Best part is, every unit is OP if given a chance. Except wasps, wasps are always useless beyond the first surprise attack with them. Mustangs become useless with a single armor upgraded Arc.

When I worked there (like six months ago), we only had to flip one blizzard out of every order, so we rarely had to flip the banana split. The old Turtles blizzard was almost as bad, with the hot caramel and cone dip, that shit was pure liquid long before the customer gets their hands on it. Good times!!!

Hey Brick! Currently watching this video on my break while at Dairy Queen funnily enough. To answer your question it's all about adding a small amount of each ingredient and straining the liquid out of the pineapple and strawberry. Glad to hear the Brick himself is a former DQ warrior.

I feel like mech skins could be for like, achieving certain statistics with certain mechs. Rhinos soaking X damage giving you an "Ironclad" skin, something like that. So when you see your opponent deploy some tricked-out looking mech, you immediately get that sinking feeling of "Oh god, they've McFucking Had It"

One of my favorite combos I’ve made in my short time with the game is slapping parasitic ammo onto stormcallers. It just basically converts whatever horde they have into a horde of crawlers for me, and if they were slow, now it’s a horde of crawlers in the enemy backline

  • @ItisIWOOSH

When making a banana split blizzard, the goal is to use less ice cream and be very particular with the amount of topping you do, especially the strawberry since that's the reason it gets so liquidy, you also have to blend it for far less time than a normal blizzard, usually no more than 2 or 3 seconds to maintain the consistency of a normal blizzard

    • @ItisIWOOSH

As someone thats been pioneering and experimenting the Fang Anvil technique in this game, I appreciate the love for the little guy. Constantly people are trying to tell me to step away from them cause they are too weak, yet I am doing decent in tournaments. Like how you said in the video, each loss I know how I messed up and make tweaks to fix it for later. I will say though that the game gets a lot harder 2v2 and its unfortunate to get a teammate that can not hold their weight, its still fun coordinating with another to set up future moves.

Honestly, I hate most auto battlers because there's 8+ players with loads of different solved strategies and tons of RNG involved in how the match will play out. Single patches in this genre can completely redefine what's good/bad. It's exhausting.
But Mechabellum, being only a 1v1, and always having information on what my opponent is capable of doing. Makes this particular title seem a lot more digestible and fun.
So soon after buying Moonbreaker I was going to consider waiting to pick this up too. Expecting another $30-40 price tag.
But for only $15 there's no way I can say no. Damn you Bricky for showing 2 great single player time wasters back to back.

    • @Sorain1
      @Sorain1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Funny thing is, even the 2v2 is basically 1v1, with the winner going to help their teammate. But yeah, it is the lack of RNG that makes this for me. The brilliant idea of "Okay, but what if you had to live with your positioning decisions for the rest of the match?" turned an overly reactive game style into a brilliantly strategic one. Edit: The fact that a valid strategy is 'Ignore what your enemy does, just build a winning army comp/formation' is amazing.

13:46 From what I've learned by watching Beaglerush play this game, Mustangs are really not that OP once you know how to play around them. Meaning, you need to take them seriously and move to counter them/pull them into attacking an inefficient target before they get out of hand. An Arclight with armor will especially mess them up early.
There's also the fact that a lot of people are so convinced they're OP that they will knee-jerk buy them, and you can mindgame around that.

so, for the banana split yer ganna want to put only half a ladle and or pump of each into a large and 1/4 or less in any smaller blizzard. you can also try to drain the juices from stuff like the strawberry or pineapple but that's not as reliable during a rush, bonus tip dont blend for to long idk how your ice-cream was but it can make ours more soupy.

My DQ only required favor of the month. And the banana split was never one, but I did it anyways. The trick is first to overfill or underfill it then scoop the fruit juice off and get it to the customer in under 5 seconds. It also helps to not put too much fruit juice first.

