  • After I was given a free weedeater I realized the line dispenser was messed up some and the line would fly out whenever it felt like it. Well I found the Ugly Head Trimmer and thought I would give it a test. I have to say I am impressed but watch and enjoy for yourself.

    Why would anyone give a down vote for such an informative video? Is it because of the product?

    This is Hands-Down the BEST Trimmer Head available on the market! I was really surprised on how well the yellow plastic blades worked and how long they last. I live in Texas and I cut down all of the native grasses with this head. Its amazing how quick and simple it is to replace the strings. I use a Titanium String which last much longer...and I pre-cut the strings and put them in a Fanny Pack so I have them with me out in the field..Super Easy, works better than any other on the market!

      I also like this one a lot .The light weight frame is great. There is another string attachment that I like called the badgerhead. Its a bit stronger when it comes to hitting rocks.

    You SOLD me on this one and I’ll tell you...I am SO Impressed with the way this thing gets the job done. I had a whole field of “Mexican Hat” flowers/Weeds..this thing cut it all down in no time at all. Extra blades are inexpensive (WalMart). I keep a supply of them in a Fanny Pack, along with some pre-cut string (Titanium 0.095”).

      I have used the attachment for years and it has been great. I am now using a product called Badgerhead that works well too.

    Great video...very instructive. I saw the Ugly Head at Lowes and felt it would be an easy replace ment for the sorry bump head that came on my Troy Bilt string trimmer. Looks like I made the right choice according to your video.

      I used this weedeater head the other day for about 45min before the string failed. I have really enjoyed using this. Way better than the head that came on my weedeater.

    Thanks for the sharing! It helps a lot when I am considering to replace the current trimmer line spool. Did the blades give a more powerful cut than the lines or they were similar?

    thanks for posting this video. I followed the steps to install on my Craftsman 26cc two cycle trimmer weed wacker. I install it as tight as possible, but then after running for a few minutes the head flies off. I tried different setups then shown here and also even using the bolt that came with the original head, nothing works, very frustrating.

    I love these heads only $30 and you can switch between clearing brush and using string in 10 seconds plus the string lasts way longer then any bump feed I've used

  • @shawndubay4050
    @shawndubay4050 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not too bad. The string is really putting a heavy load on your engine and alot of strain and heat in your clutch. As a professional lawn care business owner and worker. You really need a Husqvarna 525L they are an absolute beast of a trimmer. We run the heck out of them and and they just keep going. They are very powerful machines and I think you would absolutely love it. Light weight, powerful rugged and very reliable. If you don't get one you are missing out. It is one of our favorites out on the job.

    Severely disappointed at first but after learning a couple things It's ok. Broke two blades in the first 5 minutes on horse weed and grass that was about 3 foot tall. Don't even think about woody stuff. Horse weed stalks were probably up to 1/2 inch thick. Smaller ones up to 1/4" were ok. First thing I learned was keep the RPMs down. Spinning at full speed it seems the shock of hitting a thick weed broke the blade. I also found that the blades did much better after they wore down a bit of a curved edge on the tip. That let them slice rather than grab the weed stalk and I could run up to higher RPMs. Third thing is go at the weed stalk head on, jabbing forward. Sweeping and coming from the side grabbed and pulled the cutter into the weed. It does not cut through the stuff like butter. Thick clumps of tall grass, also go slow. It's a lot of work, more work than I hoped. A metal blade would do the job a lot faster but we are SO dry in California I don't want to start a fire with a spark off a rock. This at least won't do that and I was able to get it done once I figured those things out.

      @LandtoHouse  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good points. I have used this as my main trimmer head for some time now and I really like it for the 3 string option. I dont really use the blades anymore. I was able to weed a hill 40 feet by 30 feet with one set of strings. Hard to find another head that can give those results.

    Very impressive with the blades, I took a look on my local amazon site but it doesn't appear to be available this side of the pond, however there are some bladed alternatives so I may well try one out. I have a 26cc weedeater also and although the line works ok it is a pain having to keep feeding it out as it breaks easily, Good review

      Michael Collinson The line feed on my machine is all messed up and I want to the store to find a replacement and they said my trimmer was too small for a metal blade but then I found these. So impressive. Sadly Amazon here has also taken them off the .... digital shelf.

    The head seems to work quite well. I believe the black plastic cup that the nuts and bolts were in is supposed to go above the head to prevent grass from wrapping around the shaft.

    Nice review, but I highly recommend using ear protection when using power equipment, especially gas powered string trimmers. Those are loud as hell. If not, you’re going to be very hard of hearing by the time you’re 60.

      Land to House That's what I thought sorry I didn't want to bother you in any ways but I thought if you were actually using pure gasoline and read my comment on time that maybe it would save your engine... Anyways my mix gasoline is synthetic and the company actually puts a smell in it. It smells like grapes! Awesome stuff too. Purple colour, synthetic, fuel stabilizer, antifreeze to minus thirty degrees Celsius. It's made by Sinto Racing. If ever you see it grab it it's just that good and thanks for your review I ordered that exact head for my trimmer.
