I feel like I’m the only one that loved Ninth House from the beginning. It was a little confusing but I didn’t find it slow. I was in love with the writing and atmosphere from the start.
I loveeeeeee how you explained ninth house... I was really looking for some motivation to read it, like you said -100 pages were like sooo hard to get through and now I just want to finish the book over night haha!
18:50 The amount of time Alex had broken ribs in the book is insane. She's a skinny person that didn't get enough sleep (and Darlington), but after every few chapters she got her ribs broken it feels like. Be it by kicking, stomping, biting... how did she not die lmao. She's a tank
A friend of mine recently recommended Marie Lu books to me and now your videos are raving about her books. Maybe it's a sign for the near future of my TBR...
I tried picking up Ninth House during a recent reading slump and totally agree about the slog of the first part of the book. I'm hopefully going to pick it back up soon so its good to know it picks up!
I'm really nervous about reading Ninth House but I'm glad to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂 Also I couldn't stop staring at your hair during this video it's so beautiful 😍💛💜
Jananie, I had the exact same reaction as you reading Ninth House! I met Leigh at a Book Fair back in April & I’ve been waiting all year for this book. Then when I finally got my hands on it I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to love it because the slower pace at the beginning surprised me. But, 100 pages in I got really invested. I loved the main characters & their backstories. I ❤️ Darlington. Also, so glad you read Dread Nation. I devoured this book last year. I agree, there a lot of funny parts mixed in with the serious topics it tackles. I’ve been waiting & waiting for book 2. Hey, I thought Ninth House was a stand alone, but doesn’t seem like it’s set up for a sequel?!
That’s crazy because I’m re reading this and can’t remember champion yet so I haven’t gotten there but I’m liking prodigy A LOT. Like I spent all day reading it

“Came for the zombies. Stayed for the goat.”
My new line now lol
I think the legend series is one of the best Marie Lu books out there and I really want to get my hands on rebel too!