As someone who stopped working at Dairy Queen more recently than you did: the key to flipping a Banana Split blizzard without it falling out is twofold:
First, shortchange the customer on their ingredients a bit. Not a lot, just use a little less that full spoons full and "short inches" of banana. You know how it is.
Second, do that flip and flip back fast enough that it almost flies out sideways from the speed you flip it. You don't hold that crap upside down. Flip down and up, one smooth motion. If they try to insist you flip it again, you refuse. You flip it once, you make sure they saw you flip it, and if they try to claim they didn't you don't take their shit. If they want to go all Karen on you, if your manager wants to make you redo it, doesn't matter. You don't flip that thing a second time.
I guess there's a third, too: don't let the blizzard sit and melt. If you can't give them the Split blizzard almost straight from the mixer, it goes in the freezer in the meantime.

Bricky, there is another way to play Mechabellum which sounds outlandish but hear me out. You can enjoy Mechabellum without playing at all by just spectating a match. There is a "Prediction" system where you basically place a bet on who is gonna win and both players in the match know who got the most bet on them.
You do gain "insight" level which does nothing currently aside from showing it off that you were right about your prediction a lot and you do lose it on a wrong bet. It is quite a good way to learn the game by watching the match if you are too intimidated to PvP or you are on low-energy mode and just want to see mechs go boom but still taking some part in it. The spectator gets 90s delay so you can't really narc on or spy info on another player because you will always be watching the previous round battle.
The cosmetic skin will come out in the future which you can buy with the in-game credit earned after you researched all the mech tech upgrade.
Remember, the match ain't over until your HP hit 0. If your opponent has to win he will have to work to get that last drop of blood out of you.

Late to the party, worked at DQ in the early 10s. You have to drain as much strawberry and pineapple syrup as you posibly can. You could put in chocolate syrup or you can half and half that with some cone dip. Otherside that crap is going to be a soupy mess. Corporate did not give us this tip, I had to tell grown men and women, of which I was not to minimize liquids and add the cone dip.

I wanna recommend Dominions and Illwinter's other stuff for people that like autobattlers but I suppose it's a little different. You still organize armies and essentially 'program' armies that are completely hands off when they fight, but it's not a level playing field like this - it's closer to a 4x, so there's maneuvering and all that, as well as the insane cliff of just mastering the magic list.
It seems to do not-really-balanced nations well, though, and it's pretty flavorful, so there is that.

the game is quite popular in germany, because the german gaming community has a lot of old strategy game addicts (due to the "Die Siedler" ["the settlers"] series), so there is already a really solid player base (also because ubisofts new settler iteration was hot garbage and the fans long for a new strategy game to put their time into)

Not surprised you don't know Paradox Arc, they are new sub branch/division of Paradox, created/announced about a year ago maybe.
The point of the company divide is so that Paradox can continue to focus on establish brands like Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, City Skyline, etc...
And Arc can take chances and develop new game studios & franchises, like Across the Obelisk and Mechabellum.
It's a pretty neat partnership, the devs for Across the Obelisk knew they had a great game, but were not 'seasoned' when it came to actually releasing, publishing and handling player feedback for a game....
Paradox knew they had a bit of an issue, where their dev teams get 'stuck in a rut' of doing the same game types/titles over and over...
By working together, the 'Indi devs' and the 'seasoned devs' bring out the best in both as well as covering their weaknesses.
It worked so well with Across the Obelisk that it was decided that Paradox Arc had to be a thing they kept doing going forward.

The key difference between this game and something like TFT is TFT is so needlessly complicated to cleanly create a balanced experience. Mechabellum is baby simple when compared to something like TFT (which is good, cause the reason so many quit TFT is cause you master the current season and the next one comes around and it takes forever to re-learn everything, it is tiring). It also doesn't rely on heavy RNG, in Mechabeelum you can force a build if you really wanted to with how free the "deck building" is. The real upside of this is that you and your opponent are on mostly on even ground since you know the reinforcements both of you can get and the roster of mechs are few enough that you can reasonably figure out what your opponent might do to try to counter you.
I like to imagine Mechabellum is basically the chess of auto-chess. It is the one with the most efficient depth-per-complexity, which is good because to express good strategy you NEED to understand all the variables in order to compute them. If there are too many variables then the computation is messy and you might fail to account for all of it. If there are too few variables (like 1-D chess) the depth of the game is shallow and could likely be solved (and solved games are boring cause you just do the same thing over and over and outcomes are predicted before the game even starts). Mechabellum hits the sweet spot of as much depth as possible for as low complexity cost as possible.
