticed some different results with the really old eras...especially with the amount of 3's taken. Of course that makes sense. But that doesn't apply to the LeBron era as much. This is one of the reasons I'm SO excited to focus more on only new gen goin forward: I can get so much more in depth and come out with little tweaks to fine tune everything for each era!! I'm actually about to do that for player lock rn!!!😬😬🔥🔥🔥

That's a great question. I guess TECHNICALLY these r for the standard, modern era...but I do test them in the other eras as well. I almost always find that it's not necessary or desirable to have different settings for the historical eras. I am in the process of doing deeper testing on specific eras with all these settings, so I'll definitely put something out if there's some era-specific adjustments we wanna make. The area u might think should be different is the contract and mainly the salary cap sliders. However, I believe the amounts by which the cap increases each year is actually locked into place for all the historical eras. I'm still confirming that, but that's how it was last year, and that's how it has come out so far this year. So that means that the salary cap inflation slider does nothing in the past eras. It also means that it doesn't matter what we start at for the cap amount because the cap amounts for year 2 and on r going to be what they're going to be. I think 2K is just trying to make them historically accurate. My main concern is just making things work in the game, so I'm looking into the other contract sliders to make sure they work just as well for the historical cap amounts. The game does adjust what those sliders mean for the past eras, so we should be good. I'll for sure get something out if there's any changes we should make tho!

Oh yeah these sliders r all the off-court stuff like trade, progression, simulation, etc...so player lock doesn't affect that kinda stuff. Player lock just affects the gameplay...and speaking of that, I am actually working on some slider tweaks just for player lock rn!! The current gameplay sliders r still tested and fully approved on player lock...but I've always wanted to do some player lock designed sliders to try to make it even better!! I'll have a vid on this pretty soon!!
