The vocabulary used by the translator was probably simple comparing to the original words which were deeper in meanings. He became very philosophical in some parts and I can imagine how difficult should it be to translate such talks in real-time.
This is such a great interview. I've come across some interviews that seem superficial and repetitive but this one is truly an in depth one, allowing a glimpse not just at the extraordinary movie The Past but also at the mind of the incredible artist and human being that is Asghar Farhadi. Thank you for this.
great interviews with Asghar Farhadi! and the translation is great, too. Thank you for making the interviews very meaningful and going beyond film-analysis, into his views on politics and humanity.
thanks for this one David. It would have been nice though if the translator was in the frame like you did for Kechiche interview. Anyway great one as always
I really like Farhadi`s commentaries yet I wish the interviewer listened to him a little bit more. The questions are very unconnected to the commentaries which distort the discussion
oh if samir represents that third group of people who are suspended bw past and future, might marie and ahmad represent the other two groups he listed? i supposed marie is very willing to move on from the past and keep moving forwards whereas ahmad is comfortable with embracing the past and still looking toward a future.
I don't know if she is an English translator or a friend! In both case, she failed to carry out Mr. Farhadi interview! She missed most of Mr. Farhadi's conversation
Such a wonderful translation, she does an amazing work. Thank you for doing this interview I very much enjoyed it.

God, do I hate it when films are analyzed to the tiniest little details, instead of just enjoying it.
Farhadi's are all exceptional and amazing,
Thank you for doing this interview.
He is my inspiration, thanks a lot for this, I am eagerly waiting to watch the past!
i would love to see a DP/30 Koreeda interview -- thankful for these interviews with Asghar Farhadi , one of the all-time greats for me ....
ya, nice interview

Thanks, but afyer being on camera the last time, the translator preferred to be off-camera.
DP/30 oh ok, thanks!
Long live Iranians brothers !.......from Croatia

VIVA Asghar
great interpreter
I loved PAST. His masterpiece indeed. Much better than SEPERATION that he won the Oscar for.
+Megan Kermani I agree, excellent movie with very touching and sensitiv end , Farhadi is one of the best art director today

The Past was a good movie.
holy ****. yes.

hello from other side
I could be a translator too, just in case :D
Loved "The Past". I can't deal with that translator, she spaks out of her nose and I can almost understand his Persian better than her english.
.
I can say translator is doing a horrible job.
Asghar should start talking English
David James I get the impression that he understand English pretty well...I think he can speak if he tries
What a boring interview!
