They are sooo authentic and every time I watch their behind the scenes stuff you hear HipHop and R&B song’s playing in the background. 2NE1 one was my favorite group back in the day… but this group is the first group I’m honestly a Stan for.
They’re technically not Kpop or jpop. More of a global girl group. But yes they are different. I do love your observations and reaction to them. Thank you. Oh I can’t wait to see them in May here in NYC. They’re performing woot woot!!!
The members said that they grow up in music and training inspired in Hip Hop, R&B, soul and other old classic songs (I'm not good at English, but you know what I mean). They enjoy listen to old songs in their car. They have a really wide of music range and their taste is chef kiss.
They just listen to music all day. They love jazz, r and b, hip hop, rock, they are all over the place. Even when u watch the behind the scenes they always have music in back.
19:20 Probably because not only do XG listen to Hip Hop, and Pop, but they listen to the Kpop or Jpop groups or whatever like. Such as NewJeans, Blackpink, and others. That's why it feels genuine, not only that but they have no egos so they don't mind shouting out other groups.

Well since they were trainees from 12-16 that’s kind of prime to learn songs anyways. But xg has some crazy personal playlists. They eat cds. Like all genres. All artists. Jurin be dropping from kaytranada to Juan Gabriel. I think they legit just love music. Most of the time I agree with you. Cockna has said miseducation changed her life around 3rd grade lol. Harvey was inspired by Michael Jackson to quit modeling to sing and dance. Juria was told by vocal coaches she was better suited to western music so she says she listened to all divas from western scene. So it seems like a combination. But like I said you basically find musical taste in hs and that’s when they were trainees.
