  • Andrew getting ready to submit his 1967 Honda CL90 Scrambler to Bring a Trailer.
As usual, our 'Go Pro' on board riding shots didn't end up very well so we ended up having to re-do those. Stay tuned for more video on that!

We couldn't afford one of these when I was a kid. Dad did buy a Cimatti 50 which we had to assemble ourselves. I was envious of the guys who could afford a Honda 90. For a long time that was my dream bike.

So you were a kid when they were brand new I'm assuming? Where was Cimatti made? I'm not as familiar with those. The CL90 is defintely a cool little ride - I see less of them around than I do the CT90's and S90's, for instance.
It's funny - my uncle had a 1971 Z50A when he was a kid in the 80s, that my grandfather bought new. My grandfather was a cheapskate and always referred to that bike and the 1971 CB100 they had also as 'Japanese Junk', so I'm guessing that prices on them, especially used ones, had come down a bit by that time.

@@retro_grade Cimatti was made in Bologna Italy. It was in the 60's that I lusted for a Honda 90. They seemed top of the line in those days. I have a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S now. Just a great machine.

A friend of mine had a 160. We were all jealous.

@gphilipc2031 - oh, you all had reason to be jealous as the CB160 was an awesome ride! They're actually one of my absolute favorite old Hondas.
If you haven't already, check out our CB160 riding video we did awhile back :)

They are suprisingly very peppy for a 90cc engine, and the top speed is impressive as well!
We did caputure some riding footage on the bike with the camera (hopefully) not pointed on the ground the next day and will have the posted in the next week roughly.

Nice! Did it have the high pipe on it as well or the low pipe that the S90 would have had? It's pretty amazing how peppy these little things are!

It had the low pipe. Our neighbor who was going thru a divorce gave it to my dad for me as he had two girls and no boys.

Sounds like it might be time for a compression check and a valve adjustment .. she could have a tight valve maybe even a stretch timing chain on top of that week spark

@markcdeyoung3118 - if we were going to keep it around or fully 'go through it' for sale on Bring a Trailer, we would have done all of the above....along with sourcing an original OEM carburetor.
But, this one we decied that we wanted to move it along and sell it as-is. We bought it on a whim because it was cool, rode it a bit, and are getting rid of some stuff. With selling it, doing any more than what we had done didn't really make sense (as we didn't feel we'd get it back out).
With the trouble we had started to experience more of on these videos (intended for sale on BAT), we listed it for sale locally on Facebook marketplace for what we had it in, a little less. It just sold yesterday, guy came several hours to pick it up!
